|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

Obadias e Jonas
Dos dois livros bíblicos que precisamos ler hoje, vou destacar o menos conhecido: Obadias. Este livro, que, hoje em dia, raramente é ensinado é uma advertência profética contra um inimigo do Israel Antigo. Veja você mesmo em sua leitura.
O que isto tem a ver conosco? De acordo com o teólogo Lawrence Richards, A grande contribuição desse livro ao cristão moderno está em Obadias mostrar o destaque de que Deus exerce juízo com base em conceitos morais, agindo de acordo com esses conceitos. Ponto final.
Então, quando você ler o livro de Obadias, vai ser bom, para que seja relembrado com respeito à fidelidade de Deus para com as promessas da aliança, que já tinham sido feitas a Abraão. Perceba que Obadias é uma ilustração bem viva, do lance de que Deus dar uma benção especial, para todos os que abençoassem o povo hebreu. Mas, por um outro lado, também tem aí o fato de que Deus deixou claro, que quem amaldiçoasse o Seu povo, não sairia ileso.
Mas o profeta Obadias estende a mensagem para cada povo que viesse, também, no futuro, a desprezar tanto o Senhor, quanto a descendência do Seu povo. Se a gente hoje prega que breve Jesus voltará, analise com atenção, sobre como já era a pregação aí na mensagem de Obadias, que revela que o dia do Senhor está próximo para todas as nações.
Ou seja, um dia, e será breve, as antigas promessas, meu amigo, serão completamente cumpridas. Então, quando a casa de Jacó, de Israel, o povo de Deus, o povo cristão, tomar posse da herança que lhes está reservada, como diz o último verso do livro, “os vencedores subirão ao monte Sião para governar a montanha de Esaú. E o reino será do Senhor”, todas estas promessas se cumprirão. Ou seja, os que tiverem perseverado em Deus dominarão tudo, em nome do Senhor, por Ele, e com Ele. Porque, afinal de contas eles são dEle, de Deus, e todo o domínio também é dEle.
E então, você vai querer ficar do lado de fora dessa? Acho que não, não é mesmo? Então o que você deve fazer mesmo? A nossa proposta é que você fique por dentro da Bíblia. Portanto, aqui vai uma dica. Como o livro de Obadias é pequeno, além de lê-lo, aproveite para fazer uma paráfrase do mesmo, aplicando suas lições para nossa atual realidade. Depois compartilhe seu trabalho com outros. Tenho certeza de que, assim como Deus usou Obadias, naquela época, com esta mensagem, poderá usá-lo também, com uma pregação atualmente contextualizada. E, a Ele, seja toda a honra e glória. Amém?
