|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

SALMOS 90-99
Em nosso programa anual de leitura da Bíblia, começamos hoje a leitura do quarto livro dos Salmos. Você sabia que o livro dos salmos, na realidade, é uma coletânea de muitos textos separados, que antigamente eram colecionados em cinco volumes? Após algum tempo, juntaram tudo em um livro só. Mas ainda temos as subdivisões e, exatamente no Salmo 90, se inicia a quarta subdivisão.
Esse salmo é uma oração de Moisés, homem de Deus, quando está comentando sobre o quanto Deus é grande, mas, ao mesmo tempo, o quanto Ele pode estar perto de nós, dependendo da confiança que colocamos nEle. E Moisés é inquiridor dessa presença, dessa companhia, dessas bênçãos do Senhor.
A seguir, no Salmo 91, encontramos a clássica oração que muitos cristãos e muitos judeus sabem de cor. Ela é uma verdadeira declaração de confiança em Deus, em um ato de fé, de reconhecer que a vida está realmente nas mãos do Pai Celestial.
Já o Salmo 92 é um cântico que foi feito para ser cantado no dia de sábado. Então, se você é um guardador do dia do Senhor Jesus, que é o sábado, pois até do sábado Jesus é Senhor, conseguirá entender muito melhor as palavras contidas nele. Elas têm, realmente, todo o sentido da guarda do sábado. Se você ainda não entendeu o sentido da guarda do sábado, leia esse salmo.
O Salmo 93 é aquele tipo de salmo que eu lhe diria: Decore esse salmo, meu amigo! Tenha-o memorizado, na ponta da língua! Ele é um salmo curtinho, mas muito lindo e poderoso: “O Senhor reina! Vestiu-se de majestade; de majestade vestiu-se o Senhor e armou-se de poder...”
O salmo seguinte é aquele que os teólogos chamam de “salmo imprecatório”. Nele, o autor desabafa, questiona a justiça de Deus, deseja que o ímpio receba seu merecido castigo e coloca toda sua confiança no justo Juiz. Todo ser humano, uma ou outra vez, passa por sentimentos assim. Portanto, vamos procurar compreender o salmista, porque ele também era um ser humano.
Do Salmo 95 até o 99, se você é alguém que gosta de louvar a Deus e que sempre procura aprender canções de louvor, e se já faz um bom tempo que tem esse hábito, então, com certeza, já pronunciou as frases e palavras desses cinco salmos. Eles já serviram de inspiração para as letras de muitos compositores talentosos. São salmos lindos de louvores diretos a Deus, de pura adoração.
Resumindo, digo-lhe que você terá prejuízo se perder a oportunidade de fazer a leitura de hoje, dos belos salmos que estão à nossa disposição. Delicie-se, lendo-os e decorando-os!
