|Daniel 3:21|
Then these men were bound in their pants, their tunics, and their mantles, and their [other] garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

These three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste: he spoke and said to his counselors, Didn't we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered the king, True, O king.

"He answered, Look, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are unharmed; and the aspect of the fourth is like a son of the gods."

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace: he spoke and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God, come forth, and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came forth out of the midst of the fire.

The satraps, the deputies, and the governors, and the king's counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power on their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed, neither were their pants changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them.

Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants who trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

"Therefore I make a decree, that every people, nation, and language, which speak anything evil against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill; because there is no other god who is able to deliver after this sort."

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

QUEM ERA MARCOS?
Marcos 01-03
Sobrinho de Barnabé, Marcos era filho de Maria, uma dama de Jerusalém cujos recursos econômicos eram folgados e cuja casa era o lugar de reunião e encontro da igreja primitiva (Atos 12:12). Desde o começo, Marcos foi criado no próprio centro da comunidade cristã.
Quando Paulo e Barnabé saíram em sua primeira viagem missionária, levaram a Marcos consigo para que lhes servisse de ajudante e secretário (Atos 12:25). Esta viagem foi muito desafortunada para Marcos. Quando chegaram a Perge, Paulo propôs abandonar a costa e dirigir-se para o interior, até chegar à meseta central da Ásia Menor; mas Marcos abandonou a expedição neste ponto e voltou para sua casa (Atos 13:13).
Por que ele retornou? Algumas hipóteses:
a) Por medo de enfrentar o que todo mundo sabia era um dos caminhos mais perigosos que havia naquela época, infectado de bandoleiros e assaltantes.
b) Porque cada vez se fazia mais evidente que o chefe da expedição era Paulo, e Marcos pôde haver-se sentido incômodo ao ver que seu tio passava a segundo plano.
c) Ou talvez, porque não estava de acordo com o tipo de trabalho missionário que Paulo fazia.
Paulo e Barnabé concluíram sua primeira viagem missionária e começaram a fazer planos para uma segunda viagem. Desta vez, Barnabé desejava levar Marcos. Mas Paulo negou-se a contar com um homem que os tinha abandonado na Panfília (Atos 15:37-40). Isso foi tão sério, a ponto de Paulo e Barnabé se separarem. Pelo que sabemos, nunca voltaram a trabalhar juntos.
Durante alguns anos, Marcos desaparece da história. Segundo a tradição, teria viajado ao Egito fundando ali a igreja de Alexandria. Realidade ou não, o que sabemos é que quando Marcos volta a aparecer, o faz da maneira mais surpreendente. Da prisão romana, quando Paulo escreveu aos Colossenses, Marcos estava no cárcere com ele (Colossenses 4:10). Em outra nas Cartas da prisão, Filemom, Paulo menciona a Marcos na lista de seus colaboradores.
Quando Paulo estava esperando a morte, perto do fim, escreveu a Timóteo, seu homem de maior confiança, pedindo-lhe levasse Marcos até ele, porque, para Paulo, Marcos lhe era útil ao ministério (2 Timóteo 4:11). Esta última opinião de Paulo sobre Marcos é muito diferente daquela quando o acusou de tê-los defraudado. Não sabemos o que pode ter acontecido nesse ínterim, mas evidentemente Marcos conseguiu conquistar um título do tipo “o homem que soube redimir-se”.
O único colaborador que Paulo quis, quando se aproximava o fim de seu ministério, foi Marcos. Sempre há uma segunda chance! Hoje, a sua chance é a de começar a ler Marcos. Aproveite!
