|Sofonias 1:11|
Because of the downfall of all the people of Canaan: all those who were weighted down with silver have been cut off.

|Sofonias 1:12|
And it will come about at that time, that I will go searching through Jerusalem with lights; and I will send punishment on the men who have become like wine stored over-long, who say to themselves, The Lord will not do good and will not do evil.

And their wealth will be violently taken away, and their houses will be made waste: they will go on building houses and never living in them, and planting vine-gardens but not drinking the wine from them.

The great day of the Lord is near, it is near and coming very quickly; the bitter day of the Lord is near, coming on more quickly than a man of war.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and sorrow, a day of wasting and destruction, a day of dark night and deep shade, a day of cloud and thick dark.

A day of sounding the horn and the war-cry against the walled towns and the high towers.

And I will send trouble on men so that they will go about like the blind, because they have done evil against the Lord: and their blood will be drained out like dust, and their strength like waste.

Even their silver and their gold will not be able to keep them safe in the day of the Lord's wrath; but all the land will be burned up in the fire of his bitter wrath: for he will put an end, even suddenly, to all who are living in the land.

ESSE É LINDO!
SALMOS 145-150
Ao abrir minha Bíblia na leitura de hoje, encontrei, ao lado do Salmo 145, uma marcação em vermelho escrita: “Lindo!” Como fazia muito tempo que não lia esse salmo, nem lembro quando essa marcação foi feita. Se existe um texto que compensa ser marcado na Bíblia, é esse salmo.
Quero fazer algo diferente hoje. Geralmente, sempre faço o comentário do texto bíblico do dia, mas não o leio. Mas como o Salmo 145 é tão lindo, peço-lhe permissão para escrevê-lo abaixo.
Hoje, nossa celebração é terminar a leitura do livro dos Salmos. É uma leitura gostosa, pra cima, como música de festa. E na introdução dessa comemoração, vem aqui “Um cântico de louvor. Davídico.
Eu te exaltarei, meu Deus e meu rei; bendirei o teu nome para todo o sempre! Todos os dias te bendirei e louvarei o teu nome para todo o sempre! Grande é o SENHOR e digno de ser louvado; sua grandeza não tem limites.
Uma geração contará à outra a grandiosidade dos teus feitos; eles anunciarão os teus atos poderosos. Proclamarão o glorioso esplendor da tua majestade, e meditarei nas maravilhas que fazes. Anunciarão o poder dos teus feitos temíveis, e eu falarei das tuas grandes obras. Comemorarão a tua imensa bondade e celebrarão a tua justiça.
O SENHOR é misericordioso e compassivo, paciente e transbordante de amor. O SENHOR é bom para todos; a sua compaixão alcança todas as suas criaturas. Rendam-te graças todas as tuas criaturas, SENHOR, e os teus fiéis te bendigam. Eles anunciarão a glória do teu reino e falarão do teu poder, para que todos saibam dos teus feitos poderosos e do glorioso esplendor do teu reino. O teu reino é reino eterno, e o teu domínio permanece de geração em geração.
O SENHOR é fiel em todas as suas promessas e é bondoso em tudo o que faz. O SENHOR ampara todos os que caem e levanta todos os que estão prostrados. Os olhos de todos estão voltados para ti, e tu lhes dás o alimento no devido tempo. Abres a tua mão e satisfazes os desejos de todos os seres vivos. O SENHOR é justo em todos os seus caminhos e é bondoso em tudo o que faz. O SENHOR está perto de todos os que o invocam, de todos os que o invocam com sinceridade. Ele realiza os desejos daqueles que o temem; ouve-os gritar por socorro e os salva. O SENHOR cuida de todos os que o amam, mas a todos os ímpios destruirá.
Com meus lábios louvarei o SENHOR. Que todo ser vivo bendiga o seu santo nome para todo o sempre!”
