The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, after Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, hath sent him from Ramah, in his taking him -- and he a prisoner in chains -- in the midst of all the removal of Jerusalem and of Judah, who are removed to Babylon.

And the chief of the executioners taketh Jeremiah, and saith unto him, `Jehovah thy God hath spoken this evil concerning this place,

and Jehovah bringeth [it] in, and doth as He spake, because ye have sinned against Jehovah, and have not hearkened to His voice, even this thing hath been to you.

`And now, lo, I have loosed thee to-day from the chains that [are] on thy hand; if good in thine eyes to come with me [to] Babylon, come, and I keep mine eye upon thee: and if evil in thine eyes to come with me to Babylon, forbear; see, all the land [is] before thee, whither [it be] good, and whither [it be] right in thine eyes to go -- go.` --

and while he doth not reply -- `Or turn back unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath appointed over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him in the midst of the people, or whithersoever it is right in thine eyes to go -- go.` And the chief of the executioners giveth to him for the way, and a gift, and sendeth him away,

and Jeremiah cometh in unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, to Mizpah, and dwelleth with him, in the midst of the people who are left in the land.

And all the heads of the forces that [are] in the field hear, they and their men, that the king of Babylon hath appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam over the land, and that he hath charged him [with] men, and women, and infants, and of the poor of the land, of those who have not been removed to Babylon;

and they come in unto Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan sons of Kareah, and Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah son of the Maachathite, they and their men.

And swear to them doth Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, and to their men, saying, `Be not afraid of serving the Chaldeans, abide in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it is well for you;

and I, lo, I am dwelling in Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who are come in unto us, and ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruit, and oil, and put in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.`

MANTENDO O CHAMADO

Você já ouviu falar de Gideão? Ele foi um grande homem que recebeu um chamado de Deus. Isso aconteceu há séculos, mas o chamado do Senhor continua em nossos dias. E isso é muito sério. O chamado de Deus é o mesmo, mas agora não é mais para Gideão. É para você. Talvez, você possa pensar: “Ah, mas já aceitei o chamado de Deus, porque estou lendo este comentário...”
Lamento, mas preciso dizer que isso é parcialmente verdade. Digo parcialmente porque o chamado não termina por aqui. Às vezes, começamos a aceitar um chamado, e vamos até bem por um bom tempo, mas então caímos no erro de pensar que, por ser uma pessoa chamada, então somos bons demais. Logo, o pior acontece: “caímos do cavalo”! E não querendo que isso aconteça com você, lhe digo: você ter parado para ler este comentário aqui, é uma grande coisa, mas não é tudo.
É como na vida de Gideão. Convido-lhe a analisar sobre a continuidade do atendimento ao chamado na vida dele que, na realidade, foi uma descontinuidade e não uma continuidade.
Alguém poderá dizer: “Como assim? Gideão não foi O CARA?” Pois é. Vamos ver...
Só fazendo um parêntese, pode ser que na sua versão bíblica, em Juízes 6-8, não apareça a palavra Gideão. Se encontrar um camarada chamado Jerubaal, é o mesmo, ok? São uma pessoa só: o juiz de Israel que venceu a guerra e passou a ser chamado de “o poderoso guerreiro”.
Mas como era esse homem? As características dele eram as seguintes:
• Juízes 6:15 - encontramos a humildade;
• Juízes 6:17 - vemos a precaução;
• Juízes 6:24 - muita espiritualidade;
• Juízes 6:27 - mostra sua obediência;
• Juízes 6:34 - inspiração divina.
Penso que tudo isso acontecia porque, na realidade, o que Gideão tinha de melhor era a comunhão dele com Deus, que pode ser vista em Juízes 6:36 e 7:4-9. Isso dava para Gideão as habilidades de ter boas estratégias, como vemos em Juízes 7:16-18, e a ter também muito tato, como começam nos mostrando os três primeiros versos do capítulo 8 de Juízes.
Mas, com todas essas virtudes que capacitam alguém que foi chamado por Deus, infelizmente, Juízes 8:24-31 nos mostra que o grande Gideão foi enfraquecido por causa da prosperidade. Triste, não é mesmo?
Por isso, digo: uma vez que alguém foi chamado, não quer dizer que ele estará, para sempre, enquadrado nos planos de Deus. É preciso cuidar para manter o chamado. E sabe como você pode fazer isso hoje? A primeira parte foi ler o comentário; a continuidade será fazer a leitura do dia.
