The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, after Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, hath sent him from Ramah, in his taking him -- and he a prisoner in chains -- in the midst of all the removal of Jerusalem and of Judah, who are removed to Babylon.

And the chief of the executioners taketh Jeremiah, and saith unto him, `Jehovah thy God hath spoken this evil concerning this place,

and Jehovah bringeth [it] in, and doth as He spake, because ye have sinned against Jehovah, and have not hearkened to His voice, even this thing hath been to you.

`And now, lo, I have loosed thee to-day from the chains that [are] on thy hand; if good in thine eyes to come with me [to] Babylon, come, and I keep mine eye upon thee: and if evil in thine eyes to come with me to Babylon, forbear; see, all the land [is] before thee, whither [it be] good, and whither [it be] right in thine eyes to go -- go.` --

and while he doth not reply -- `Or turn back unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath appointed over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him in the midst of the people, or whithersoever it is right in thine eyes to go -- go.` And the chief of the executioners giveth to him for the way, and a gift, and sendeth him away,

and Jeremiah cometh in unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, to Mizpah, and dwelleth with him, in the midst of the people who are left in the land.

And all the heads of the forces that [are] in the field hear, they and their men, that the king of Babylon hath appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam over the land, and that he hath charged him [with] men, and women, and infants, and of the poor of the land, of those who have not been removed to Babylon;

and they come in unto Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan sons of Kareah, and Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah son of the Maachathite, they and their men.

And swear to them doth Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, and to their men, saying, `Be not afraid of serving the Chaldeans, abide in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it is well for you;

and I, lo, I am dwelling in Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who are come in unto us, and ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruit, and oil, and put in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.`

QUERO INCENTIVAR-LHE A COMER CARNE

Quero convidar-lhe a comer carne. Talvez você possa estar pensando: “mas o pastor deveria estar convidando-me a ser vegetariano...”. Mas já lhe adianto: “não se preocupe com os animaizinhos”. O meu convite não é para comer carne de boi, nem de galinha, nem de peixe. Imagino que agora você esteja fazendo careta: “carne de soja? pvt? salsicha vegetal? não dá para encarar”. Fique tranqüilo, pois também não estou falando de vegetarianismo. O meu convite a você e para comer a Carne de Cristo.
Isto mesmo! Não estou de brincadeira, não, meu amigo! É sério!
Continuando a imaginar o que você esteja pensando, creio que, em sua mente, agora, haja algo relacionado com 1Coríntios 10:16:
“Por isso, meus amados irmãos, fujam da idolatria. Estou falando a pessoas sensatas; julguem vocês mesmos o que estou dizendo. Não é verdade que o cálice da bênção que abençoamos é uma participação no sangue de Cristo, e que o pão que partimos é uma participação no corpo de Cristo? Como há somente um pão, nós, que somos muitos, somos um só corpo, pois todos participamos de um único pão”.
“É isso! A Santa Ceia. Não é mesmo, pastor Valdeci?”.
Acho que não é bem isso. Eu também não estou referindo-me ao pedacinho de pão asmo e ao pequeno cálice de suco de uva que pode tomar numa ordenança eclesiástica, nem à hóstia que alguém pode tomar num sacramento. Não necessariamente. Volto a enfatizar que quero convidar-lhe a comer a carne de Jesus.
Como assim?
A mesa da refeição está na leitura de hoje. Sente-se. Leia João 6:53-56:
“Jesus lhes disse: “Eu lhes digo a verdade: Se vocês não comerem a carne do Filho do homem e não beberem o seu sangue, não terão vida em si mesmos... Pois a minha carne é verdadeira comida e o meu sangue é verdadeira bebida. Todo aquele que come a minha carne e bebe o meu sangue permanece em mim e eu nele”.
Você achou esquisito? Normal. Leia os versos 60-68. Quem ouviu Jesus dizendo isso, realmente, de cara feia, saiu torcendo o nariz. Mas por favor, não deixe esta nostalgia lhe contagiar. Além da Santa Ceia, o significado deste “comer a carne” pode ser explicado em Mateus 4:4:
“Jesus respondeu: “Está escrito: ‘Nem só de pão viverá o homem, mas de toda palavra que procede da boca de Deus”.
A palavra de Deus não causa náuseas, mas sim, nutre as veias da alma, com o próprio sangue de Cristo. Se você ler hoje João 04-06, estará participando de tão íntima comunhão com Ele. Você aceita o convite? Então, continue sentado aí, alimentando-se.
