|Neemias 8:1|
And when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their towns. And all the people came together like one man into the wide place in front of the water-doorway; and they made a request to Ezra the scribe that he would put before them the book of the law of Moses which the Lord had given to Israel.

|Neemias 8:2|
And Ezra the priest put the law before the meeting of the people, before the men and women and all those who were able to take it in, on the first day of the seventh month.

|Neemias 8:3|
He was reading it in the wide place in front of the water-doorway, from early morning till the middle of the day, in the hearing of all those men and women whose minds were able to take it in; and the ears of all the people were open to the book of the law.

And Ezra the scribe took his place on a tower of wood which they had made for the purpose; and by his side were placed Mattithiah and Shema and Anaiah and Uriah and Hilkiah and Maaseiah on the right; and on the left, Pedaiah and Mishael and Malchijah and Hashum and Hashbaddanah, Zechariah and Meshullam.

And Ezra took the book, opening it before the eyes of all the people (for he was higher than the people); and when it was open, all the people got to their feet:

And Ezra gave praise to the Lord, the great God. And all the people in answer said, So be it, so be it; lifting up their hands; and with bent heads they gave worship to the Lord, going down on their faces to the earth.

And Jeshua and Bani and Sherebiah and Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites made the law clear to the people: and the people kept in their places.

And they gave out the words of the book the law of God, clearly, and gave the sense of it, so that their minds were able to take it in.

And Nehemiah, who was the Tirshatha, and Ezra, the priest and scribe, and the Levites who were the teachers of the people, said to all the people, This day is holy to the Lord your God; let there be no sorrow or weeping; for all the people were weeping on hearing the words of the law.

Then he said to them, Go away now, and take the fat for your food and the sweet for your drink, and send some to him for whom nothing is made ready: for this day is holy to our Lord: and let there be no grief in your hearts; for the joy of the Lord is your strong place.

O SACERDÓCIO CONTINUA ATÉ HOJE
Êxodo 28-29
Um dos dias mais importantes da nossa vida, como casal, foi o dia da nossa ordenação (06/12/2008) ao ministério pastoral. Muita tensão, muita angústia, muita alegria, muita bênção, muita unção, muita comunhão. O dia da ordenação pastoral é o dia da confirmação de que a pessoa está realmente ingressando no ministério efetivo de forma reconhecida e autorizada. E para isso, a bênção de Deus é o principal. No tempo mosaico, isso acontecia através da consagração dos sacerdotes, como você pode observar na leitura de hoje.
Os ensinos do Novo Testamento transferem o sacerdócio para toda a pessoa que seja crente em Jesus (Hebreus 7 em comparação com 1Pedro 2). Russell Burrill, em seu livro “Revolução na Igreja”, apresenta um estudo que nos mostra como a “consagração” de Êxodo 29 acontece nos moldes neo-testamentários. É através da imposição de mãos. O evangelho prevê que cada novo convertido ao cristianismo nasça no reino de Deus como um discípulo, missionário. E isso acontece pelo recebimento do Espírito Santo. Todos nós podemos e precisamos ser batizados com o Espírito Santo. Isso é o que nos capacita como sacerdotes modernos de Jesus.
A cerimônia de ordenação citada que a Fátima e eu fomos investidos é apenas uma separação funcional para um trabalho de caráter mais clerical. No cristianismo, as diferenças entre um clérigo e um laico estão apenas nas funções e no tempo, mas não na importância da pessoa. Um pastor trabalha no ministério a todo tempo de forma integral, o membro da igreja mescla tal serviço com o seu trabalho secular; por estar mais integralmente envolvido, o pastor tem mais atribuições dentro do ministério que o membro da igreja; logo, o pastor é o apoio ao membro, a equipe de staff, a base, o servo. Mas ambos, pastor e membro da igreja, são importantes para Deus de forma igual.
Jesus foi quem deixou o exemplo mais nítido do que é ser um líder servo. Afinal, ele é o bom (the best) pastor (João 10), e todos nós, ovelhas do seu pasto (Salmo 95:7). Mas essa revelação de liderança serviçal mais explícita na vida de Jesus é apenas a expressão máxima do que o sacerdócio e tudo o que o envolvia, representava no tempo de Moisés. Quando você ler Êxodo 28-29, lembre-se que cada detalhe dessa leitura simboliza alguma coisa no ministério de Cristo. E, por conseqüência de Ele compartilhar tal ministério conosco, cada detalhe também deve nos ensinar alguma lição sobre a nossa maneira de vivermos atualmente como testemunhas do Reino.
Uma das melhores experiências que podemos ter é consagrar-nos a Deus. Busque o batismo do Espírito Santo!
