|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

|Jeremias 40:4|
Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

Provérbios 20-24
Você tem acompanhado o nosso programa de ler a Bíblia inteira em um ano? Conhece esse plano, não conhece? Lemos um pouquinho a cada dia. Isso não pesa para ninguém. E aí, chegando no finalzinho de dezembro, também chegaremos no final de Apocalipse. A maior vantagem é ter a companhia de Deus, todos os dias, através da Sua palavra na nossa vida.
Você já fez sua leitura bíblica hoje? Se sim, sabe da preciosidade do que estou falando, principalmente nesses dias que nós estamos lendo o livro de provérbios. Se ainda não leu a Bíblia, não termine seu dia sem ter um encontro especial com Deus através da Sua Palavra. Ao estudar Provérbios, você se sentirá como alguém que achou um grande tesouro!
Esse livro é uma obra escrita por Salomão, filho de Davi. É um livro de sabedoria prática, pois ensina que a religião está diretamente ligada aos problemas comuns da vida. Afinal de contas, religião teórica, que fica só no campo das ideias, do discurso, do blá-blá-blá, não adianta nada. Provérbios começa lembrando, como diz a Nova Tradução na Linguagem de Hoje, que “para ser sábio, é preciso primeiro temer ao Deus Eterno”. Mas, saindo da teoria, Provérbios também trata de assuntos de moral, bom senso e boas maneiras; coisas práticas da vida, necessárias para qualquer um de nós.
Mas tem mais... Os provérbios revelam a sabedoria dos antigos mestres sobre o que a pessoa sábia deve fazer em certas situações comuns da vida, bem como em situações complicadas. Por exemplo, há provérbios que falam sobre as relações de família; outros são sobre o comportamento nos negócios. Alguns tratam de boa educação nas relações sociais; outros falam acerca da necessidade da pessoa saber se controlar. Tudo isso vai se somando numa cartilha de vida bem interessante.
Resumindo, os provérbios, entre outras coisas, ensinam a humildade, a paciência, o respeito pelos pobres, a lealdade para com os amigos e o temor do Pai Celestial. Quem não é sábio, com certeza, não vai querer ler o livro de Provérbios. E o que quiser se tornar sábio, com certeza não deixará de lê-lo. Ou seja, Provérbios é um ponto de encontro dos sábios: uns mais sábios e outros menos iniciados na sabedoria. Mas o ponto é que se você se interessa em fazer a leitura bíblica destes dias, só de demonstrar esse interesse já faz parte do clube dos sábios. Quer sair desse clube? Não se importe em fazer a leitura bíblica desse nosso projeto. Mas sei que você é alguém que busca pela sabedoria. Então, parabéns por ser sábio. Parabéns por ler esse livro maravilhoso de Provérbios!
