There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, light and reason like the wisdom of the gods were seen in him: and King Nebuchadnezzar, your father, made him master of the wonder-workers, and the users of secret arts, and the Chaldaeans, and the readers of signs;

Because a most special spirit, and knowledge and reason and the power of reading dreams and unfolding dark sayings and answering hard questions, were seen to be in him, even in Daniel (named Belteshazzar by the king): now let Daniel be sent for, and he will make clear the sense of the writing.

Then they took Daniel in before the king; the king made answer and said to Daniel, So you are that Daniel, of the prisoners of Judah, whom my father took out of Judah.

And I have had news of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and reason and special wisdom have been seen in you.

|Daniel 5:15|
And now the wise men, the users of secret arts, have been sent in before me for the purpose of reading this writing and making clear to me the sense of it: but they are not able to make clear the sense of the thing:

|Daniel 5:16|
And I have had news of you, that you have the power of making things clear, and of answering hard questions: now if you are able to make out the writing and give me the sense of it, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain round your neck and be a ruler of high authority in the kingdom.

Then Daniel made answer and said to the king, Keep your offerings for yourself, and give your rewards to another; but I, after reading the writing to the king, will give him the sense of it.

As for you, O King, the Most High God gave to Nebuchadnezzar, your father, the kingdom and great power and glory and honour:

And because of the great power he gave him, all peoples and nations and languages were shaking in fear before him: some he put to death and others he kept living, at his pleasure, lifting up some and putting others down as it pleased him.

But when his heart was lifted up and his spirit became hard with pride, he was put down from his place as king, and they took his glory from him:

RESSURREIÇÃO PROFUNDA
Lucas 23-24
Donald Grey Barnhouse estava dirigindo seus filhos até o velório da mãe deles. Num cruzamento da estrada um enorme caminhão passou pela frente deles, temporariamente passando uma grande sombra pelo carro em que estavam. Barnhouse perguntou aos filhos, "Você preferia que a sombra do caminhão ou o próprio caminhão passasse por cima de vocês?" "É claro, a sombra," eles responderam. "É isso que aconteceu conosco," falou Barnhouse. "O falecimento de mamãe é apenas a sombra da morte. O pecador perdido é atropelado pelo próprio caminhão." (Larson, Craig Brian, editor em "Illustrations for Preaching and Teaching from Leadership Journal," Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, 1993, p. 55).
Que garantia temos para dizer isto? Ela está no ponto alto dos dois capítulos que você lê hoje, na sua Bíblia: a ressurreição de Cristo. Don Emmitte, em “Living Illustrations for Effective Preaching” faz lembrar que “se a Páscoa disser qualquer coisa para nós, é que Jesus estará sempre conosco. As pirâmides do Egito são famosas porque abrigaram os corpos mumificados dos antigos reis do Egito. A Catedral de Westminster em Londres é reverenciada porque lá jazem os corpos da nobreza e de Britânicos famosos. O mausoléu de Maomé é notável pelo caixão de pedra e os ossos que contém. O cemitério de Arlington em Washington nos EUA é venerado como o lugar de descanso de muitos Americanos famosos. Mas, o sepulcro de Jesus é famoso, justamente porque está vazio.” Aleluia! Glória a Deus por isso! Esta é a nossa garantia, de que a nossa fé não é vã.
Nos primeiros séculos da era cristã, a borboleta era usada como símbolo da ressurreição. Mas sabemos que isto não é o que melhor simboliza a ressurreição. A marca da ressurreição está nas mãos de Cristo. Percebeu aí na leitura de hoje? As cicatrizes continuam lá, em Suas mãos. Mas... por que?
Se Deus ressuscitou Jesus da morte, por que Ele não restaurou seu corpo? Por que feridas? Por que a marca dos pregos que dava para sentir com as mãos? Será que a palavra do Evangelho está dizendo a nós na nossa espera: "Você não verá a Jesus até enxergar suas feridas"? Para John Vannorsdall, “de alguma forma ou outra, precisamos entender que o Cristo ressuscitado é sempre o Cristo ferido. Vivo, mas, nunca sarado. Livre da morte, mas, marcado para eternidade. Os surdos tem um sinal para Jesus. O dedo do meio de cada mão é colocado na centro da palma da outra mão. Jesus, eles sinalizam, é aquele com as mãos feridas. E quando eles tocam aquele lugar, eles lembram. Eles escutam o nome dEle na sua própria pele”.
