|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, who were carried away captive to Babylon.

And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him, The LORD thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place.

Now the LORD hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.

And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thy hand. If it seemeth good to thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well to thee: but if it seemeth ill to thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.

Now while he had not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wherever it seemeth convenient to thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him provisions and a reward, and let him go.

Then Jeremiah went to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.

Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;

Then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, swore to them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to serve the Chaldeans, who will come to us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.

SEM IDIOTICES!
Gálatas 01-03
“Assim, a lei foi o nosso tutor até Cristo, para que fôssemos justificados pela fé (Gálatas 3:24)”. Como entender este verso? Imagine a cena.
Bem vestida, adornada, maquiada e com o cabelo preparado. A mulher entra na sala de espera, de um ambiente, embora coletivo, altamente requintado. Várias outras estão no recinto, sentadas ou em pé, conversando, lendo ou sem fazer nada, mas todas atentas a tudo que se passa ao redor. Aquela que acaba de chegar passa pelo meio da sala tentando firmar a melhor postura possível, senta-se numa poltrona bem posicionada, cruza as pernas, dá um sorriso para todas.
Incrível! Todas sorriem para ela! E mais incrível ainda, é que os sorrisos continuam. Agora não para ela, mas para baixo, para trás de uma mão que tenta disfarçar e esconder o rosto, para o sorriso de outra amiga que esteja perto, menos para ela... Logo ela percebe: os sorrisos não são para ela, mas sobre ela. “Estão rindo de mim!”, é o apavorante pensamento que lhe sobe à espinha. Puxa o mini vestido em direção ao joelho, olha o busto, arruma o bracelete, joga o cabelo... E os olhares esquisitos em sua direção continuam. “O que será?”. Que perturbador!
A descoberta se lhe sobrevêm de um espelho arrancado da bolsa apressadamente. Ao mirar sua ferramenta do kit de embelezamento, a pecinha de vidro metalizado lhe mostra uma inesperada e incrível mancha no rosto. O nítido, grande e espalhafatoso borrão negro lhe assusta. Enquanto arregala os olhos, dá um suspiro, empina o tórax, e começa a entrar em pânico. “Algo precisa ser feito!”, é o que ela pensa!
Pensa e faz. Rapidamente começa a friccionar o espelho na mancha do rosto, na tentativa de limpá-la. A mancha se espalha ainda mais, passando agora para o espelho, e conseqüentemente para as mãos. Afastando um pouco o espelho, ao mirá-lo, vê mais borrões do que anteriormente. E mais risos, também, podem ser ouvidos. Que desespero! Ela então insiste em esfregar o espelho no rosto, de forma mais forte ainda, com mais velocidade! Mas não consegue entender por quê o espelho não limpa a mancha. Afinal, o espelho não lhe mostrara a mancha?
É assim que fazemos, a cada vez que, ao identificarmos o nosso pecado através do que a lei nos mostra, tentamos usar a lei para nos “redimir”. A Lei de Deus é o espelho (Romanos 3:20; 7:7; Tiago 1:22-25) que nos faz ir até à fonte da Água da Vida (1Coríntios 10:14), que é Jesus. Só Ele, pode lavar-nos, com Seu sangue, e nos deixar totalmente isentos das nossas manchas de pecado. Não sejamos idiotas! Busquemo-Lo!
