|Levítico 16:21|
And Aaron, placing his two hands on the head of the living goat, will make a public statement over him of all the evil doings of the children of Israel and all their wrongdoing, in all their sins; and he will put them on the head of the goat and send him away, in the care of a man who will be waiting there, into the waste land.

|Levítico 16:22|
And the goat will take all their sins into a land cut off from men, and he will send the goat away into the waste land.

|Levítico 16:23|
Then let Aaron come into the Tent of meeting and take off the linen clothing which he put on when he went into the holy place, and put them down there;

And after bathing his body in water in a holy place, he is to put on his clothing and come out and give his burned offering and the burned offering of the people, to take away his sin and the sin of the people.

And the fat of the sin-offering is to be burned by him on the altar.

And the man who takes away the goat for Azazel is to have his clothing washed and his body bathed in water and then he may come back to the tent-circle.

And the ox of the sin-offering and the goat of the sin-offering, whose blood was taken in to make the holy place free from sin, are to be taken away outside the tent-circle and their skins and their flesh and their waste are to be burned with fire.

And the man by whom they are burned is to have his clothing washed and his body bathed in water, and then he may come back to the tent-circle.

And let this be an order to you for ever: in the seventh month, on the tenth day, you are to keep yourselves from pleasure and do no sort of work, those who are Israelites by birth and those from other lands who are living among you:

For on this day your sin will be taken away and you will be clean: you will be made free from all your sins before the Lord.

O PROPÓSITO DO EVANGELHO DE JOÃO
João 01-03
É muito evidente que o propósito de João é evangelizar judeus e prosélitos. Ele é consciente da ‘pedra de tropeço’ que a cruz é para os judeus (1Coríntios 1:23), deixando claro o objetivo de tornar coerente a noção do Messias crucificado. Assim, não remove a ofensa que, na cruz, está intrínseca. O que ele sente que tem que fazer, pode fazer, e termina fazendo, são duas coisas: a) demonstrar que a cruz estava lá desde o princípio do ministério de Jesus, que é anunciado como “Cordeiro de Deus”; b) mostrar que a cruz é, ao mesmo tempo, nada menos que um plano de Deus, a evidência da rejeição de um povo a seu Messias, o meio para que Cristo retornasse para a presença do Pai, o centro dos inexplicáveis propósitos de Deus para efetuar a purificação e a vida ao seu povo, o despontar da prometida era escatológica e o inusitado projeto divino em trazer glória a Si mesmo ao ser glorificado em Seu Messias. É por ter esse foco tão definido, que João não fala nada sobre a transfiguração.
Esse propósito pode ser identificado quando analisa-se de perto o “trama” do evangelho de João. Não é um “enredo” montado simplesmente em narrativa de eventos em seqüência. Explicando: quando dizemos “O patrão gritou, e o empregado gritou também”, isso é uma história. Agora, quando dizemos “O patrão gritou inocentemente, e o empregado gritou também, mas de raiva”, isso é um enredo. Apesar de que os acontecimentos são preservados em sua ordem cronológica, esta ordem traz a noção de causalidade. É por isso que o “drama” do evangelho de João apresenta-se de forma tão concisa, estando amarrado, por fim, a algumas coisas: a)ao que poderíamos chamar de “momento X”; b)ao objetivo divino no plano da redenção fundamental para todo o testemunho cristão; c)à morte; d)à ressurreição e exaltação de Cristo Jesus; e e)à necessidade urgente de uma crença autêntica no curso daquele acontecimento. Logo, ao longo do livro, nada detém o autor a trabalhar na ênfase do ponto cruz, ao ponto de, se preciso, chegar a pressionar qualquer ser humano a entrar em concordância neste ponto vitalmente salvívico.
Este objetivo de João é totalmente responsável pela pintura tão maravilhosa das suas ênfases teológicas. Estas ênfases apresentam-se de forma tão integrada que, se há uma tentativa de compartimentalizar a idéia central, separando os seus componentes em itens, termina-se, em grande parte, desfigurando-lhes. E como tudo se condensa? No título que o apóstolo escolhe dar a Jesus: “Palavra”, que, no princípio, sendo Deus, expressou-se a nós.
