Now in the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, when I was in my house and the responsible men of Judah were seated before me, the hand of the Lord came on me there.

And looking, I saw a form like fire; from the middle of his body and down there was fire: and up from the middle of his body a sort of shining, like electrum.

And he put out the form of a hand and took me by the hair of my head; and the wind, lifting me up between the earth and the heaven, took me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the way into the inner door facing to the north; where was the seat of the image of envy.

Then he said to me, Son of man, now let your eyes be lifted up in the direction of the north; and on looking in the direction of the north, to the north of the doorway of the altar, I saw this image of envy by the way in.

And he said to me, Son of man, do you see what they are doing? even the very disgusting things which the children of Israel are doing here, causing me to go far away from my holy place? but you will see other most disgusting things.

And he said to me, Son of man, make a hole in the wall: and after making a hole in the wall I saw a door.

O ARREPENDIMENTO SEM REMORSO É CURATIVO

Você já sentiu remorso? E arrependimento? Pensa que trata-se da mesma coisa? Não. A leitura bíblica de hoje fala de uma tristeza boa, que é a “tristeza segundo Deus”. Segundo a Bíblia, o bom desta tristeza é o fato de ela trazer o arrependimento, e não o remorso. O arrependimento é sadio. O remorso é venenoso.
Para que você entenda um pouco mais sobre as conseqüências do remorso, compartilho aqui uma história que encontrei no site “Nosso Pão Diário”. Conta-se que uma das personagens mais intrigantes de William Shakespeare é Lady MacBeth. Segundo o conto fictício do grande dramaturgo, euando esta senhora ouviu uma profecia que dizia que o seu marido se tornaria rei, ela o convenceu a assassinar o monarca então vigente.
Quando o ato sangrento foi levado a cabo, Macbeth ficou de consciência pesada. A esposa censurou a sua irritabilidade e ajudou-o a encobrir o crime.
O marido foi coroado rei. Mas isso não foi o fim da história. A resolução inicial de Lady transformou-se em remorso. Ela tornou-se mentalmente instável e não conseguia parar de lavar as mãos.
“Será que estas mãos nunca estarão limpas?”, perguntava ela. E a sua culpa acabou por levá-la ao suicídio. Grande coisa: uma “operação mãos limpas”! Isso lembra Pilatos, o camarada que sofreu de sentimento antecipado de culpa. Tanto o arrependimento quanto o remorso lidam com sentimento de culpa. O primeiro redime, o segundo destrói. O primeiro é um profundo senso moral que se entristece com o que é imoral. O segundo é simplesmente o medo das conseqüências dos atos maus. O primeiro é a vergonha na cara, o brio. O segundo é o orgulho em não pagar vexa, a auto-proteção egoística. A culpa é uma emoção que nos verga sempre que atravessamos uma fronteira moral.
Todos nós somos capazes de nos sentirmos culpados, quando violamos a lei de Deus escrita nos nossos corações (Leia Romanos 2:14-15). Uns lidam com a culpa como Pedro lidou, e dela se livram, ficando curados. Outros preferem agir como Judas, sendo assassinados pela própria culpa. E qual é a saída? Se confessarmos os nossos pecados, Jesus é fiel e justo para nos perdoar os pecados e nos purificar de toda injustiça (1João 1:9). Esta é uma oportunidade que todos têm.
“Pois todos nós devemos comparecer perante o tribunal de Cristo, para que cada um receba de acordo com as obras praticadas por meio do corpo, quer sejam boas, quer sejam más (1Coríntios 5:10)”. Mas se você estiver com Jesus, não há o que temer (1João 2:1), porque “se alguém está em Cristo, é nova criação (1Coríntios 5:17)”.
