|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

|Jeremias 40:8|
Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

VOCÊ ENTENDE?

“A maioria das pessoas gasta mais tempo e energia falando dos problemas que enfrentando os problemas.” Essa frase foi dita por Henry Ford, o homem que fundou a indústria de automóveis Ford. Ele era um industriário, mas, nesse pensamento, não só filosofou legal, como fez uma bela uma análise daquilo que acontece no comportamento humano diante do sofrimento, adversidades e obstáculos que a vida nos impõe. Você não acha?
É exatamente isso que encontramos na leitura bíblica de hoje: um longo discurso de quem está enfrentando a dor. Diante disso, você pode questionar: “Então, pastor, para que ficar gastando tempo lendo um texto que só tem lamúrias?” Permita-me lhe dizer uma coisa, aliás, três:
1. Você já passou por um grande sofrimento na vida? Um sofrimento bastante intenso, muito prolongado? Se sim, irá concordar que quando passamos por um sofrimento bem grande, temos vontade de nos encontrar com alguém que consiga nos entender, perceber a dor que sentimos, que saiba falar nossa mesma linguagem. Então, quando nos encontramos com uma pessoa que também já passou por uma consternação do tamanho da aflição que estamos enfrentando ou, às vezes, até maior, parece que é tão bom! Pois, ao ouvirmos a outra pessoa relatar o que já passou, temos a impressão de que não estamos sozinhos neste mundo, no aspecto de sentir aquela dor. É gostosa a sensação de que tem alguém do nosso lado, que também já passou por isso.
2. Se você nunca passou por um grande sofrimento na vida, sem querer jogar praga para você, provavelmente ainda vá sofrer algum dia. Por via de regra, todo mundo, nesta vida, mais cedo ou mais tarde, sofre. E aí, no dia em que você estiver sofrendo, lembre-se disso que escrevi logo acima. Você vai querer encontrar alguém que lhe entenda. E se sentirá bem se conseguir conversar com alguém, se conseguir ouvir alguém que também sofre ou que também já sofreu.
3. Quero dirigir-me agora para você que, talvez, esteja sofrendo neste momento. Você quer se encontrar com alguém que tem na cabeça algo parecido que você? Que sente no peito e na pele um pouco de dor como você? Abra sua Bíblia no livro de Jó e leia-o. São palavras de quem entende a dor. Todo mundo que está passando por algum tipo de sofrimento deveria ler esse livro. Faz bem se encontrar com alguém que nos entende.
Um detalhe importante, que peço para que você lembre sempre: o sofrimento é a maior prova de que estamos aqui neste mundo apenas de passagem. Nosso destino é o Céu. E lá, as alegrias serão infinitamente maiores! Pense nisso.
