And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.

Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt-offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

And they set the altar upon its base; for fear was upon them because of the peoples of the countries: and they offered burnt-offerings thereon unto Jehovah, even burnt-offerings morning and evening.

And they kept the feast of tabernacles, as it is written, and [offered] the daily burnt-offerings by number, according to the ordinance, as the duty of every day required;

and afterward the continual burnt-offering, and [the offerings] of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of Jehovah that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a freewill-offering unto Jehovah.

From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt-offerings unto Jehovah: but the foundation of the temple of Jehovah was not yet laid.

They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and food, and drink, and oil, unto them of Sidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar-trees from Lebanon to the sea, unto Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.

Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem, and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to have the oversight of the work of the house of Jehovah.

Then stood Jeshua with his sons and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to have the oversight of the workmen in the house of God: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brethren the Levites.

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of Jehovah, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise Jehovah, after the order of David king of Israel.

Josué 14-17
O povo que Moisés tinha tirado do Egito estava viajando em direção à terra de Canaã, que ficava do lado Oeste do rio Jordão. Essa seria a posse deles. As terras a oeste do Jordão eram realmente a conquista do povo israelita. Em Josué 14, o líder do povo começa a divisão oficial da posse que aquele povo de Deus estava recebendo. Estou destacando esse detalhe, porque achei algo muito interessante nesse capítulo. Encontrei várias alusões, repetitivamente, parecendo não querer passar batido sobre a explicação de que aquilo que eles estavam conquistando não era uma consequência do que mereciam. Contando as alusões diretas e indiretas, só nesses 15 versos, 13 vezes o autor faz questão de colocar a pessoa, ação e responsabilidade de Deus bem no centro do cenário. Ele era o responsável por aquela conquista. Ao Senhor, seja dada toda honra e glória! Amém!
Quando recebe uma bênção, quem você diz que lhe deu? Veja o que está escrito em Tiago 4:13-15: “Ouçam agora, vocês que dizem: Hoje ou amanhã iremos para esta ou aquela cidade, passaremos um ano ali, faremos negócios e ganharemos dinheiro. Vocês não sabem o que lhes acontecerá amanhã! Que é a sua vida? Vocês são como a neblina que aparece por um pouco de tempo e depois se dissipa. Ao invés disso, deveriam dizer: Se o Senhor quiser, viveremos e faremos isto ou aquilo.” Esse é um conselho inspirado e sábio.
Já ouviu alguém perguntar: “Você vai lá em casa amanhã?” E o interlocutor responder: “Se Deus quiser.”? Ou então, alguém expressando uma expectativa, um sonho, uma ansiedade, diz mais ou menos assim: “Se Deus quiser, pretendo fazer aquilo...” Essas expressões vêm de contextos bíblicos, como o da instrução de Tiago e o do comportamento dos israelitas.
É como Augusto Cury escreveu: “Quando o homem explorar intensamente o pequeno átomo e o imenso espaço, e disser que domina o mundo, quando conquistar as mais complexas tecnologias e disser que sabe tudo..., terá tempo para se voltar para dentro de si mesmo. Nesse momento descobrirá que aconteceu um grande erro. Qual?... Descobrirá que se tornou um gigante da ciência, mas que é um frágil menino que não sabe navegar nas águas da emoção e que desconhece os segredos que tecem a colcha de retalhos da sua inteligência. Quando isso ocorrer, algo novo acontecerá. Ele encontrará pela segunda vez a sua maior invenção: a roda. A roda? Sim, só que dessa vez será a roda da emoção. Encontrando-a, ele percorrerá territórios pouco explorados e, por fim, encontrará o que sempre procurou: o amor, o amor pela vida e pelo Autor da vida.”
