|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him; for he had been put in chains, among all the prisoners of Jerusalem and Judah who were taken away prisoners to Babylon.

|Jeremias 40:2|
And the captain of the armed men took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God gave word of the evil which was to come on this place:

|Jeremias 40:3|
*** and the Lord has made it come, and has done as he said; because of your sin against the Lord in not giving ear to his voice; and that is why this thing has come on you.

Now see, this day I am freeing you from the chains which are on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will keep an eye on you; but if it does not seem good to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not come: see, all the land is before you; if it seems good and right to you to go on living in the land,

Then go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made ruler over the towns of Judah, and make your living-place with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the armed men gave him food and some money and let him go.

So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah, and was living with him among the people who were still in the land.

Now when it came to the ears of all the captains of the forces who were in the field, and their men, that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, ruler in the land, and had put under his care the men and women and children, all the poorest of the land, those who had not been taken away to Babylon;

|Jeremias 40:8|
Then they came to Gedaliah in Mizpah, even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear of the servants of the Chaldaeans: go on living in the land, and become the servants of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.

As for me, I will be living in Mizpah as your representative before the Chaldaeans who come to us: but you are to get in your wine and summer fruits and oil and put them in your vessels, and make living-places for yourselves in the towns which you have taken.

SALMOS 40-45
Deus é muito misericordioso. Jacó teve um filho chamado Levi. Toda a sua geração - netos, bisnetos, tataranetos... - eram chamados de levitas ou o povo da tribo de Levi. Todo esse povo era separado para trabalhar nos serviços sagrados de Deus. Era tanto um mandato do Senhor, como uma tradição muito forte entre eles. Nessa família, havia um homem chamado Corá. Ele viveu várias gerações depois. Também era levita, separado para o serviço santo. Hoje, é como se fosse um bispo, pastor, padre, etc. E o que esperamos desse tipo de pessoas? Boa conduta, caráter, exemplo espiritual, não é verdade?
Corá, durante aquela caminhada que os israelitas fizeram pelo deserto, participou e liderou uma rebelião contra os profetas, os representantes de Deus, Moisés e Arão. Isso aconteceu por pura inveja. Ele estava incomodado porque seu cargo era inferior ao cargo do seu parente Arão, que tinha sido designado como o sacerdote maior. Então, movido por essa inveja besta, recebeu o apoio de outros três revoltados, Datã, Abirão e On, que também queriam ter cargos importantes. No caso deles, foi só porque perceberam que eram rubenitas, da tribo do primogênito de Jacó, Rúben. Juntos, fizeram uma confusão entre o povo de Deus, e Corá foi castigado. Ele morreu em um terremoto.
O tempo passou, e anos depois (1Crônicas 6) Davi estava organizando quem iria fazer isso ou aquilo nos trabalhos do ministério de Deus. E chegou a hora de encontrar alguém para cuidar de um dos ministérios mais importantes na adoração: o ministério da música. O rei estava olhando, procurando... Quem poderia executar um ministério tão santo, tão sério? Deus deu uma dica para Davi. O Senhor sugeriu os coraítas! Imagine, os descendentes daquele camarada que tinha sido morto como símbolo da apostasia de rebelião!
Como Deus é misericordioso e justo! Ele julga individualmente. Não é porque o pai é um criminoso que Deus vai discriminar o filho. Cada um é cada um. Aliás, dos descendentes de Corá, tem outros grandes homens de Deus, como o profeta Samuel. Era um coreíta. Hemã, um cantor muito famoso no povo de Israel também era da família de Corá. Davi organizou os coraítas descendentes de Hemã como as pessoas responsáveis pela música do templo. Eles formavam um grande e bonito coral. E dentre as várias produções musicais dos coraítas, encontramos onze salmos que, inclusive, alguns deles estão na nossa leitura de hoje. A indicação deles está nos títulos ou no começo do Salmo.
Sabe o que isso indica? Não importa o quanto nos sintamos indignos ou pecadores. Cantemos esses salmos como louvor ao Senhor e sejamos “coraítas” restaurados por Jesus Cristo!
