On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews' enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was unto her.

And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.

And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.

Then the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther arose, and stood before the king,

And said, If it please the king, and if I have favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king's provinces:

For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?

Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews.

Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring: for the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse.

Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.

And he wrote in the king Ahasuerus' name, and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels, and young dromedaries:

VOE MAIS ALTO!
Lucas 09-11
Na leitura de hoje, encontramos o desafio da decolagem do cristianismo, em suas formas mais primitivas. Para ser enviado é preciso ter duas características contrastantes que, ironicamente, se harmonizam: submissão e coragem.
Submissão para esperar que o pão não seja comprado, mas provido; coragem para fazer uma confissão de pensamento revolucionário; submissão para contemplar a glória do pai, e não querer glória para si; coragem para enfrentar o poder do mal, em nome de Jesus; submissão para não querer ser o maior; coragem para enfrentar a oposição que muitos fazem ao ministério (Lucas 9).
Submissão para ser enviado por Cristo, aonde quer que Ele mandar; coragem para quebrar as regras que não passam de tradição opressora; submissão para sentar-se aos pés de Cristo; coragem para falar o que é preciso na hora certa (Lucas 10).
Submissão para aprender a ouvir a voz de Deus no encontro da oração; coragem para permanecer ao lado de Jesus, mesmo quando o cristianismo sofre acusações; submissão para aceitar a mensagem pela fé, e não pelos sinais de engano; coragem para ser uma candeia brilhante; submissão para aceitar o cristianismo do jeito de Cristo, e não do meu jeito; coragem para chamar o pecado pelo nome (Lucas 11).
Encontrei uma história que ilustra esse paradoxo coadunante, sobre um piloto que foi, ao mesmo tempo, submisso o suficiente para sofrer o que era preciso, mas corajoso o suficiente para alçar-se ao que era necessário. Conta-se que, logo após a segunda guerra mundial, este jovem inglês experimentava o seu frágil avião monomotor numa arrojada aventura ao redor do mundo. Pouco depois de decolar de um dos pequenos e improvisados aeródromos da Índia daquela época, ouviu um estranho ruído por trás do assento. Percebeu logo que havia um rato à bordo e que poderia, roendo a cobertura de lona, destruir seu frágil avião. Pensou em voltar ao aeroporto para se livrar de seu inesperado passageiro, mas isso iria atrasar e poderia até frustrar sua viagem. Lembrou-se, então, que os ratos não resistem às grandes alturas e voou cada vez mais alto e, pouco a pouco, cessaram-se os ruídos e perigos. Correu riscos, mas superou o problema.
Coragem e submissão lhe impulsionam a uma situação que podemos chamar de “um vôo mais alto”. Se estão tentando acabar com a sua missão, voe mais alto! Em caso de inveja, voe mais alto! Em caso de calúnia, voe mais alto! Em caso de maledicência, voe mais alto! Em caso de crítica maldosa, voe mais alto! Lembre-se: Os “ratos” não resistem às grandes alturas, pois não são corajosos nem submissos.
Voe! Voe mais alto!
