That same day King Xerxes gave Queen Esther the estate of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. And Mordecai came into the presence of the king, for Esther had told how he was related to her.

|Ester 8:2|
The king took off his signet ring, which he had reclaimed from Haman, and presented it to Mordecai. And Esther appointed him over Haman’s estate.

|Ester 8:3|
Esther again pleaded with the king, falling at his feet and weeping. She begged him to put an end to the evil plan of Haman the Agagite, which he had devised against the Jews.

Then the king extended the gold sceptre to Esther and she arose and stood before him.

“If it pleases the king,” she said, “and if he regards me with favour and thinks it the right thing to do, and if he is pleased with me, let an order be written overruling the dispatches that Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, devised and wrote to destroy the Jews in all the king’s provinces.

For how can I bear to see disaster fall on my people? How can I bear to see the destruction of my family?”

King Xerxes replied to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, “Because Haman attacked the Jews, I have given his estate to Esther, and they have hanged him on the gallows.

|Ester 8:8|
Now write another decree in the king’s name on behalf of the Jews as seems best to you, and seal it with the king’s signet ring — for no document written in the king’s name and sealed with his ring can be revoked.”

At once the royal secretaries were summoned — on the twenty-third day of the third month, the month of Sivan. They wrote out all Mordecai’s orders to the Jews, and to the satraps, governors and nobles of the 127 provinces stretching from India to Cush. [That is, the upper Nile region] These orders were written in the script of each province and the language of each people and also to the Jews in their own script and language.

Mordecai wrote in the name of King Xerxes, sealed the dispatches with the king’s signet ring, and sent them by mounted couriers, who rode fast horses especially bred for the king.

SEMPRE AO SEU LADO
Josué 18-21
Ao fazer a leitura de hoje, você perceberá que as coisas que aconteciam na vida do povo eram grandes cumprimentos das promessas que já haviam sido feitas. Deus sempre cumpre as promessas? Às vezes, pode até parecer demorado, como uma história que aconteceu na Romênia.
Havia um cidadão romeno, que sempre dizia ao filho:
- Filho, haja o que houver, sempre estarei ao seu lado.
Naquela época, aconteceu um terremoto muito grande, que arrasou muitas das construções. Aquele cidadão estava na estrada, longe do seu filho. Imagine como deve ter ficado o coração desse pai! Ele foi direto à escola onde o filho estudava. Quando chegou lá, ficou decepcionado. A escola estava totalmente destruída.
Aquele homem foi tomado de uma tristeza tão grande, que na cabeça dele ficavam latejando aquelas palavras: “Filho, haja o que houver, sempre estarei...”
Ele não podia acreditar. Teorizou isso tantas vezes, mas agora, na hora da morte, ele não pudera cumprir a promessa. Seu coração estava dilacerado.
Ele ficou andando por cima dos entulhos até descobrir a altura do local onde tinha sido a sala de aulas do filho. Desesperado, começou a cavar com as próprias mãos. Com um enorme peso na mente, ficava repetindo aquelas palavras da promessa: “Haja o que houver, sempre estarei ao seu lado.”
Outros pais chegaram, até bem intencionados, e tentavam afastá-lo, dizendo:
- Amigo, vai pra casa. Não adianta, não sobrou ninguém.
E ele, decidido, respondia:
- Você vai me ajudar?
Ninguém o ajudava. Pouco a pouco, todas as pessoas iam se afastando. E não adiantava tentar convencer aquele homem. Desesperado, cavando com as mãos, repetia a mesma frase.
A polícia, parentes e até os bombeiros tentaram convencê-lo de parar com aquela loucura, mas não adiantou. Ele continuou por 30 horas.
Aí, depois de trinta horas, quando afastou uma enorme pedra, sempre repetindo aquela frase: “Filho, haja o que houver, sempre estarei ao seu lado”, então ouviu:
- Papai! Estou aqui!
- Filho, você está bem?
- Estou. Mas tenho sede, fome e estou com medo.
Impressionante! Aquele pai conseguiu, contra tudo e todos, encontrar seu filho ainda vivo, além de mais 14 crianças sobreviventes, as quais até os bombeiros já tinham dado por mortas.
O filho teve toda essa força de sobrevivência devido à promessa: “Filho, haja o que houver, sempre estarei ao seu lado.”
Deus também sempre cumpre Suas promessas. Creia que o Senhor, o seu pai, é o pai mais amoroso e fiel do mundo. Ele nunca desiste dos Seus filhos. Sua promessa para você é: “Filho, haja o que houver, sempre estarei ao seu lado.”
Deus é apaixonado por você!
