The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, after Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, hath sent him from Ramah, in his taking him -- and he a prisoner in chains -- in the midst of all the removal of Jerusalem and of Judah, who are removed to Babylon.

And the chief of the executioners taketh Jeremiah, and saith unto him, `Jehovah thy God hath spoken this evil concerning this place,

and Jehovah bringeth [it] in, and doth as He spake, because ye have sinned against Jehovah, and have not hearkened to His voice, even this thing hath been to you.

`And now, lo, I have loosed thee to-day from the chains that [are] on thy hand; if good in thine eyes to come with me [to] Babylon, come, and I keep mine eye upon thee: and if evil in thine eyes to come with me to Babylon, forbear; see, all the land [is] before thee, whither [it be] good, and whither [it be] right in thine eyes to go -- go.` --

and while he doth not reply -- `Or turn back unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath appointed over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him in the midst of the people, or whithersoever it is right in thine eyes to go -- go.` And the chief of the executioners giveth to him for the way, and a gift, and sendeth him away,

and Jeremiah cometh in unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, to Mizpah, and dwelleth with him, in the midst of the people who are left in the land.

And all the heads of the forces that [are] in the field hear, they and their men, that the king of Babylon hath appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam over the land, and that he hath charged him [with] men, and women, and infants, and of the poor of the land, of those who have not been removed to Babylon;

and they come in unto Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan sons of Kareah, and Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah son of the Maachathite, they and their men.

And swear to them doth Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, and to their men, saying, `Be not afraid of serving the Chaldeans, abide in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it is well for you;

and I, lo, I am dwelling in Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who are come in unto us, and ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruit, and oil, and put in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.`

“Diante dele tremerá a terra, abalar-se-ão os céus; o sol e a lua se enegrecerão, e as estrelas retirarão o seu resplendor (Joel 2:10 - RA)”.
O que será abalado?
O que se enegrecerão?
O que acontecerá com as estrelas?
O livro de Joel é um livro cheio de detalhes proféticos, que levantam-nos alguns questionamentos. Nesse caso, a leitura de bons livros de apoio à leitura bíblica é de grande valia. Estou lendo o livro de Leandro Bertoldo, “Profecias Sobre o Tempo do Fim”, da Litteris Editora. O livro de Leandro Bertoldo tem como premissa básica as profecias bíblicas dos fatos que ocorrerão no tempo do fim do mundo.
Ao contextualizar a segunda vinda de Cristo, Bertoldo estuda tanto os sinais da volta de Jesus que antecedem o evento, quanto os sinais iminentes ou simultâneos ao próprio evento. E é aí que entra o livro de Joel. Ao ler Joel, é preciso reconhecer essa diferença. Por exemplo, em 2:28-31, a alusão é a sinais da volta de Jesus acontecendo no tempo em que antecede tal episódio. Mas no verso 10, a referência está mais próxima do acontecimento.
Joel profetizou que diante do Senhor, na Sua vinda, a Terra tremerá. Esse tremor é provocado pelo “grande terremoto, como nunca tinha bavido desde que há homens sobre a terra: tal foi este tao grande terremoto (Apocalipse 16:18 – RA)”.
Devido ao tremor da Terra, os céus serão abalados. O movimento aparente do Sol, da Lua e das estrelas parecerá aos olhos dos habitantes do mundo como ocorrendo fora do seu percurso natual. Tal fenômeno físico será observado devido ao efeito do “grande terremoto”, o qual provocará um deslocamento ou apalo mo movimento de rotação e translação da Terra.
O profeta Joel também anunciou que diante do Senhor da glória, o Sol, a Lua e as estrelas não emitirão sua luz. Esses astros estarão no céu, mas totalmente escuros. Isso foi o que o profeta Isaías anunciou: “Porque as estrelas dos céus e os astros não deixarão brilhar a sua luz; o sol se escurecerá ao nascer, e a lua não fará resplandecer a sua luz (Isaías 13:10)”.
Quando o Senhor aparecer nas alturas do céu, a única luz que os homens verão será aquela que emana da glória de Jesus. Essa glória será tão intensa que chegará a iluminar todo o globo terrestre (Salmo 97:4).
Concluindo o assunto, notemos: “Diante do fato de que os sinais deixados por Deus estão sucedendo um após outro em nossos dias, devemos tomar a decisão otimista de preparar-nos para aquele grande dia, para sermos dignos de encontrar o Senhor nas alturas do céu”.
