|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

|Jeremias 40:8|
Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

DEDICAÇÃO VITAL
1Samuel 01-03
Hoje estamos começando a leitura de um livro que é muito gostoso de ler. Trata-se de Samuel. Digo apenas Samuel e não 1Samuel porque você pode juntar os dois livros e considerá-los como um só.
Quero fazer um apelo a você: se faz tempo que não lê sua Bíblia e tem negligenciado esse hábito, pode se recolocar nas mãos de Deus. Antes que Samuel “virasse gente”, sua mãe o dedicou ao Senhor, e ele foi uma bênção. Podemos observar através desse longo livro da Bíblia, que leva seu nome.
Que tal também dedicar sua vida a Deus? Peça o poder do Espírito Santo, para que você seja uma bênção. Que tal ser específico no pedido, rogando a Deus que lhe ajude a conseguir ler a Bíblia diariamente? Deus está interessado em lhe atender.
Quanto à dedicação que a mãe de Samuel fez, veja o que encontrei no livro “Mensagens Escolhidas” (Vol. 1, pág. 319): “Ana dedicou Samuel ao Senhor, e Deus revelou-Se-lhe na infância e juventude. Devemos trabalhar muito mais por nossas crianças e pelos jovens, pois Deus os aceitará para fazerem grandes coisas em Seu nome, no sentido de ensinarem a verdade aos de terras estrangeiras, aos que se acham nas trevas do erro e da superstição. Se fordes condescendentes com vossos filhos satisfazendo os seus desejos egoístas; se neles animardes o amor do vestuário, e desenvolverdes a vaidade e o orgulho, fareis uma obra que decepcionará a Jesus, que por sua redenção pagou preço infinito. Deseja Ele que os filhos O sirvam com afeição indivisa.”
Você percebe a importância da grande responsabilidade de educar uma criança? Se a dedicarmos a Deus, ensinando-a nos caminhos dEle, ela se torna uma bênção. O contrário, infelizmente, pode ser verdade. Se deixamos de educar a criança na presença de Deus, não temos noção do que pode acontecer de ruim.
Todos nós - homens, mulheres e crianças - precisamos, mais que nunca, nos colocar na presença de Deus, sermos pessoas dedicadas e Ele e dedicarmos nossos queridos também. Melhor dizendo, devemos ser um povo separado, diferente, selecionado para Ele.
O que acha disso? Quer ser dedicado a Deus? Se sim, posso orar você, agora? Então, leia em espírito de oração:
Querido Deus, de forma muito humilde, reconhecendo que nem mereço o que vou lhe pedir, mas confiado no Teu poder, suplico que o Senhor aceite a vida desta pessoa que está lendo esta oração. “Juntos”, em oração, meu Deus, nós queremos dedicar nossa vida a Ti. Fazemos essa entrega, em nome de Jesus. Amém!
Pronto! Sua vida está nas mãos de Deus. Portanto, viva este dia feliz e em paz!
