|Esdras 3:1|
And the seventh month cometh, and the sons of Israel [are] in the cities, and the people are gathered, as one men, unto Jerusalem.

|Esdras 3:2|
And rise doth Jeshua son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and they build the altar of the God of Israel, to cause to ascend upon it burnt-offerings, as it is written in the law of Moses, the man of God.

|Esdras 3:3|
And they establish the altar on its bases, because of the fear upon them of the peoples of the lands, and he causeth burnt-offerings to ascend upon it to Jehovah, burnt-offerings for the morning and for the evening.

And they make the feast of the booths as it is written, and the burnt-offering of the day daily in number according to the ordinance, the matter of a day in its day;

|Esdras 3:5|
and after this a continual burnt-offering, and for new moons, and for all appointed seasons of Jehovah that are sanctified; and for every one who is willingly offering a willing-offering to Jehovah.

From the first day of the seventh month they have begun to cause burnt-offerings to ascend to Jehovah, and the temple of Jehovah hath not been founded,

and they give money to hewers and to artificers, and food, and drink, and oil to Zidonians and to Tyrians, to bring in cedar-trees from Lebanon unto the sea of Joppa, according to the permission of Cyrus king of Persia concerning them.

And in the second year of their coming in unto the house of God, to Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all those coming from the captivity to Jerusalem, and they appoint the Levites from a son of twenty years and upward, to overlook the work of the house of Jehovah.

And Jeshua standeth, [and] his sons, and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, sons of Judah together, to overlook those doing the work in the house of God; the sons of Henadad, [and] their sons and their brethren the Levites.

And those building have founded the temple of Jehovah, and they appoint the priests, clothed, with trumpets, and the Levites, sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise Jehovah, by means of [the instruments of] David king of Israel.

Neemias 12-13
Concluí a leitura de hoje e fui almoçar. Deixei para escrever o comentário depois que almoçasse. No restaurante, me assentei à mesa com cinco colegas de trabalho, que estavam discutindo sobre assuntos de profecia. Mas a preocupação deles era o zelo pela igreja ao tratar do assunto de dom profético. Percebi que eles estavam mais preocupados em zelar pelo nome de Deus, do ministério e da igreja que em compreender determinadas definições teológicas.
Então, me deu um insight! Lembrei do personagem da nossa leitura bíblica. Neemias: alguém extremamente zeloso pela Obra de Deus. Na rodinha de amigos, onde ouvi a conversa sobre profecia, no zelo pela pregação, era uma discussão pacífica, tudo numa boa. Mas, às vezes, entre as pessoas que trabalham diretamente no serviço efetivo da Obra de Deus, as discussões ficam bem acaloradas.
Isso já aconteceu comigo uma vez. No meu contexto de trabalho, estávamos sofrendo com um problema há três anos. E esse problema prejudicava o andamento do trabalho de Deus. Todos sabiam que o problema poderia ser resolvido e como resolvê-lo. Mas, já estávamos com três anos de jugo, e a pessoa que tinha que resolver parecia não se importar. Um dia, a bomba estourou na minha mão. Então, eu disse uma frase de impacto bem forte, desliguei minha máquina, levantei da minha mesa e fui embora. Meu chefe veio conversar comigo depois. Ele perguntou por que eu tinha ficado com raiva das pessoas e de quem eu tinha ficado com raiva. Fui pego de surpresa, porque eu não tinha me perguntado sobre isso. Parei para pensar no assunto e cheguei a uma conclusão: não tive raiva de ninguém. Meu chefe perguntou: “Então, por que estava tão preocupado consigo mesmo?” Mais uma vez, ele me pegou de surpresa, mas de novo não era aquela a questão. Refleti e respondi: Eu não estava preocupado comigo mesmo. Tanto é que me expus.
Depois de fazermos uma análise, descobrimos que minha irritação era para com a negligência existente, naquele contexto, na Obra de Deus. Tomei uma atitude radical por zelo, por amor ao trabalho do Senhor. E sabe que terminou sendo uma bênção aquela decisão radical? Depois do ocorrido, o problema passou a desenrolar-se e ser resolvido.
Hoje, olho para trás e vejo que Deus estava guiando tudo. Creio que quando nos colocamos nas mãos de Deus, Ele guia. Mas, na época, eu não via isso. Senti-me mal pela decisão forte que eu havia tomado. Mas quando li o final do livro de Neemias, percebi que a mesma coisa acontecia com os personagens bíblicos. Por isso, não tenha medo de lutar pela honra do nome de Deus.
