When the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.

Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brothers, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

"They set the altar on its base; for fear was on them because of the peoples of the countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon to Yahweh, even burnt offerings morning and evening."

"They kept the feast of tents, as it is written, and [offered] the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the ordinance, as the duty of every day required;"

and afterward the continual burnt offering, and [the offerings] of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of Yahweh that were consecrated, and of everyone who willingly offered a freewill offering to Yahweh.

From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings to Yahweh: but the foundation of the temple of Yahweh was not yet laid.

"They gave money also to the masons, and to the carpenters; and food, and drink, and oil, to them of Sidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia."

Now in the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brothers the priests and the Levites, and all those who were come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to have the oversight of the work of the house of Yahweh.

Then stood Jeshua with his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to have the oversight of the workmen in the house of God: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brothers the Levites.

When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of Yahweh, they set the priests in their clothing with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise Yahweh, after the order of David king of Israel.

OSÉIAS
Oséias 01-04
Neste dia, iniciaremos a leitura do livro de Oséias, cuja palavra significa “salvação”. E quero compartilhar algumas curiosidades sobre quem foi Oséias e sobre seu livro.
Oséias era filho de Beeri, um israelita, e seu ministério durou uns sessenta anos. Ele viveu na mesma época que Isaías e Miquéias. A mensagem dele, de primeira mão, era específica para o reino de Israel, o reino do Norte. Ele realmente era muito apto para a tarefa que tinha para realizar porque, como ele natural daquela região, conhecia muito bem as más condições que eram existentes em Israel naquela época. Isso deu um peso especial para sua mensagem.
Esse profeta teve um chamado muito estranho. Foi chamado para se casar com uma mulher que tinha tendências para ter uma vida sexual desregrada, promíscua. Ela não conseguiu se manter fiel ao casamento. Essa luta de Oseías para manter o lar, ajudando a esposa a ser uma mulher fiel, foi uma ilustração que Deus usou para dar uma mensagem espiritual para o povo de quem Oseías era profeta. A mensagem era: a apostasia equivale ao adultério, espiritualmente falando.
Em Oséias 2:23, percebemos que Deus é o esposo, numa comparação com Isaías 54:5. Encontramos a “esposa” em Oséias 2:2 que é, na realidade, o povo de Deus. Esse relacionamento de Deus com Israel era semelhante a um casamento. A apostasia de Israel veio simbolizada pela experiência do profeta em seu matrimônio, nos capítulos 1, 2 e 3, quando a esposa o traiu.
Depois disso, a partir do capítulo 4, entramos uma série de discursos proféticos que vão até o capítulo 13. E o capítulo 14 é, na realidade, uma chamada formal ao arrependimento, que contém promessas de bênçãos futuras.
Ao longo do livro de Oséias, você vai se deparar com várias figuras diferentes, que Deus usou para ilustrar a deplorável condição de Israel. Por exemplo, no capítulo 7:8, diz que Israel misturava-se com as nações, deixando de ser a nação separada e santa. É curioso que nesse mesmo versículo, fala que Israel é um “bolo”, que enquanto estava assando, não foi virado, de maneira que um lado ficou cru, e o outro, sapecado. Em outras palavras, a farinha mal assada só expressa a tibieza de coração daquele povo e de qualquer pessoa que se apostate de Deus.
Deus olha para a sua amizade com Ele como a coisa mais linda deste mundo, como se fosse uma noiva diante do altar, toda vestida de branco. A quebra dessa fidelidade seria como se aquela noiva saísse correndo do altar e se lambuzasse nas imundícias dos piores prostíbulos.
