How has the daughter of Zion been covered with a cloud by the Lord in his wrath! he has sent down from heaven to earth the glory of Israel, and has not kept in memory the resting-place of his feet in the day of his wrath.

The Lord has given up to destruction all the living-places of Jacob without pity; pulling down in his wrath the strong places of the daughter of Judah, stretching out on the earth the wounded, even her king and her rulers.

In his burning wrath every horn of Israel has been cut off; his right hand has been turned back before the attacker: he has put a fire in Jacob, causing destruction round about.

His bow has been bent for the attack, he has taken his place with his hand ready, in his hate he has put to death all who were pleasing to the eye: on the tent of the daughter of Zion he has let loose his passion like fire.

The Lord has become like one fighting against her, sending destruction on Israel; he has sent destruction on all her great houses, making waste his strong places: increasing the grief and the sorrow of the daughter of Judah.

And he has violently taken away his tent, as from a garden; he has made waste his meeting-place: the Lord has taken away the memory of feast and Sabbath in Zion, and in the passion of his wrath he is against king and priest.

The Lord has given up his altar and has been turned in hate from his holy place; he has given up into the hands of the attacker the walls of her great houses: their voices have been loud in the house of the Lord as in the day of a holy meeting.

It is the Lord's purpose to make waste the wall of the daughter of Zion; his line has been stretched out, he has not kept back his hand from destruction: he has sent sorrow on tower and wall, they have become feeble together.

Her doors have gone down into the earth; he has sent destruction on her locks: her king and her princes are among the nations where the law is not; even her prophets have had no vision from the Lord.

The responsible men of the daughter of Zion are seated on the earth without a word; they have put dust on their heads, they are clothed in haircloth: the heads of the virgins of Jerusalem are bent down to the earth.

SAUL PROFETIZOU NU?
1Samuel 17-19
Da mesma forma que ontem, hoje também quero explicar uma passagem bíblica de difícil interpretação. Uma ouvinte da nossa rádio, que está acostumada a ouvir nosso serviço de áudio, nos escreveu lá de Jandaia do Sul, PR, para fazer uma pergunta pertinente a uma passagem bíblica que está na leitura de hoje. Eis a questão:
“Gostaria que me explicassem a mensagem do capítulo 19:l9-24 de 1Samuel. O que quer dizer o rei ir profetizando por todo o caminho e chegando na casa dos profetas, tirou a roupa e profetizou o dia inteiro e a noite inteira? O que significa o fato de ele ter ficado nu?”
Responderei a pergunta dela aqui, porque esse pode ser o questionamento de outras pessoas também. E é um prazer esclarecer as dúvidas dos amigos e irmãos que sejam participantes desse nosso ministério de comentários bíblicos.
Essa pessoa questiona sobre algo realmente curioso, mas não tão problemático. O primeiro passo para entender essa passagem é lê-la em pelo menos cinco versões diferentes da Bíblia. E aqui, há alguns preâmbulos dos quais não podemos nos esquecer:
1. A casa dos profetas era o seminário da época.
O comentário bíblico SDABC nos explica que a expressão original hebraica pode indicar vários modos, como: maltrapilho, vestido de maneira pobre, vestido com uma só roupa ou tendo tirado o manto. Essas diferentes formas de traduzir o mesmo termo original estão em nossas versões para a língua portuguesa nas seguintes passagens: (Jó 1:21; 22: 6; 24: 7, 10; Isaías 58:7; 20:2).
2. “Tirar a roupa” pode não significar “tirar TODA a roupa”.
Pelo costume da época e o contexto da narração, é muito provável que Saul tenha tirado o seu manto real e permanecido somente com sua roupa comum. Existia a túnica interna que era uma prenda interior usada somente dentro de casa. Na rua, o manto exterior ou a capa era apenas jogado por cima. Despojado de seu manto real, talvez Saul ficou vestido à semelhança de um dos alunos da escola dos profetas.
Nessa ocasião, é provável que o Espírito Santo tenha se apossado de Saul, pessoalmente, pela última vez. A história dele nos mostra o fato de que se alguém é um representante de Deus hoje, não significa ter, para sempre garantida, sua salvação. E é exatamente por isso que devemos vigiar e orar sempre, pois enquanto vivermos aqui, estaremos correndo o risco da apostasia.
Mas em Cristo podemos todas as coisas! Portanto, apelo a você para que estude a Bíblia por dois motivos: para que cresça em informações e no relacionamento para com seu bondoso e cuidadoso Deus. Você será o beneficiado!
