|Jeremias 44:21|
The perfumes which you have been burning in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers and your kings and your rulers and the people of the land, had the Lord no memory of them, and did he not keep them in mind?

|Jeremias 44:22|
And the Lord was no longer able to put up with the evil of your doings and the disgusting things you did; and because of this your land has become a waste and a cause of wonder and a curse, with no one living in it, as at this day.

|Jeremias 44:23|
Because you have been burning perfumes, and sinning against the Lord, and have not given ear to the voice of the Lord, or gone in the way of his law or his rules or his orders; for this reason this evil has come on you, as it is today.

Further, Jeremiah said to all the people and all the women, Give ear to the word of the Lord, all those of Judah who are living in Egypt:

This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said: You women have said with your mouths, and with your hands you have done what you said, We will certainly give effect to the oaths we have made, to have perfumes burned to the queen of heaven and drink offerings drained out to her: then give effect to your oaths and do them.

And now give ear to the word of the Lord, all you of Judah who are living in the land of Egypt: Truly, I have taken an oath by my great name, says the Lord, that my name is no longer to be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, By the life of the Lord God.

See, I am watching over them for evil and not for good: all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt will be wasted by the sword and by need of food till there is an end of them.

And those who get away safe from the sword will come back from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah, a very small number; and all the rest of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt and are living there, will see whose word has effect, mine or theirs.

And this will be the sign to you, says the Lord, that I will give you punishment in this place, so that you may see that my words will certainly have effect against you for evil:

The Lord has said, See, I will give up Pharaoh Hophra, king of Egypt, into the hands of those who are fighting against him and desiring to take his life, as I gave Zedekiah, king of Judah, into the hands of Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, his hater, who had designs against his life.

Ezequiel 24-26
Prezado leitor,
De toda a leitura de hoje, quero que você mesmo reflita e responda a duas perguntas apresentadas abaixo.
A primeira destas perguntas é: “Com a parábola da panela fervente, que lição o Senhor quis ensinar a Judá, e principalmente a Jerusalém?” Leia Ezequiel 24:3-14, para elaborar a sua própria resposta. Escreva sua resposta numa folha de papel. Depois, compare-a com o comentário bíblico abaixo, no sentido de somar os conceitos.
“Enquanto Jeremias continuava a dar o seu testemunho na terra de Judá, o profeta Ezequiel foi suscitado entre os cativos em Babilônia, para advertir e confortar os exilados, e também para confirmar a Palavra do Senhor que fora exposta pelo profeta Jeremias. Durante os anos que restaram do reinado de Zedequias, Ezequiel tornou muito clara a loucura de confiar nas falsas predições dos que estavam levando os cativos a esperar para breve o retorno a Jerusalém. Ele foi também instruído a predizer, por meio de uma variedade de símbolos e solenes mensagens, o cerco e posterior destruição de Jerusalém” (Profetas e Reis, 448).
O profeta passou por uma prova de fé, através de uma experiência muito triste (Ezequiel 24:15-18). E aqui vem a segunda pergunta: “Na morte da esposa de Ezequiel, que profecia estava contida para aquela rebelde nação? Novamente, depois de Ezequiel 24:19-24, compare suas considerações com o contexto do que acontecia naquela época, descrito no trecho do comentário bíblico, postado abaixo:
“O inimigo varreu como avalanche irresistível, e devastou a cidade. Os exércitos hebreus fugiram em confusão. A nação foi conquistada. Zedequias foi feito prisioneiro. Seus filhos foram mortos diante dos seus olhos. O rei foi levado de Jerusalém como cativo, seus olhos foram vazados, e uma vez chegado à Babilônia, pereceu miseravelmente. O belo templo que por mais de quatro séculos coroara o cimo do Monte de Sião, não foi poupado pelos caldeus. ‘Queimaram a casa do Senhor, e derrubaram os muros de Jerusalém, e todos os seus palácios queimaram a fogo, destruindo também todos os seus preciosos vasos.’ (2 Crônicas 36:19). Ao tempo da invasão final de Jerusalém por Nabucodonosor, muitos haviam escapado dos horrores do longo assédio, apenas para perecer à espada. Entre os que ainda restavam, alguns, notadamente o chefe dos sacerdotes e oficiais e dos príncipes do reino, foram levados para Babilônia e ali executados como traidores”(Idem, 458-460).
A subversão final de todos os domínios terrestres está claramente predita na Palavra da verdade. A história se repete. Deus tem designado um lugar em Seu grande plano para cada nação e cada indivíduo. Homens e nações estão sendo hoje testados pelo prumo na mão dAquele que não erra.
