Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thy iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

Zacarias 01-04
Lembro-me, como se fosse hoje, do constrangimento que passei, na entrevista de admissão do meu primeiro emprego depois de terminar minha primeira faculdade. Eu era novo e inexperiente.
Saíra da formatura e tinha ido viajar com meus melhores amigos. Estava no sul do Chile, quando recebi o chamado urgente. Deveria passar em São Paulo e depois estar em Brasília em poucos dias. Foi uma correria: caronas, ônibus, táxis... Mas cheguei a tempo, mas não a contento. Depois de viajar mais de 6000 Kms, suado, barbudo, cabeludo e com a mesmo jeans de alguns dias, eu não tinha escolha. Ou entrava, naquele momento, na sala do presidente, ou não teria tempo para agarrar o emprego. O que acha que escolhi?
É claro que eu me sentia um porco. Roupas sujas fazem isso com a gente. Elas fazem com que nos sintamos envergonhados e embaraçados. Imagine-se na presença de alguém importante, cheirando a gambá, e cheio de manchas. E se houvesse ainda um assistente de pé perto de você, rindo e apontando, não teria vontade de fugir e esconder-se?
Esse foi o tipo de situação que o sumo-sacerdote Josué enfrentou na visão de Zacarias: de pé diante do anjo do Senhor, trajando roupas sujas, com Satanás ali perto pronto para apontar todos os seus pecados e erros passados.
Nós também nos sentimos assim às vezes. Um erro, uma escorregada no pecado, é como uma mancha embaraçosa. Pode nos deixar encolhidos o restante do dia, ou pelo resto da vida. E Satanás aproveita cada oportunidade para nos lembrar nossas manchas.
Mas Deus toma medidas drásticas. Ele arranca nossas roupas sujas. Depois nos reveste de vestes nobres. Ou, como diz o livro de Apocalipse, “linho fino, brilhante e puro”. Aqueles que usam essas roupas brancas “lavaram as suas vestes e as alvejaram no sangue do Cordeiro” (Apocalipse 19:8; 7:14).
Na próxima vez em que você pecar, na próxima vez em que você ouvir a voz de Satanás acusando-o de coisas erradas que fez, faça este exercício em sua imaginação espiritual. Primeiro, saia dessas roupas sujas. Depois lave-as no sangue de Jesus. Tire-as, brancas e reluzentes, e vista-as de novo. Agora coloque-se diante de Deus, diante dos anjos e diante do grande Acusador, vestido em trajes finos e limpos, de cabeça erguida, porque você é feito e considerado um vencedor.
O otimismo de Zacarias (veja também Isaías 1:18) é a garantia de que a nossa admissão não é baseada no que somos, mas no que Deus vê que podemos chegar a ser.
