And when the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were in the towns, the people came together like one man to Jerusalem.

|Esdras 3:2|
Then Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, with his brothers, got up and made the altar of the God of Israel for burned offerings as is recorded in the law of Moses, the man of God.

They put the altar on its base; for fear was on them because of the people of the countries: and they made burned offerings on it to the Lord, even burned offerings morning and evening.

And they kept the feast of tents, as it is recorded, making the regular burned offerings every day by number, as it is ordered; for every day what was needed.

And after that, the regular burned offering and the offerings for the new moons and all the fixed feasts of the Lord which had been made holy, and the offering of everyone who freely gave his offering to the Lord.

From the first day of the seventh month they made a start with the burned offerings, but the base of the Temple of the Lord had still not been put in its place.

And they gave money to the stoneworkers and woodworkers; and meat and drink and oil to the people of Zidon and of Tyre, for the transport of cedar-trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, as Cyrus, king of Persia, had given them authority to do.

Now in the second year of their coming into the house of God in Jerusalem, in the second month, the work was taken in hand by Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brothers the priests and the Levites, and all those who had come from the land where they were prisoners to Jerusalem: and they made the Levites, of twenty years old and over, responsible for overseeing the work of the house of the Lord.

Then Jeshua with his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel with his sons, the sons of Hodaviah, together took up the work of overseeing the workmen in the house of God: the sons of Henadad with their sons and their brothers, the Levites.

And when the builders put in position the base of the Temple of the Lord, the priests, dressed in their robes, took their places with horns, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with brass instruments, to give praise to the Lord in the way ordered by David, king of Israel.

Hebreus 10-11
Continuando o assunto de ontem, analisemos um trecho da leitura de hoje.
“Sem misericórdia morre pelo depoimento de duas ou três testemunhas quem tiver rejeitado a lei de Moisés (Hebreus 10:28)”.
Este verbo, “rejeitado”, que aparece no versículo, vem de um termo grego que significa “negar-se a reconhecer”, “recusar”, “anular”. Os que recusavam a lei de Moisés o faziam atuando em aberta violação dos seus preceitos. Depreciavam a autoridade da lai e desafiavam a jurisdição que a mesma teria sobre eles.
Esta lei, era todo o código legal promulgado por Moisés sob a direção divina, particularmente como aparece registrada no livro de Deuteronômio (31:24-26).
Aqui se fala de “duas ou três testemunhas”. No caso de um crime grave, por exemplo, um assassinato, Moisés estipulava que pelo menos duas testemunhas deveriam concordar quanto aos detalhes essenciais, antes de que se pudesse pronunciar um veredito de culpabilidade. Esta estipulação misericordiosa e sábia tinha o propósito de desestimular falsas acusações, e de assegurar que houvesse justiça. Este mesmo princípio é válido na atualidade.
A expressão “sem misericória” denotava que não havia possibilidade de apelação à sentença. Não havia uma corte superior a que se recorrer para revisar o caso. Este é o ponto teológico. Hoje, se Satanás nos acusar, temos uma corte celestial a que recorrer. Não havia escapatória para o castigo que era prescrito pelos reclamos da lei. Os apóstatas reconhecidos como tais, deveriam morrer para que a sua influência não se propagasse aos outros.
Filhinhos eu vos escrevo estas coisas para que não pequeis. Todavia se pecardes, tendes um advogado junto ao Pai, que é Jesus Cristo (1João 1:21).
Porque temos que ter consciência de que, sem vigilância e sem o apoio de Deus, é possível cair dá fé. “Porque, se vivermos deliberadamente em pecado, depois de termos recebido o pleno conhecimento da verdade, já não resta sacrifício pelos pecados; pelo contrário, certa expectação horrível de juízo e fogo vingador prestes a consumir os adversários”. (Hebreus 10:26-27 RA).
O cristão deve ser muito cuidadoso em não desobedecer conscientemente os mandamentos de Deus. A prática voluntária do pecado afasta o cristão de Cristo; e longe de Cristo não há salvação.
Portanto não devemos temer a perseguição religiosa ou o escárnio por seguirmos o Mestre, devemos temer, sim, o abandonarmos o caminho que sabemos ser o correto. Por isso, ao nos tornarmos membros de uma comunidade local do Corpo de Cristo, não devemos olhar para as pessoas que nos cercam, suas faltas ou defeitos. Devemos olhar para Cristo. Ele é o nosso modelo e o nosso guia.
“Não deixemos de reunir-nos como igreja... procuremos encorajar-nos uns aos outros... (Hebreus 10:25)”
