And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,

and cast him into the abyss, and shut [it], and sealed [it] over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time.

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

The rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: over these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Hoje você começa a estudar o livro de Ezequiel. Serão duas semanas inteiras, lendo somente este livro. Portanto, uma introdução ao mesmo é oportuna. E para a mesma, conto aqui com uma ajuda externa, através de uma palavra orientadora e introdutória do professor de teologia Siegfried J. Schwantes, quanto ao livro de Ezequiel. Boa leitura.
O livro de Ezequiel está cheio de visões e profecias reveladas pelo Senhor a Seu profeta. E de acordo com o Ph.D. que citei no parágrafo acima, ainda que estas revelações foram dadas ao povo de Deus durante o cativeiro babilônico, muitas ainda estão por se cumprir.
No livro de Ezequiel encontram-se alertas de castigo por práticas pecaminosas e obstinadas, todavia há gloriosas promessas de encorajamento para aqueles que procuram honrar a Deus mesmo no meio de pesadas provações.
De maneira geral os estudantes da Bíblia ficam perplexos com as visões de difícil compreensão apresentadas por este profeta e falham em perceber a mensagem central de Deus de que Ele é o Senhor. Porém, para o estudioso aplicado este livro não oferecerá nenhuma dificuldade se fizer uma comparação cuidadosa de texto com texto das Sagradas Escrituras, preservando-se das interpretações particulares que não se harmonizam com o todo da Palavra de Deus.
Logo, você já percebeu que é necessário, mais do que ler Ezequiel, estudar este livro. Procure, de maneira agradável, como um dedicado estudante do Livro Sagrado, a compreender a verdade e as argumentações básicas das visões deste profeta, bem como suas profecias simbólicas. Você pode, além de estudar segundo o nosso plano de leitura diária, estudar o livro por seções, para que, em cada uma delas, consiga captar a idéia central e analisar os temas maiores, tratando igualmente de vários problemas que vão se apresentando. Como?
Quer entender Ezequiel? Em primeiro lugar, pedindo ao Espírito Santo que ilumine a sua mente, através da oração e meditação, cada vez que for estudar. Somada a isto, vem a necessidade de não fazer uma leitura superficial, mas profunda, talvez relendo várias vezes, e fazendo anotações. A fazer as releituras, use diferentes versões da tradução bíblica, e compare-as. Para encontrar uma divisão correta das seções, oriente-se através dos títulos e subtítulos da Nova Versão Internacional. Acompanhe o nosso comentário diário deste plano de leitura da Bíblia. Procure em alguma biblioteca, site ou livraria, livros que comentem o livro de Ezequiel, e leia-os. E por fim, leia o livro “Profetas e Reis”, da Casa Publicadora Brasileira.
