And it cometh to pass, in the seventh month, come hath Ishmael son of Nethaniah, son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and of the chiefs of the king, and ten men with him, unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, to Mizpah, and they eat there bread together in Mizpah.

And Ishmael son of Nethaniah riseth, and the ten men who have been with him, and they smite Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, with the sword, and he putteth him to death whom the king of Babylon hath appointed over the land.

And all the Jews who have been with him, with Gedaliah, in Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who have been found there -- the men of war -- hath Ishmael smitten.

that men come in from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria -- eighty men -- with shaven beards, and rent garments, and cutting themselves, and an offering and frankincense in their hand, to bring in to the house of Jehovah.

And Ishmael son of Nethaniah goeth forth to meet them, from Mizpah, going on and weeping, and it cometh to pass, at meeting them, that he saith unto them, `Come in unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam.`

And it cometh to pass, at their coming in unto the midst of the city, that Ishmael son of Nethaniah doth slaughter them, at the midst of the pit, he and the men who [are] with him.

And ten men have been found among them, and they say unto Ishmael, `Do not put us to death, for we have things hidden in the field -- wheat, and barley, and oil, and honey.` And he forbeareth, and hath not put them to death in the midst of their brethren.

And the pit whither Ishmael hath cast all the carcases of the men whom he hath smitten along with Gedaliah, is that which the king Asa made because of Baasha king of Israel -- it hath Ishmael son of Nethaniah filled with the pierced.

And Ishmael taketh captive all the remnant of the people who [are] in Mizpah, the daughters of the king, and all the people who are left in Mizpah, whom Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, hath committed [to] Gedaliah son of Ahikam, and Ishmael son of Nethaniah taketh them captive, and goeth to pass over unto the sons of Ammon.

Gênesis 46-47
Eu estava no interior de Santa Catarina, no auge das chuvas de novembro de 2008, numa viagem a trabalho, quando me vi ilhado devido à situação caótica que os desbarrancamentos deixaram, sem ter como sair da cidade para voltar a São Paulo. Mas o pior não era a minha situação.
O vale de Itajaà enfrentou uma catástrofe pluvial tremenda. Imagino que você acompanhou pela mÃdia. Mas a situação foi muito pior do que a mÃdia mostrou. Coisa terrÃvel! A situação daqueles cidadãos que moravam ali, no foco do problema, e estavam sendo atingidos diretamente foi muito dura. Eles perderam a casa, o carro e até pessoas queridas. Era chuva demais! Enquanto que, em outras partes do paÃs, há tanta gente passando necessidade por falta de chuva.
Os problemas da terra seca ou do descontrole da chuva são antigos. Quando esses problemas assolam uma região, primeiro vem o estado de emergência, depois a declaração de estado de calamidade pública, a fome, e o povo continua lutando para tentar fazer algo. No caso de Santa Catarina, o que nós, brasileiros, tentamos fazer foi enviar comida para. Milhões e milhões de quilos de alimentos foram enviados.
Agora, no caso da fome geral que aconteceu na sociedade no tempo de Jacó, quem teve que sair de um lugar e ir para o outro foram as próprias pessoas. Eles emigraram para o Egito. E a migração é uma resolução de problema imediata que pode trazer maiores problemas futuros.
Foi, também, em 2008, na crise financeira mundial que se desencadeou a partir da crise imobiliária dos Estados Unidos, que o presidente brasileiro falou para o mundo, em entrevista, que os paÃses ricos deveriam cuidar em resolver o problema dos paÃses pobres, ajudando-os. Caso contrário, o mundo sofreria uma crise de migração dos pobres para os lugares ricos, o que daria uma quebradeira geral maior ainda. Lula estava certo. Essa lição está na BÃblia, há muito tempo. No tempo de Jacó, a maior potência financeira do mundo era o Egito. E quando a crise financeira chegou, esse paÃs rico foi a solução para resolver o problema dos pobres.

Podemos tirar grandes lições da história da famÃlia de Jacó, dos filhos dele e da experiência de vida de José, no Egito. Lições essas que podem ajudar a resolver muitos problemas sociais presentes entre nós, hoje em dia, afinal, o contexto pode até mudar, mas o ser humano é sempre o mesmo.
