and Jeremiah cometh in unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, to Mizpah, and dwelleth with him, in the midst of the people who are left in the land.

And all the heads of the forces that [are] in the field hear, they and their men, that the king of Babylon hath appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam over the land, and that he hath charged him [with] men, and women, and infants, and of the poor of the land, of those who have not been removed to Babylon;

and they come in unto Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan sons of Kareah, and Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah son of the Maachathite, they and their men.

And swear to them doth Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, and to their men, saying, `Be not afraid of serving the Chaldeans, abide in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it is well for you;

and I, lo, I am dwelling in Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who are come in unto us, and ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruit, and oil, and put in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.`

And also all the Jews who [are] in Moab, and among the sons of Ammon, and in Edom, and who [are] in all the lands, have heard that the king of Babylon hath given a remnant to Judah, and that he hath appointed over them Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan,

and all the Jews from all the places whither they have been driven, turn back and enter the land of Judah, unto Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and they gather wine and summer fruit -- very much.

And Johanan son of Kareah, and all the heads of the forces that [are] in the field, have come in unto Gedaliah to Mizpah,

and they say unto him, `Dost thou really know that Baalis king of the sons of Ammon hath sent Ishmael son of Nethaniah to smite thy soul?` And Gedaliah son of Ahikam hath not given to them credence.

And Johanan son of Kareah hath spoken unto Gedaliah in secret, in Mizpah, saying, `Let me go, I pray thee, and I smite Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and no one doth know; why doth he smite thy soul? and scattered have been all Judah who are gathered unto thee, and perished hath the remnant of Judah.`

1Samuel 11-13
Como você quer que sua história seja escrita? Se já é alguém idoso, que já viveu bastante, pergunto: Se fosse para você fazer um discurso que fossem as suas palavras de despedida e, nesse discurso, fizesse uma retrospectiva da sua vida e com o seu exemplo de vida deixar o seu recado final, o que diria?
Se você é jovem e tem toda a vida pela frente, tenho outra pergunta: Como quer que sua história seja escrita? Com quem quer ser comparado? Na lista de qual tipo de gente quer entrar? Resumindo, qual é o seu sonho de vida? Você tem um sonho? Essa pergunta é muito séria. Você tem um objetivo ou vive por viver? Se você vive “empurrando a vida com a barriga”, digo-lhe que a vida passará e, provavelmente, sua história ficará no esquecimento.
No entanto, se desejar, pode ser como Samuel, um grande homem na história da humanidade. Como? Vejamos sobre o diferencial desse profeta. Você pode encontrar a chave desse segredo na leitura de hoje, principalmente em 1Samuel 12, quando lemos o seu discurso de despedida. Ele estava bem velhinho, de cabelos brancos, e se colocou diante das pessoas, falando para a nação: “Tenho vivido diante de vocês desde a minha juventude até agora.” Ele faz um histórico do seu currículo, do quanto tinha trabalhado por aquele povo e das vitórias e decepções que eles tinham vivido juntos. O povo olhava para esse homem como um herói. Ele tinha sido seu educador. Eles tinham errado muitas vezes, e Samuel tinha lhes ajudado.
Você também tem vontade de trabalhar para Deus? Quer saber o segredo do chamado e do sucesso? Quer saber por que algumas pessoas se destacam na humanidade? No livro intitulado “Conselhos aos Pais, Professores e Estudantes”, pág. 537, encontramos algo relacionado ao segredo de Samuel e o que isso tem a ver com você, sua vida e seus sonhos: “A todos é dada oportunidade de desenvolver o caráter. Todos podem ocupar o lugar que lhes é designado no grande plano de Deus. O Senhor aceitou Samuel já desde a infância, porque seu coração era puro. Ele foi dado a Deus, oferta consagrada, e o Senhor fez dele um veículo de luz. Se a juventude de hoje se consagrar como o fez Samuel, o Senhor a aceitará e a empregará em Sua obra. E lhes será dado dizerem a respeito de sua vida, juntamente com o salmista: ‘Ensinaste-me, ó Deus, desde a minha mocidade; e até aqui tenho anunciado as Tuas maravilhas’.” Salmo 71:17.
Tenha um sonho e coloque seu projeto de vida e seu coração nas mãos de Deus!
