|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

|Jeremias 40:8|
Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

Você tem lido a Bíblia direitinho? Está fazendo sua leitura bíblica diariamente, dentro do programa de lermos a Bíblia inteira em um ano? Se sim, então hoje, ou você já leu, ou ainda vai ler, 2Samuel 20-21. Se não, você não sabe o que está perdendo. Você já viu uma pessoa com seis dedos na mão esquerda? Diferente, né? E ainda mais... Seis dedos na mão direita, seis dedos no pé esquerdo e seis dedos no pé direito? Incrível! Mas você pode ver um homem assim na leitura de hoje.
Outro detalhe: você acha que, para Davi, Saul era amigo ou inimigo? Sabe o que Davi fez com os ossos de Saul depois que tornou-se rei? Se não sabe, também não vou contar. Vou deixar você descobrir lendo 2Samuel 20. Há muitas curiosidades legais na leitura bíblica, mas você precisa cavar fundo para achar. Leia tudo, caso contrário, perderá alguma coisa. Só consegue fazer grandes descobertas quem paga o preço de ler tudo direitinho, até aquelas coisas que parecem ser chatas, pois no meio delas estão as curiosidades bíblicas interessantes.
O Livro Sagrado gosta de contar detalhes curiosos. Nos capítulos da leitura de hoje, a Bíblia faz questão de contar qual era o peso da ponta da lança de um guerreiro filisteu: “A ponta da lança de Isbi-Benobe pesava três quilos e seiscentos gramas.” Já imaginou alguém lutar com uma lança que só a sua ponta tivesse o peso de uma bola de boliche?
Outro detalhe: dizem que as mulheres falam demais, né? Se falam demais ou não, não sei. Tudo o que sei é que muitas vezes as falas das mulheres são uma bênção! No relato de hoje tem a fala de uma mulher que salvou uma cidade inteira. É só falar com sabedoria, concorda comigo?
E falando em mulher, você sabe quem foram as dez mulheres que foram condenadas a viver o resto da vida como viúvas? Essa é outra curiosidade bíblica que eu não vou lhe responder. E você já sabe o porquê, né? É porque está na leitura de hoje.
Estou só lhe falando essas coisas, dando uma pitadinhas para deixar você com água na boca ao perceber que tem muita coisa interessante a se aprender lendo a Bíblia. É por isso que não tenho medo em escrever todos os dias esses comentários para incentivar você a estudar a Palavra de Deus. Estou certo de você só terá a crescer intelectualmente, em conhecimento, informações, mas...

Muito mais que isso... Você crescerá em bênçãos, porque a vida de quem lê a Bíblia é uma vida diferente, abençoada. Busque esse diferencial para sua vida!
