whoso smiteth a person, by the mouth of witnesses doth [one] slay the murderer; and one witness doth not testify against a person -- to die.

`And ye take no atonement for the life of a murderer who [is] condemned -- to die, for he is certainly put to death;

|Números 35:32|
and ye take no atonement for him to flee unto the city of his refuge, to turn back to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

`And ye profane not the land which ye [are] in, for blood profaneth the land; as to the land, it is not pardoned for blood which is shed in it except by the blood of him who sheddeth it;

and ye defile not the land in which ye are dwelling, in the midst of which I do tabernacle, for I Jehovah do tabernacle in the midst of the sons of Israel.`

And the heads of the fathers of the families of the sons of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, come near, and speak before Moses, and before the princes, heads of the fathers of the sons of Israel,

and say, Jehovah commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the sons of Israel, and my lord hath been commanded by Jehovah to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

`And -- they have been to one of the sons of the [other] tribes of the sons of Israel for wives, and their inheritance hath been withdrawn from the inheritance of our fathers, and hath been added to the inheritance of the tribe which is theirs, and from the lot of our inheritance it is withdrawn,

and if it is the jubilee of the sons of Israel, then hath their inheritance been added to the inheritance of the tribe which is theirs, and from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers is their inheritance withdrawn.`

And Moses commandeth the sons of Israel, by the command of Jehovah, saying, `Rightly are the tribe of the sons of Joseph speaking;

“Cuidado, irmãos, para que nenhum de vocês tenha coração perverso e incrédulo, que se afaste do Deus vivo. Ao contrário, encorajem-se uns aos outros todos os dias, durante o tempo que se chama “hoje”, de modo que nenhum de vocês seja endurecido pelo engano do pecado, pois passamos a ser participantes de Cristo, desde que, de fato, nos apeguemos até o fim à confiança que tivemos no princípio. Por isso é que se diz: ‘Se hoje vocês ouvirem a sua voz, não endureçam o coração, como na rebelião’ (Hebreus 3:12-15)”.
Se você tiver acesso livre a um bate-papo-cabeça de algum grupo de jovens cristãos, e perguntar-lhes “Na opinião de vocês, em que área os jovens enfrentam o maior problema nos dias de hoje?”, sabe qual será a resposta? Um resumo da voz da maioria poderia ser: “Pelo que conversamos entre amigos, pelos problemas que enfrentamos, pelas lutas que temos, é evidente que o maior problema seja a dificuldade em manter o coração puro”. Esta é uma das maiores tentações porque Satanás sabe que para que alguém conheça a Deus é preciso que mantenha o coração puro (Mateus 5:8).
“Vencer os pensamentos impuros é uma das mais difíceis batalhas que temos de travar. Conspiram contra nós todas as forças da natureza carnal, além das influências de uma sociedade que cada vez mais se torna permissiva e condescendente. Não resta dúvida de que agora, mais do que nunca, as janelas de nosso coração, os nossos olhos, devem ser guardadas e vigiadas com cuidado dobrado. As cenas com estímulos sensuais se fazem presentes em todas as partes. Estão na televisão, nas revistas, nos jornais e ao vivo em quase todos os lugares. É por isso que o sábio Salomão nos aconselha: "Sobre tudo o que se deve guardar, guarda o teu coração, porque dele procedem as fontes da vida".
“A menos que evitemos ver, ler e ouvir aquilo que sugira pensamentos impuros, as reservas morais do coração serão graduais, mas certamente, dominadas. Por outro lado, devemos entender que a vida de um fiel e sincero cristão, que é leal para com o seu Deus, não o torna um indivíduo repulsivo e sem atrativos, não! Pelo contrário, a religião cristã vivida com sinceridade leva a pessoa a "harmonizar o alto sentimento de pureza e integridade com a disposição feliz". Obreiros Evangélicos, pág. 122.
