|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

PRIORIDADE É IMPORTANTE?
Daniel 04-06
O que é prioridade?
Daniel já estava com quase 90 anos. Dario, o rei de Babilônia, que na realidade era um “medo”, promoveu o profeta à mais alta posição que poderia ser ocupada por um cidadão daquele império. Mas é interessante que Daniel não deixou que o “status” do seu cargo lhe subisse para a cabeça, fazendo com que ele alterasse a regularidade dos hábitos de sua vida devocional. Com isso, Deus o fez prosperar na sua importante função pública.
Mas, devido ao seu êxito, os colegas de trabalho invejosos de Daniel fizeram uma conspiração contra ele. Eles induziram a Dario a assinar um decreto de que qualquer pessoa que, naqueles próximos trinta dias, orasse a outro Deus, que não fosse o rei da Babilônia, deveria ser lançada na cova dos leões. Essa era uma lei que, além de pôr a vida de Daniel em risco, ainda colocava o relacionamento de Daniel, também, em perigo. E agora? O que ele iria fazer? Se fosse você, o que faria?
Sabe o que Daniel fez? Colocou os seus períodos de oração na frente de tudo e de todos. Prioridade é prioridade; princípio é princípio; e isso não se negocia. Daniel “foi para casa, para o seu quarto, no andar de cima, onde as janelas davam para Jerusalém e ali fez o que costumava fazer: três vezes por dia ele se ajoelhava e orava, agradecendo ao seu Deus”. Tem gente, hoje em dia, que ao deparar-se com a prova que foi colocada para Daniel, vai dizer que agir como Daniel seria fanatismo. Isso é um raciocínio lógico: “certamente, Deus compreenderia se fosse preciso omitir os períodos pessoais de oração durante um mês, com a ‘nobre’ finalidade da preservação da vida”, pensariam. Outros tentariam dar um jeitinho, orando secretamente, levando uma vida dúbia. Mas Daniel não; quando ele considerou essas alternativas, ele percebeu que, naquelas circunstâncias, se ele fizesse isso, estaria dando uma impressão errada sobre o que era prioridade para ele e levaria outros a pensarem que ele consentia com a idéia de que a oração era prejudicial. Isso seria um falso testemunho, através do qual estaria negando o seu Deus.
Você tem o privilégio de poder elevar os seus pensamentos a Deus a qualquer momento durante o dia, em oração. Aproveite esse privilégio. Mas tenha também, diariamente, o hábito de ter um lugar especial e uma hora marcada para, sozinho, se encontrar com o seu Deus, através da oração.
Os muçulmanos são pontuais: param pra fazer uma oração para Alá, diariamente, cinco vezes. E você, cristão, tem sido fiel em adorar a Deus? Experimente isso na sua vida!
