|Jeremias 40:1|
The word which came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah, that were carried away captive unto Babylon.

And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, Jehovah thy God pronounced this evil upon this place;

and Jehovah hath brought it, and done according as he spake: because ye have sinned against Jehovah, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.

And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which are upon thy hand. If it seem good unto thee to come with me into Babylon, come, and I will look well unto thee; but if it seem ill unto thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee; whither it seemeth good and right unto thee to go, thither go.

Now while he was not yet gone back, Go back then, [said he], to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wheresoever it seemeth right unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a present, and let him go.

Then went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah, and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.

Now when all the captains of the forces that were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poorest of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;

then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, [to wit], Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans that shall come unto us: but ye, gather ye wine and summer fruits and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.

QUANTO CUSTA SUA FAMÍLIA?
Provérbios 16-19
“Melhor é um pedaço de pão seco com paz e tranquilidade do que uma casa onde há banquete e muitas brigas.” Já parou para pensar nisso? O que você acha? É ou não uma grande verdade?
Esse verso é só um dos tantos “provérbios da hora” que está na leitura bíblica de hoje que, aliás, tem mais de 100 provérbios. Cada um é melhor que o outro. Você concorda com o provérbio citado acima? Tem muita gente que não. Pode até dizer que sim, mas no seu comportamento e ações, age totalmente diferente. Um exemplo é o tipo de pai de família fissurado por trabalho.
Pedro era um menino que tinha tudo o que queria e não queria, exceto algo que desejava muito.
Um dia, foi se queixar com a mãe:
- Por que meu pai não brinca comigo?
- Seu pai é um homem muito ocupado, o tempo dele é muito precioso - respondeu.
A criança foi para o quarto, muito pensativa. Pegou o cofrinho e foi contar quanto havia economizado de sua mesada. Adormeceu, chorando de saudade do pai.
Mais tarde, ele acordou com a chegada do Sr. Rafael e correu para encontrá-lo:
- Papai, é verdade que seu tempo é muito precioso?
- É verdade - disse, desviando o olhar do filho.
- Quanto custa uma hora do seu tempo? - O Sr. Rafael disse que não sabia.
O pequeno Pedro insistiu para obter uma resposta até que o pai perdeu a paciência e brigou com ele. Com medo, voltou para o quarto.
Depois que esfriou a cabeça, o Sr. Rafael refletiu sobre a maneira como havia tratado o pequeno e foi até o quarto do filho. Como viu que o garoto ainda estava acordado, o pai tentou um diálogo:
- Você ainda quer saber quanto ganho? O menino balançou a cabeça afirmando que sim. O pai estufou o peito e suspirou fundo. Parecia que a atmosfera do quarto trazia-lhe o ar da satisfação, de enfim dizer ao seu filho o valor do pai que ele tinha.
- Eu ganho 300 reais por hora.
O menino levou um susto, mas animou-se o suficiente para pedir:
- O senhor pode me emprestar 100 reais?
Para continuar impressionando o filho, o pai entregou-lhe o dinheiro. Curioso, perguntou:
- Posso saber pra quê?
O garoto puxou um bolo de notinhas enroladas, de debaixo do travesseiro.
- Eu já consegui juntar 200 reais, mais estes 100 que o senhor me emprestou, dá 300. Agora o senhor pode me vender uma hora do seu tempo pra brincar comigo?
Quanto custa seu lar? Já parou para pensar nisso?
