because that an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and showing of enigmas, and loosing of knots was found in him, in Daniel, whose name the king made Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and the interpretation he doth show.`

Then Daniel hath been caused to come up before the king; answered hath the king, and said to Daniel, `Thou art that Daniel who [art] of the sons of the Removed of Judah, whom the king my father brought in out of Judah?

`And now, caused to come up before me have been the wise men, the enchanters, that this writing they may read, and its interpretation to cause me to know: and they are not able to shew the interpretation of the thing:

and I -- I have heard of thee, that thou art able to give interpretations, and to loose knots: now, lo -- thou art able to read the writing, and its interpretation to cause me to know -- purple thou dost put on, and a bracelet of gold [is] on thy neck, and third in the kingdom thou dost rule.`

Then hath Daniel answered and said before the king, `Thy gifts be to thyself, and thy fee to another give; nevertheless, the writing I do read to the king, and the interpretation I cause him to know;

Hoje você começa a estudar o livro de Ezequiel. Serão duas semanas inteiras, lendo somente este livro. Portanto, uma introdução ao mesmo é oportuna. E para a mesma, conto aqui com uma ajuda externa, através de uma palavra orientadora e introdutória do professor de teologia Siegfried J. Schwantes, quanto ao livro de Ezequiel. Boa leitura.
O livro de Ezequiel está cheio de visões e profecias reveladas pelo Senhor a Seu profeta. E de acordo com o Ph.D. que citei no parágrafo acima, ainda que estas revelações foram dadas ao povo de Deus durante o cativeiro babilônico, muitas ainda estão por se cumprir.
No livro de Ezequiel encontram-se alertas de castigo por práticas pecaminosas e obstinadas, todavia há gloriosas promessas de encorajamento para aqueles que procuram honrar a Deus mesmo no meio de pesadas provações.
De maneira geral os estudantes da Bíblia ficam perplexos com as visões de difícil compreensão apresentadas por este profeta e falham em perceber a mensagem central de Deus de que Ele é o Senhor. Porém, para o estudioso aplicado este livro não oferecerá nenhuma dificuldade se fizer uma comparação cuidadosa de texto com texto das Sagradas Escrituras, preservando-se das interpretações particulares que não se harmonizam com o todo da Palavra de Deus.
Logo, você já percebeu que é necessário, mais do que ler Ezequiel, estudar este livro. Procure, de maneira agradável, como um dedicado estudante do Livro Sagrado, a compreender a verdade e as argumentações básicas das visões deste profeta, bem como suas profecias simbólicas. Você pode, além de estudar segundo o nosso plano de leitura diária, estudar o livro por seções, para que, em cada uma delas, consiga captar a idéia central e analisar os temas maiores, tratando igualmente de vários problemas que vão se apresentando. Como?
Quer entender Ezequiel? Em primeiro lugar, pedindo ao Espírito Santo que ilumine a sua mente, através da oração e meditação, cada vez que for estudar. Somada a isto, vem a necessidade de não fazer uma leitura superficial, mas profunda, talvez relendo várias vezes, e fazendo anotações. A fazer as releituras, use diferentes versões da tradução bíblica, e compare-as. Para encontrar uma divisão correta das seções, oriente-se através dos títulos e subtítulos da Nova Versão Internacional. Acompanhe o nosso comentário diário deste plano de leitura da Bíblia.
