|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

|Jeremias 40:8|
Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

Jeremias 33-35
Depois de termos passado o susto que 2009 nos trouxe, da gripe suína, nunca mais uma tosse foi a mesma coisa. Basta um espirro de alguém desconhecido, em um lugar público, e já ficamos de orelha em pé. A leitura bíblica de hoje não tosse nem espirra doença, mas sussurra saúde. Jeremias 33:6 diz: “Todavia, trarei restauração e cura para ela; curarei o meu povo e lhe darei muita prosperidade e segurança”. Até mesmo uma gripe comum, de resfriado, merece a nossa atenção, não é mesmo?
Atchim! Sua cabeça dói, seu nariz está entupido, sua garganta queima, você está todo dolorido... – é um resfriado antiquado. Ou talvez você tenha um resfriado moderno. Os pesquisadores estão quase desistindo de procurar a cura dessa incômoda enfermidade, porque toda vez que eles estão perto de descobrir a cura, o vírus muda para uma nova forma, de modo que há virtualmente centenas de diferentes tipos de vírus do resfriado. Mas agora mesmo você se acha totalmente aflito, desconsolado, angustiado, e não se preocupa se o resfriado é antiquado ou moderno. Você está assim? Fisicamente, ou com a gélida alma enrugada, emocionalmente?
Em seu primeiro espirro, talvez a pessoa que ama você, que está ao seu lado, pressione o lado interno do seu pulso contra sua testa, verifique a temperatura, e balance tristemente a cabeça, levando você para a cama. Isso acontece? Sim, quando nossa respiração espiritual vai mal, Deus faz de tudo para nos dar o alívio, o descanso. Você recebe um analgésico para aliviar os seus sintomas... precisa de muitos líquidos. Como é bom ter uma mãe, nestas horas. Se ela não pode resolver o problema da gente, com certeza nos leva ao médico, que então prescreve uma receita mais confiável. Mas o pior é que nem todas as enfermidades são como a gripe ou uma infecção no ouvido ou uma dor de garganta. Às vezes são problemas como preocupação, solidão e desapontamento. Para este problemas você precisa de mais do que somente alguns comprimidos de paracetamol e um termômetro. E embora uma mãe (ou outra companhia amável) possa confortar-lhe em tais situações, você precisa de ajuda externa. Não me refiro ou médico da rede de saúde. Falo de Deus, o Médico celestial. Ele está sempre pronto a ajudar, não importa qual seja o problema, e pode fornecer-lhe o devido remédio. É só pedir pra Ele!
Portanto, da próxima vez que seu espírito fizer “Atchim!” de uma enfermidade que nem termômetros nem paracetamol, nem um companheiro puder curar, lembre-se de recorrer-se a Deus, que provê remédio para suas maiores necessidades.
