The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, after that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the body-guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him, being bound in chains, among all the captivity of Jerusalem and Judah, that were carried away captive to Babylon.

And the captain of the body-guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, Jehovah thy God pronounced this evil upon this place,

and Jehovah hath brought [it about] and done according as he said; for ye have sinned against Jehovah, and have not hearkened unto his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.

And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains that are upon thy hand. If it seem good in thy sight to come with me to Babylon, come, and I will keep mine eye upon thee; but if it seem ill unto thee to come with me to Babylon, forbear. See, all the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and right in thy sight to go, thither go.

And while he had not yet given answer; [he said,] Yea, go back to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath appointed over the cities of Judah, and abide with him in the midst of the people; or go wheresoever it seemeth right in thy sight to go. And the captain of the body-guard gave him provisions and a present, and let him go.

And Jeremiah came unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah, and abode with him among the people that remained in the land.

And all the captains of the forces that were in the fields, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam over the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that had not been carried away captive to Babylon.

And they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah; even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan swore unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

And as for me, behold, I dwell at Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans, who will come unto us; and ye, gather wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put [them] in your vessels, and dwell in your cities which ye have taken.

ESCOLINHA DE JESUS

Um dos melhores livros que li no último ano da faculdade foi “A Pedagogia de Jesus”, de J.M. Price, - JUERP. Quando fui professor, precisei reler este livro. Anteriormente publicado sob o título “Jesus, o Mestre por Excelência”, esse livro é a resultante da vida de trabalho do professor Price: aulas de ensino religioso no Seminário do Sudoeste (EUA), palestras feitas para professores de escolas bíblicas denominacionais, reuniões de congressos e de convenções regionais de classes bíblicas e cursos intensivos. É claro que não trata-se de um livro que pretende ser uma apresentação exaustiva ou erudita de Jesus como mestre. O objetivo dele é extrair da vida e dos ensinos de Jesus aquelas verdades que possam dar aos professores melhor visão e maior estímulo em sua gloriosa tarefa de ensinar.
Penso que nosso estudo deve partir do sentimento de que os professores cristãos (e aqui incluo qualquer pessoa, que em qualquer nível e contexto, ensine algo da Bíblia a outro) são hoje efetivamente a maior força para o ensino e a prática do bem. Ensinar os conceitos bíblicos não é fácil. Os professores de Ensino Religioso sabem muito bem disso. Eles, que laboram sob dificuldades e desencorajamentos mui fortes, para o bendito labor em que estão empenhados, precisam muito - e muito - de inspiração e de maior preparo. Mas qualquer de qualquer cristão espera-se o testemunho. E no testemunho eficaz estão subtendidos o ensino e o aprendizado.
E então, como ser um “ensinador” cristão? Sendo alguém que ensina como Cristo. E como era o ensino de Jesus? Sem teorizações, abra sua Bíblia em Mateus 11-13 e veja, na prática, o que rola na sala de aulas do Grande Mestre. “Quando acabou de instruir...”. O texto já começa assim. Jesus gastou dois terços do seu tempo ministerial ensinando. Ele gostava disso, e, com isso, influenciava. Este deve ter sido o motivo que levou João Batista, o seu primo, e professor precursor, a fazer uma pergunta para Jesus. Ele queria aprender de Jesus. Isto não diz nada a você? Claro que sim, não é mesmo? Então, venha curtir os ensinos do Messias, comigo.
Ele lamenta pelas cidades que não se arrependem dos seus pecados, e diz o porquê. Ele deixa claro sobre como é que os cansados podem encontrar repouso. Ensina também sobre porquê devemos guardar o sábado. Instrui sobre o servo escolhido de Deus, depois, da acusação que fazem contra Ele, deixa mais instruções ainda, como por exemplo sobre o sinal de Jonas. Por fim, deixa claro sobre quem são sua mãe e irmãos e conta sete parábolas.
