And when the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered together as one man to Jerusalem.

|Esdras 3:2|
Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer up burnt-offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

And they set the altar on its base; for fear was upon them because of the people of the countries; and they offered up burnt-offerings on it to Jehovah, the morning and evening burnt-offerings.

And they held the feast of tabernacles as it is written, and [offered] daily burnt-offerings by number, according to the ordinance, as the duty of every day required;

and afterwards the continual burnt-offering, and those of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of Jehovah that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a voluntary offering to Jehovah.

From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer up burnt-offerings to Jehovah. But the foundation of the temple of Jehovah was not [yet] laid.

And they gave money to the masons and to the carpenters; and meat and drink and oil to the Zidonians and to the Tyrians, to bring cedar-trees from Lebanon to the sea at Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.

And in the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem; and they appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to superintend the work of the house of Jehovah.

And Jeshua stood up, his sons and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, as one [man], to superintend the workmen in the house of God; [also] the sons of Henadad, their sons and their brethren, the Levites.

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of Jehovah, they set the priests in their apparel, with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise Jehovah according to the directions of David king of Israel.

COLOSSENSES
Colossenses
De acordo com o Seventh Day Adventist Dictionary, “Kolossai” era uma cidade da Ásia Menor, a sudoeste da Frígia, no rio Lycus, não muito longe do local onde o rio desagua no Maeander. Situando-se a 17.5 km de Laodiceia e a 21 km de Hierápolis, encontrando-se, originalmente, na grande rota comercial que partia de Éfeso, via Magnésia, Colosso e Tarso, terminando na Síria.
Colosso é mencionada por Herodoto e Xenofonte como sendo uma cidade grande e rica. Devia a sua riqueza principalmente à lã e à tinta violeta, chamada colossinus, que aí se produzia. Quando a rota comercial mudou, Colosso entrou em declínio. Podem ainda ser vistas algumas ruínas de Colosso perto da aldeia de Honaz. A população do tempo do Novo Testamento era composta principalmente por frígios, gregos e judeus, embora predominassem os frígios.
A igreja cristã dos colossenses provavelmente tenha sido fundada por Epafras (1:7). Mais tarde, um certo Arquipo passou a ser o seu líder (4:17; Filemon 2). Nos tempos de Paulo, parece que as reuniões eram realizadas na casa de Filemon, o dono de Onésimo, escravo fugitivo convertido por Paulo em Roma e que, mais tarde, voltou para o seu dono (4:10-12). A leitura de hoje, é a carta que Paulo escreveu à igreja desta cidade.
Nesta carta, o apóstolo aconselhou, não somente aos colossenses, mas a todos os cristãos, inclusive a nós, quanto à importância dos relacionamentos cristãos. O cristão precisa ter um autêntico relacionamento com Cristo. É também importante ao cristão, relacionar-se bem com os outros cristãos. E você encontra esta ênfase em toda esta carta. O próprio autor da carta já a introduz com esta preocupação para consigo mesmo, na maneira que introduz o prefácio, com uma saudação. Em seguida, em sua ação de graças, ele lembra a todos os crentes sobre a dependência de Deus, Aquele que deve ser o nosso amigo mais íntimo.
Na esfera cristã, relacionar-se não é somente conversar uns com os outros, mas também pelos outros. Como assim? Conversando com Deus sobre os outros cristãos, orando por eles. Ao interceder-se com eles, você estará relacionando-se com Deus, e com eles.
A excelência da pessoa e da obra de Cristo consiste no fato de que Ele nos libertou do império das trevas e nos transportou para o seu reino de amor. Ele quer-nos sempre junto a Ele. Resta-nos portanto, progredirmos espiritualmente, cuidarmos para não sermos contaminados por heresias, cultivarmos as virtudes cristãs, sermos obedientes, abandonarmos os vícios, cumprirmos com nossos deveres familiares, sermos prudentes, e confiarmos que a graça de Cristo completará o restante.
Pois afinal, não é por estes caprichos, mas por Sua graça, que somos salvos.
