|Esdras 3:1|
And the seventh month cometh, and the sons of Israel [are] in the cities, and the people are gathered, as one men, unto Jerusalem.

|Esdras 3:2|
And rise doth Jeshua son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and they build the altar of the God of Israel, to cause to ascend upon it burnt-offerings, as it is written in the law of Moses, the man of God.

|Esdras 3:3|
And they establish the altar on its bases, because of the fear upon them of the peoples of the lands, and he causeth burnt-offerings to ascend upon it to Jehovah, burnt-offerings for the morning and for the evening.

And they make the feast of the booths as it is written, and the burnt-offering of the day daily in number according to the ordinance, the matter of a day in its day;

|Esdras 3:5|
and after this a continual burnt-offering, and for new moons, and for all appointed seasons of Jehovah that are sanctified; and for every one who is willingly offering a willing-offering to Jehovah.

From the first day of the seventh month they have begun to cause burnt-offerings to ascend to Jehovah, and the temple of Jehovah hath not been founded,

and they give money to hewers and to artificers, and food, and drink, and oil to Zidonians and to Tyrians, to bring in cedar-trees from Lebanon unto the sea of Joppa, according to the permission of Cyrus king of Persia concerning them.

And in the second year of their coming in unto the house of God, to Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all those coming from the captivity to Jerusalem, and they appoint the Levites from a son of twenty years and upward, to overlook the work of the house of Jehovah.

And Jeshua standeth, [and] his sons, and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, sons of Judah together, to overlook those doing the work in the house of God; the sons of Henadad, [and] their sons and their brethren the Levites.

And those building have founded the temple of Jehovah, and they appoint the priests, clothed, with trumpets, and the Levites, sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise Jehovah, by means of [the instruments of] David king of Israel.

Josué 01-04
No comentário de hoje, quero apresentar a você um grande homem. Seu nome é Josué. Ele foi o sucessor de Moisés e tem seu próprio livro na Bíblia que leva o seu nome. Esse é um dos grandes livros da Bíblia! Não em tamanho, mas na grandeza que a mensagem dele apresenta. Na verdade, Josué também foi um gigante. Não no tamanho físico, mas gigante no sentido da força, coragem, virtudes corretas e como instrumento poderoso nas mãos de Deus.
Estou fazendo essa apresentação porque começamos hoje a leitura do livro de Josué em nosso plano anual de ler a Bíblia. Como iremos ler esse livro, compensa saber alguns detalhes básicos, como exemplo, sobre quem teria escrito esse livro. Reposta fácil?
É. Provavelmente o autor tenha sido o próprio Josué. O tema principal do seu livro é falar da conquista e da divisão da terra de Canaã. Pelo fato de o livro falar bastante sobre conquistas, há muitos teólogos que dizem que o pensamento-chave desse livro está em Josué 1:8-9: versos que transmitem a ideia de como obter êxito nas lutas da vida.
Mas se fizermos um resumo, talvez em forma de esboço, do livro de Josué, fazendo uma análise histórica, podemos dividir o livro em sete partes:
1ª parte – capítulos 1-5: fala da invasão da terra;
2ª parte – capítulo 6: aborda sobre a queda de Jericó;
3ª parte - capítulos 7-8: descrevem tanto a batalha em Ai quanto o que aconteceu com o povo de Israel na região dos montes Ebal e Gerizim;
4ª parte – capítulo 10: descreve a conquista do sul;
5ª parte - capítulos 11-12: continua falando de conquista, mas dessa vez é a conquista do norte. Também fala da lista dos reis mortos;
6ª parte - capítulos 13-22: conta sobre a divisão da terra, a designação das cidades de refúgio;
7ª parte - capítulos 23-24: contém as palavras de despedida de Josué e a descrição do que aconteceu por ocasião da sua morte.
Mas a lição principal é o ensino de que a certeza do cumprimento dos propósitos divinos realmente existe. Podemos ter a segurança de que Deus está no controle.
Se observarmos atentamente, veremos que existem muitos “tipos” estabelecidos no livro de Josué. Por exemplo: existe uma concepção comum de que a travessia do Jordão representaria a morte e, Canaã, o Céu. Como sabermos a veracidade de interpretações assim? Tais tipologias merecem nossa atenção quanto ao seu cumprimento ou não.
Deus cumpriu Sua vontade na vida de Josué por escrever essa história tão linda. Ele pode cumprir Sua vontade na sua vida também. Abra o seu coração e aceite os desígnios de Deus!
