The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, who were carried away captive to Babylon.

And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him, The LORD thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place.

Now the LORD hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.

And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thy hand. If it seemeth good to thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well to thee: but if it seemeth ill to thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.

Now while he had not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wherever it seemeth convenient to thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him provisions and a reward, and let him go.

Then Jeremiah went to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.

Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;

Then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, swore to them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to serve the Chaldeans, who will come to us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.

HERANÇA DEIXADA POR UM CRENTE
Gênesis 48-50
No comentário de hoje, quero falar de coisas boas com você. Ontem, comentei sobre vários problemas sociais. A sociedade sempre enfrenta suas dificuldades; foi no tempo de Jacó, de José do Egito e tem sido ao longo da História. As desgraças estão sempre por aí. Mas não é só de coisa ruim que se vive.
“No mundo ainda existem belezas, que alegram a vida e nos fazem sonhar”, como diz a bela canção escrita por Valdecir Lima. Ainda existem recantos felizes da natureza, onde qualquer ser humano gostaria de estar. Ou seja, ainda temos nossas alegrias para compartilharmos uns com os outros e desfrutarmos delas.
A primeira boa notícia é que hoje, dia 16 de janeiro, ainda no começo do ano, já estamos terminando a nossa leitura do primeiro livro da Bíblia: Gênesis. É o livro que conta a história das nossas origens e os começos primordiais da História humana. Então, essa é uma comemoração, certo?
Já terminamos de ler o primeiro livro da Bíblia! Nessa comemoração, já lhe faço um convite: não fique fora desse programa, por favor. Participe conosco! Aliás, participe com Deus, da leitura diária da palavra dEle. Se você participar, a cada dia, lendo, particularmente, na sua Bíblia, uns três capítulos, acompanhando como sugere o nosso projeto de leitura anual da Bíblia, no final do ano, você poderá comemorar por ter lido a Bíblia inteira.
No relato de hoje, têm muitas coisas boas. Existem as coisas ruins também, mas o capítulo 48 apresenta uma narrativa de bênçãos que Jacó passou para seus filhos. O velhinho Jacó estava para morrer. Então, ele chamou seus herdeiros, um por um, porque ele queria deixar alguma coisa muito boa para eles.
O melhor presente que um pai pode dar a um filho é a sua bênção. Eu tenho consciência de que se minha vida é tão abençoada hoje, é porque, antes de falecer, meu pai orou muito por mim. A oração de um pai e de uma mãe por um filho é muito poderosa. E meu pai também, como aconteceu com Jacó, também morreu bem longe da terra natal dele. Quando meu pai faleceu, estávamos morando no estado do Tocantins. Mas, mesmo depois de muitos anos que saí de lá, nunca vou esquecer-me de que o cristianismo vivido pelo meu pai me deixou uma herança muito grande por sua influência.
Que essa herança influencia tanto os filhos, você pode ver no próprio final da história, observando sobre como José e os irmãos dele foram felizes. Se você é pai ou mãe, não sei, mas pode abençoar outros orando por eles. Ore por seus queridos!
