|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

|Jeremias 40:5|
Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

|Jeremias 40:6|
So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

|Jeremias 40:8|
Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

SEJA UM POTE DE JESUS
2CorÃntios 01-04
Certo carregador de água tinha 2 grandes potes, cada um pendurado numa ponta de um cabo, o qual ele carregava sobre seus ombros. Um dos potes tinha uma rachadura, enquanto o outro pote era perfeito e sempre levava a porção completa de água até o final da longa caminhada.
O pote rachado chegava só com a metade.
Por 2 anos isto se repetiu diariamente, com o carregador trazendo apenas um pote e meio de água.
Naturalmente, o pote perfeito estava orgulhoso de seu desempenho, perfeito para o propósito a que tinha sido feito.
Mas o pobre pote rachado estava envergonhado de sua própria imperfeição, e miserável por ser capaz de alcançar apenas metade daquilo a que tinha sido feito para fazer.
Depois de 2 anos do que sentia ser uma falha insuportável, ele um dia falou ao carregador perto de um riacho:
-Estou envergonhado de mim mesmo, disse o pote, e eu quero me desculpar com você.
- Por quê? - perguntou o carregador.
- Do que você está envergonhado?
- Tenho conseguido, nestes últimos 2 anos, entregar apenas metade de meu carregamento porque esta rachadura faz com que a água vaze por todo o caminho.
Por minha causa, você tem que realizar todo este trabalho, e você não recebe todo o valor de seus esforços, disse o pote.
O carregador sentiu pena do velho pote rachado, e em sua compaixão ele disse:
- Enquanto nós voltarmos à casa, eu quero que você note as flores lindas que há ao longo da trilha.
De fato, Ã medida que eles subiram a colina, o velho pote rachado notou o sol que aquecia as lindas flores silvestres ao lado da trilha, e isto o animou um pouco.
Mas ao final da trilha, ele ainda se sentia mal porque tinha vazado metade de seu carregamento, e novamente se desculpou com o carregador por sua falha.
O carregador disse ao pote:
- Você notou que havia flores apenas em seu lado da trilha, mas nenhuma do lado do outro pote?
É porque eu sempre soube da sua rachadura,e eu aproveitei isso para o bem.
- Eu plantei sementes de flores do seu lado da trilha, e a cada dia enquanto eu voltava do riacho, você as regou. Por 2 anos eu tenho sido capaz de colher estas lindas flores para decorar a minha mesa.
Sem você ser do jeito que você é, e com a rachadura que você tem eu nunca teria esta beleza para embelezar a minha casa.
Mesmo sentindo-se imperfeito, descubra, na leitura de hoje, que tipo de pote, vaso, você pode ser para Jesus.
