At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam was sick.

And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and go to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, who told me that [I should be] king over this people.

And take with thee ten loaves, and cakes, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he will tell thee what shall become of the lad.

And Jeroboam's wife did so, and arose and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. And Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.

And Jehovah said to Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee about her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her; for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign to be another.

And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou to be another? But I am sent to thee with a hard [message].

Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel: Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,

and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee; and thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do only that which is right in my sight;

but thou hast done evil above all that were before thee, and hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:

therefore behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam every male, him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.

Revisão do Velho Testamento
Se você olhar para trás, para estes mais de 270 dias que já rolaram esse ano abaixo, como é que você consegue ver a sua vida? O que você fez? Leu o Antigo Testamento todo? E que impressão isso deixou na sua mente? Se você não leu, vou ilustrar o que quero perguntar, com outra fonte de conteúdo que costuma, diariamente, jogar informações para dentro da nossa mente. Refiro-me à mídia.
Na internet, normalmente, o jornal em que dou uma lida para atualizar-me é o “Estado de São Paulo”, por ter uma linha menos negativa, e mais neutra, o que já não é o caso da “Folha”. Não me demoro em ler notícias negativas; preferentemente as positivas. Costumo também ler, semanalmente, os jornais da minha cidade. Os noticiários locais também têm menos desgraças para contar.
Mas a triste realidade é a de que os órgãos de informação dão as notícias de forma segmentada, e conforme cada segmento, o colorido é diferente. Compare, por exemplo, a “Veja” com a “Exame”. Ambas, da mesma editora. Ambas, para trazer informação. Mas como são diferentes. Porque em cada uma se seleciona o que quer. A primeira tem uma determinada linha editorial “daquele” um jeito, enquanto que a outra apresenta informações de uma forma mais otimista.
Mas e qual é a mensagem mais oportuna de todas? Com qual mensagem devemos concordar. Falando em mídia, não posso deixar de elogiar aqui a Rádio Novo Tempo, é claro. Afinal de contas, é preciso selecionar, porque um fato com o qual, infelizmente, temos que concordar é o de que muito daquilo que é praticado na mídia diminui nossa capacidade de pensar e refletir sobre o que realmente é importante. Vende-se, constantemente, a mentira como se fosse verdade e fala-se da verdade como se fosse mentira. Inverte-se a realidade, desfocaliza-se, distorce-se, subverte-se. E nós continuamos a nos deixar seduzir por tanta desinformação.
Lembrei-me de que, recentemente, li um texto do sermão do monte que diz: “Se os seus olhos forem bons, todo o seu corpo será cheio de luz. Mas se os seus olhos forem maus, todo o seu corpo será cheio de trevas”. Você vai ler este verso em algum lugar da leitura que começaremos exatamente nesta época do ano: O Novo Testamento. Mas volto a perguntar: “como foi o seu ano até aqui?”. Você gastou tempo diário lendo a primeira linda metade da Bíblia? Se “sim” ou se “não”, que crescimentos isso trouxe-lhe, ou deixou de trazer? Pare! Reflita.
