|Esdras 3:1|
And the seventh month cometh, and the sons of Israel [are] in the cities, and the people are gathered, as one men, unto Jerusalem.

|Esdras 3:2|
And rise doth Jeshua son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and they build the altar of the God of Israel, to cause to ascend upon it burnt-offerings, as it is written in the law of Moses, the man of God.

|Esdras 3:3|
And they establish the altar on its bases, because of the fear upon them of the peoples of the lands, and he causeth burnt-offerings to ascend upon it to Jehovah, burnt-offerings for the morning and for the evening.

|Esdras 3:4|
And they make the feast of the booths as it is written, and the burnt-offering of the day daily in number according to the ordinance, the matter of a day in its day;

|Esdras 3:5|
and after this a continual burnt-offering, and for new moons, and for all appointed seasons of Jehovah that are sanctified; and for every one who is willingly offering a willing-offering to Jehovah.

From the first day of the seventh month they have begun to cause burnt-offerings to ascend to Jehovah, and the temple of Jehovah hath not been founded,

and they give money to hewers and to artificers, and food, and drink, and oil to Zidonians and to Tyrians, to bring in cedar-trees from Lebanon unto the sea of Joppa, according to the permission of Cyrus king of Persia concerning them.

And in the second year of their coming in unto the house of God, to Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all those coming from the captivity to Jerusalem, and they appoint the Levites from a son of twenty years and upward, to overlook the work of the house of Jehovah.

And Jeshua standeth, [and] his sons, and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, sons of Judah together, to overlook those doing the work in the house of God; the sons of Henadad, [and] their sons and their brethren the Levites.

And those building have founded the temple of Jehovah, and they appoint the priests, clothed, with trumpets, and the Levites, sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise Jehovah, by means of [the instruments of] David king of Israel.

UM ATEU GARANTE: DEUS EXISTE

Você já leu o livro “Um Ateu Garante: Deus Existe”? Eu o recomendo. Ao iniciar a leitura dele, fiquei boquiaberto logo nas primeiras páginas. O autor procura falar sobre as “provas incontestáveis de um filósofo que não acreditava em nada.” O nome desse filósofo é Antony Flew, ícone da filosofia do século XX, um dos maiores ateus dos últimos cem anos, pai dos argumentos de muitos filósofos e ateus. Ele concentrou-se tanto no assunto de provar que Deus não existe, que terminou conseguindo enxergar as evidências da existência de Deus. Converteu-se! A “Associated Press”, no dia 9 de novembro de 2004 publicou a matéria: “Sim, mudou de opinião. Ele, Antony Flew, agora afirma que Deus existe!”
Pense bem, isso é praticamente impossível! Não que seja impossível um intelectual conseguir ter a inteligência de perceber que Deus exista. Dificílimo é que esses orgulhosos dêem o braço a torcer. Eles se acham poderosos. Mas o maior poder de Flew foi a sua honestidade. Antony Flew, de “o maior filósofo do século XX”, passou a ser o pensador mais corajoso em ser honesto com sua intelectualidade que até agora já conhecemos, no século XXI.
Isso é algo tão histórico, que fatos de poderosos contestando a existência de Deus e sendo contestados, em sua própria contestação pela existência real dEle, têm ficado com suas memórias, muitas vezes vergonhosas, marcadas, ao longo da História. Um caso mais ou menos assim aconteceu com outro famoso que queria filosofar demais. Estou falando do poderoso faraó, que a partir do trono do Egito, dominava o mundo há mais de 3500 anos. Acreditamos na existência de Jeová, único Deus, Criador dos Céus e da Terra. Faraó não. Veja o que uma parte da leitura de hoje diz: “Depois disso Moisés e Arão foram falar com o faraó e disseram: Assim diz o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel: Deixe o meu povo ir para celebrar-me uma festa no deserto. O faraó respondeu: Quem é o SENHOR, para que eu lhe obedeça e deixe Israel sair? Não conheço o SENHOR, e não deixarei Israel sair.”
Quando alguém desafia Deus dessa forma, ou ele volta atrás mais tarde, como fez Antony Flew, ou então a coisa, um dia, mais cedo ou mais tarde, fica preta para ele. Nem que seja no dia do juízo final. Muitas vezes, a pessoa paga o preço aqui nesta vida mesmo. Muitos questionam porque faraó teve que “engolir” tanta praga, como sangue, rãs, piolhos, moscas, morte dos rebanhos... Isso é porque ele desafiava a Deus. Estava pagando o preço. Esse foi o começo do que no final ficou provado: Deus existe.
