|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

|Jeremias 40:5|
Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

|Jeremias 40:8|
Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

Você já conviveu ou convive com pessoas que são viciadas em reclamar? Se alguém troca os computadores, reclamam por não saber manusear os novos programas. Se pintam as paredes, reclamam porque o ambiente ficou diferente. Se faz sol, reclamam que está muito quente. Se chove, reclamam que vão se molhar... Conseguem estragar a melhor das intenções.
No relato de hoje, vemos o povo de Israel reclamando de tudo. A reclamação foi tanta que Deus tomou uma atitude drástica: enviou serpentes venenosas para morder o povo. Muitos morreram. Talvez, ao lermos essa história, torcemos o nariz e criticamos o povo de Israel, mas quantas vezes Deus tem algo grandioso para nos dar e nos focamos em coisas menores. O que deveríamos fazer é mudar paradigmas, ou seja, mudar a visão de enxergar as coisas.
Stephen R. Covey, em seu livro “Os 7 Hábitos das Pessoas Altamente Eficazes”, diz que recorda “de uma mudança de paradigma que aconteceu em uma manhã de domingo no metrô de Nova Iorque. As pessoas estavam calmamente sentadas, lendo jornais, divagando... Subitamente um homem entrou no vagão do metrô com os filhos. As crianças faziam algazarra e se comportavam mal, de modo que o clima mudou instantaneamente.
O homem sentou-se a meu lado e fechou os olhos, aparentemente ignorando a situação. As crianças corriam de um lado para o outro, atiravam coisas, incomodando a todos. Mesmo assim, o homem a meu lado não fazia nada. Ficou impossível evitar a irritação. Eu não conseguia acreditar que ele pudesse ser tão insensível. Dava para perceber que as demais pessoas estavam irritadas também. A certa altura, enquanto ainda conseguia manter a calma e o controle, virei para ele e disse:
- Senhor, seus filhos estão perturbando muitas pessoas. Será que não poderia dar um jeito neles?
O homem olhou para mim, como se estivesse tomando consciência da situação naquele exato momento, e disse calmamente:
- Sim, creio que o senhor tem razão. Acho que deveria fazer alguma coisa. Acabamos de sair do hospital, onde a mãe deles morreu há uma hora. Eu não sei o que pensar, e parece que eles também não sabem como lidar com isso.”
Segundo o autor, naquele momento, seu paradigma mudou. De repente, ele começou a enxergar as coisas de outro modo.
Muita gente, quando passa por uma crise séria, uma mudança, assim como o povo de Israel, não entende que a situação traz crescimento. Deus queria dar muito mais ao povo, mas ainda não estavam preparados. No seu dia-a-dia, procure encarar a vida segundo a visão de Deus. Para isso, esteja em sintonia com Ele, buscando cumprir Seus desígnios.
