The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, who were carried away captive to Babylon.

And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him, The LORD thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place.

Now the LORD hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.

And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thy hand. If it seemeth good to thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well to thee: but if it seemeth ill to thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.

Now while he had not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wherever it seemeth convenient to thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him provisions and a reward, and let him go.

Then Jeremiah went to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.

Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;

Then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, swore to them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to serve the Chaldeans, who will come to us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.

JUSTIÇA SEJA FEITA
Deuteronômio 21-23
Aparício Lamounier Vilela, de Campo Belo, Minas Gerais, foi condenado e preso em 1927, acusado de ter matado seu próprio tio. Ele protestava, dizendo que era inocente, mas não era isso o que a Justiça apontava. Quatro anos depois, os bens de Aparício, em sacrifício financeiro de sua própria família, foram leiloados pela justiça para indenizar a família do assassinado. Como o acusado continuava alegando sua inocência e sua família o apoiasse, o sistema judiciário continuou sendo procurado para rever o caso, por muitos anos. Mais de duas décadas se passaram e a promotoria mantinha sua posição. Mas, em 1952, o fazendeiro Saturnino Vilela Filho resolve confessar sua responsabilidade pelo assassinato. A Justiça foi obrigada a reconhecer que estava errada.
Mas se era “justiça”, como poderia ser errada? Como um sistema que fez com que um homem inocente perdesse metade de sua vida no isolamento, separação, humilhação e vergonha, poderia ser chamado de “justiça”? Como reparar um erro tão grande?
A verdade é que o ser humano, por mais que tente ser justo, é muito falho. Assim como um educador passa muito trabalho com uma criança que é indisciplinada, na leitura de hoje, encontramos Deus em um grande empenho para ajudar Seus filhos a ter um pouco de disciplinas em suas leis. Leia Deuteronômio 21-23 em uma versão moderna da Bíblia, como a Nova Versão Internacional ou a Nova Tradução na Linguagem de Hoje. Você perceberá que um grande número, senão a maior parte daquelas regras ainda são aproveitáveis para nós, em pleno século XXI. Talvez não a regra exatamente no seu sentido restrito, mas o princípio que se aplica por trás dela.
Apesar do fato de que existe tanta maldade entre os seres humanos, Deus tem um profundo interesse em ajudar o homem a acertar na vida. Desde os tempos antigos, Ele age assim. Veja esse reflexo da leitura de hoje: “...o Senhor, o seu Deus, não atendeu a Balaão, e transformou a maldição em bênção para vocês, pois o Senhor, o seu Deus, os ama (Deuteronômio 23: 5).”
Isso é para você também. Deus quer que a justiça seja feita na sua vida. Portanto, leia a Bíblia, pois foi Seu próprio Autor quem disse que felizes são aqueles que têm fome e sede de justiça. E é na Palavra de Deus que nós a encontramos. O meu desejo é que, assim como era para acontecer naquele antigo Israel, que aconteça na sua vida também: que a justiça seja feita. E para que ela lhe seja boa, trilhe nos caminhos justos.
Faça o que é certo, porque é certo e deixe o resto com Deus!
