|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, who were carried away captive to Babylon.

And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him, The LORD thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place.

Now the LORD hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.

And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thy hand. If it seemeth good to thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well to thee: but if it seemeth ill to thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.

Now while he had not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wherever it seemeth convenient to thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him provisions and a reward, and let him go.

Then Jeremiah went to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.

Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;

Then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, swore to them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to serve the Chaldeans, who will come to us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.

QUE GRANDE PRESENTE!

Qual é o maior presente que pode existir entre os seres humanos? Foi no começo de 2009 que comecei a trabalhar no comentário de hoje. Ao analisar o texto bíblico, perguntei à minha mãe o que ela achava. Sem técnicas acadêmicas teológicas, mas com a simplicidade de quem já aprendeu muito com sua existência, ela foi profundamente teológica quando disse que eu poderia, naquele momento, me comparar ao rei Salomão, me colocando, talvez, até acima dele.
Dei um sorriso e disse: Oh, mãe, estou falando sério! Mas ela disse que estava falando sério! Então, com o desafio dela, li o texto mais uma vez e vi que tinha razão em um aspecto. Naquele momento, eu estava passando por um momento muito feliz (continua até hoje), que é o fato de esperar, cuidar e curtir a existência de outro ser gerado de mim mesmo, um filho. Como a notícia de que seria pai me deixou feliz! Era o maior presente que eu estava recebendo no momento. Daí, deparei-me com Salomão concedendo uma entrevista para a rainha de Sabá.
Ela veio até o palácio do rei e o encheu de presentes. Mas sabe qual era o ponto que fazia com que os presentes recebidos por Salomão tivessem certa limitação? Eram presentes materiais, passageiros, limitados a este mundo.
Salomão tinha muitos outros dotes como sabedoria e mais sabedoria, fama e mais fama, riquezas e mais riquezas, presentes e mais presentes e muitas mulheres também. E assim foi seu reinado.
Esse é o contexto da leitura bíblica. Agora, questiono: você pegaria um filho seu e daria em troca da fama, riqueza e presentes que Salomão tinha ganhado? Em “sã consciência” nenhum ser humano faria isso, porque um filho é um presente de Deus, incomparável a qualquer coisa, por ter duas características: amor e vida humana, que pode ser eterna. Esse é o maior presente que pode existir entre os humanos e para os humanos: o dom da vida. Vá até um hospital e pergunte a um rico desenganado pelos médicos sobre isso para ver se não é verdade.
Você pode pedir sabedoria para Deus? Sim, pode! É um bom presente. Pode pedir fama também? É mais perigoso, mas a fama em si não é pecado. E riquezas? Alguém pode ser rico? Também pode ser complicado, mas é possível ser rico e cristão. Mas não existe um presente maior que Deus possa dar a você que sua vida e a vida dos seus queridos. De tudo o que Salomão teve, a única coisa boa que poderia sobreviver ao próprio tempo é a vida eterna.
E nós, como podemos aproveitar esse presente?
