And it cometh to pass, in the seventh month, come hath Ishmael son of Nethaniah, son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and of the chiefs of the king, and ten men with him, unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, to Mizpah, and they eat there bread together in Mizpah.

And Ishmael son of Nethaniah riseth, and the ten men who have been with him, and they smite Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, with the sword, and he putteth him to death whom the king of Babylon hath appointed over the land.

And all the Jews who have been with him, with Gedaliah, in Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who have been found there -- the men of war -- hath Ishmael smitten.

that men come in from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria -- eighty men -- with shaven beards, and rent garments, and cutting themselves, and an offering and frankincense in their hand, to bring in to the house of Jehovah.

And Ishmael son of Nethaniah goeth forth to meet them, from Mizpah, going on and weeping, and it cometh to pass, at meeting them, that he saith unto them, `Come in unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam.`

And it cometh to pass, at their coming in unto the midst of the city, that Ishmael son of Nethaniah doth slaughter them, at the midst of the pit, he and the men who [are] with him.

And ten men have been found among them, and they say unto Ishmael, `Do not put us to death, for we have things hidden in the field -- wheat, and barley, and oil, and honey.` And he forbeareth, and hath not put them to death in the midst of their brethren.

And the pit whither Ishmael hath cast all the carcases of the men whom he hath smitten along with Gedaliah, is that which the king Asa made because of Baasha king of Israel -- it hath Ishmael son of Nethaniah filled with the pierced.

And Ishmael taketh captive all the remnant of the people who [are] in Mizpah, the daughters of the king, and all the people who are left in Mizpah, whom Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, hath committed [to] Gedaliah son of Ahikam, and Ishmael son of Nethaniah taketh them captive, and goeth to pass over unto the sons of Ammon.

O SEGREDO DAS CONQUISTAS DE UM FILHO DE DEUS
1Crônicas 17-20
Qual é o segredo das grandes conquistas que acontecem na vida de um cristão? Qual foi o segredo de Davi, em suas grandes conquistas? Ontem comentei sobre o segredo de Davi para não se estressar. O começo da conquista começa exatamente aí: louvar a Deus.
Depois que Davi louvou a Deus de todo o seu coração, embora não sendo no lugar e momento oficial de fazer um louvor formal, mas depois tê-Lo buscado, vem o capítulo 17, onde tem a promessa de Deus a Davi. É claro que estou pulando algumas partes, mas sei que você vai ler ao fazer sua leitura. Pensando nisso, estou lembrando de algo que Társis Iraídes, um dos cantores do quarteto Arautos do Rei, sempre gosta de falar ao apresentar os estudos que ele faz sobre música e louvor. Ele diz que é no louvor que Deus se manifesta. Ou seja, o louvor é o espaço da adoração para recebermos as bênçãos de Deus. O canal pelo qual vamos até o trono é a oração, mas o canal pelo qual as bênçãos descem até nós é o louvor. E isso não somente é interessante, como pode ser visto nessa análise que estou fazendo de 1Crônicas 17 em diante.
E a bênção que Deus tinha para dar a Davi, para aquele canal que o louvor tinha recém-aberto era uma promessa. E promessa, quando é de Deus, é exatamente igual ao presente já recebido, porque Deus é 100% fiel em cumprir suas promessas, no que tange às Suas obrigações. Para Suas promessas, não cabe aquela preocupação do imperador militar francês Napoleão Bonaparte, quando, fazendo um comentário sobre o assunto, disse que “A melhor maneira de manter sua palavra é não dá-la.” Para as promessas de Deus, não cabe essa dúvida. Quando Deus dá Sua promessa, é porque Ele pretende cumpri-la. No nível humano, podemos dizer que ninguém promete tanto como aquele que não pretende cumprir, mas com Deus é diferente. Prove isso através da leitura bíblica.
Voltando ao assunto do segredo da conquista na vida de um filho de Deus, vemos que Davi não era interesseiro, que só buscava a Deus para receber o presente. Depois que Ele lhe deu o presente, Davi faz uma linda oração. Esse é outro segredo das conquistas que um cristão obtém. Depois que Davi louvou, abriu o canal das bênçãos, recebeu os “oks” de Deus e abriu o canal dele para Deus. Em oração, de mãos dadas com Deus, veja o que aconteceu nos capítulos 19-20.
O cristão só conquista com Deus. Sem Ele, o que consegue é só ilusão.
