BUSQUE A DEUS
JÓ 20-21
Na primeira parte da leitura de hoje (capítulo 20), aparece o discurso de Zofar, num tom sarcástico de acusação ao seu amigo Jó. Ele queria dar uma explicação para o sofrimento de Jó, jogando toda a responsabilidade da situação nas costas dele.
Em grande parte, esse discurso termina imitando o que os outros dois amigos, Bildade e Elifaz, já destacaram na discussão deles. A diferença é que Zofar vai mais ao ponto, inclusive, com mais hostilidade. Ele é muito sínico e insinua coisas terríveis como: “Ele tem oprimido os pobres e os tem deixado desamparados; apoderou-se de casas que não construiu” (verso 19). Zofar continua discriminando os crimes específicos que fazem dos ímpios pessoas culpadas, deixando a entender que Jó participava dessa “laia”.
E é com essa ignorante “cara de pau” que os amigos de Jó continuam afirmando que ele é merecedor de todas as desgraças que bateram à sua porta. Não se cansam de pensar assim e ainda fazem um grande esforço para convencê-lo a pensar da mesma forma. Ao levar Jó a reconhecer isso, quem sabe ele tomaria uma atitude que o livrasse da culpa que supostamente tivesse perante o Senhor. Os amigos de Jó acreditavam que ele só poderia achar o caminho de volta se reconhecesse o pensamento deles e agisse como eles achavam que ele deveria agir.
É claro que esses amigos não estavam fazendo nada mais que expressar o pensamento popular da época. Se compararmos isso com João 9:1-3, concluímos que não podemos estabelecer uma relação direta entre cada uma das ações humanas e todas as consequências de cada uma delas. Corremos o risco de nos enganar com isso, principalmente se a tentativa de relacionar os atos com as consequências estiver limitada a olhar numa perspectiva que se limite somente a esta vida. A variação disso tudo pode ser muito grande e muito além da nossa compreensão. Ou seja, se meter a querer interpretar absolutamente todos os fatos como os amigos de Jó estavam tentando fazer, é “dar murro em ponta de faca”.
Mas, apesar desse escrúpulo dos amigos de Jó, Deus ainda era o centro da vida dele (capítulo 21) e tinha participação em tudo o que ele já tinha feito. Jó tinha a consciência tranquila. Embora fosse um pecador, não era um “pecadeiro”. Essa integridade foi mantida no decorrer de toda a sua vida. E isso lhe ajudou a ficar em paz, mesmo diante de tantas acusações.
Embora o ser humano chegue ao fim dos seus recursos, sua saúde e até sua esperança, ainda pode encontrar conforto buscando a presença de Deus em sua vida.
