|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

JOÃO NOS APRESENTA A SALVAÇÃO

Quero destacar alguns versículos de 1João e adicionar-lhes algo mais, sobre a salvação, para ajudar a você, leitor, em seu estudo da Bíblia.
“Se confessarmos os nossos pecados, ele é fiel e justo para perdoar os nossos pecados e nos purificar de toda injustiça (1:9)”. O segundo passo para a salvação é a confissão dos pecados (o primeiro é o arrependimento). Aqui está a descrição teórica de como acontece a salvação anunciada em Efésios 2:8. Mas um relato de como isso acontece na prática pode ser lido em 2Samuel 2:13 e todo o contexto da história do pecado e arrependimento de Davi, em comparação com o Salmo 51. A salvação está ao nosso alcance. Amém!
“Meus filhinhos, escrevo-lhes estas coisas para que vocês não pequem. Se, porém, alguém pecar, temos um intercessor junto ao Pai, Jesus Cristo, o Justo (1João 2:1)”. Para esta palavra “intercessor”, no texto em original grego está a palavra “parakleto”, que quer dizer “ajudador, confortador, consolador, conselheiro, intercessor, mediador ou advogado”. No Novo Testamento, os únicos parakletos são o Espírito Santo, prometido em João 14:16, e Cristo (aqui em João 2:1), junto ao Pai. A igualdade dos dois é atestada pela expressão “allos parakletos” de João 14:16, que quer dizer “um outro igual”. Nesta simples comparação destas duas passagens, vemos toda a Trindade empenhada em salvar-nos. Amém!
“Aquele que diz: ‘Eu o conheço’, mas não obedece aos seus mandamentos, é mentiroso, e a verdade não está nele. Mas, se alguém obedece à sua palavra, nele verdadeiramente o amor a Deus está aperfeiçoado. Desta forma sabemos que estamos nele: aquele que afirma que permanece nele, deve andar como ele andou (1João 2:1)”. A santificação traz como fruto natural a guarda dos mandamentos, num ato de relacionamento (João 14:15). A salvação depende da nossa entrega. Amém!
“Mas quem odeia seu irmão está nas trevas e anda nas trevas; não sabe para onde vai, porque as trevas o cegaram 1João 2:11)”. Uma vez salvo, não está para sempre salvo. Note que, para João chamar alguém de “filho”, é porque tratava-se de alguém que já era salvo (compare com 2:12; 3:10; 1Coríntios 10:11-12; Hebreus 3:13-14 e 10:26-27). Precisamos que Deus nos mantenha, para sempre, salvos. Amém!
“Sabemos também que o Filho de Deus veio e nos deu entendimento, para que conheçamos aquele que é o Verdadeiro. E nós estamos naquele que é o Verdadeiro, em seu Filho Jesus Cristo. Este é o verdadeiro Deus e a vida eterna (1João 5:20)”. É possível conhecer a Deus através da pessoa de Jesus. Ele é a revelação da divindade. A fonte da nossa salvação. Conhecendo-O, somos salvos. Amém!
