And the king sent, and they gathered to him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.

And the king went up into the house of Jehovah, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great; and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which had been found in the house of Jehovah.

And the king stood on the dais, and made a covenant before Jehovah, to walk after Jehovah, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all [his] heart, and with all [his] soul, to establish the words of this covenant that are written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.

And the king commanded Hilkijah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring forth out of the temple of Jehovah all the vessels that had been made for Baal, and for the Asherah, and for all the host of the heavens; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them to Bethel.

And he abolished the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense on the high places in the cities of Judah, and the environs of Jerusalem; and them that burned incense to Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the constellations, and to all the host of heaven.

And he brought out the Asherah from the house of Jehovah, outside Jerusalem, to the torrent of Kidron, and burned it at the torrent of Kidron, and stamped it small to powder, and cast the powder upon the graves of the children of the people.

And he broke down the houses of the sodomites, which were in the house of Jehovah, where the women wove tents for the Asherah.

And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba even to Beer-sheba; and he broke down the high places of the gates, those at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, [and] those on the left hand of any [going in] at the gate of the city.

Nevertheless the priests of the high places came not up to the altar of Jehovah in Jerusalem, but they ate of the unleavened bread among their brethren.

And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the sons of Hinnom, that no man might cause his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.

Gênesis 08-11
A leitura de hoje está ótima. Portanto, comentarei somente a parte menos atrativa, que é sobre a origem dos povos. Não temos todas as informações necessárias sobre as origens das raças, mas sabemos que “de um só [Adão] fez ele [Deus] todos os povos, para que povoassem toda a terra, tendo determinado os tempos anteriormente estabelecidos e os lugares exatos em que deveriam habitar” (Atos 17:26). No entanto, veio uma catástrofe conhecida pela geologia, a qual a Bíblia chama de Dilúvio, onde apenas oito pessoas sobreviveram (2Pedro 2:5). Assim, apenas os três filhos de Noé passaram a ser os ancestrais de toda raça humana que viria dali para frente.
As características de um indivíduo são determinadas por fatores hereditários, ambientais, alimentares. Em Cantares de Salomão 1:5 e 6, há um exemplo da influência dos fatores ambientais. Na carga genética de cada pessoa, Deus colocou inúmeras possibilidades de variação: na estatura, na cor dos olhos, na cor da pele, na aparência física, etc. As novas raças de cães que surgem por cruzamentos induzidos é uma prova da possibilidade dentro dessa micro-evolução, que acontece sempre dentro da mesma espécie. Logo, na medida em que passaram a existir cruzamentos humanos e separação por áreas geográficas, com suas variações climáticas e alimentares, as diversas raças foram sendo apuradas e identificadas até chegarmos ao estado atual. Os cientistas criacionistas concordam que, dependendo das condições alimentares e climáticas que certas civilizações experimentaram, houve uma adaptação de cor e forma física para haver melhores chances de sobrevivência.
“As raças podem se diferenciar quando pequenos grupos são isolados. Além da distância, a linguagem é provavelmente o maior fator de isolamento. Quando as linguagens foram confundidas em Babel, provavelmente pequenos grupos se dispersaram para vários lugares, produzindo grupos isolados que se diferenciaram em raças distintas. Alguns aspectos raciais podem ser o resultado do fato de que certas características fisiológicas são vantajosas em determinados ambientes. A cor da pele é um exemplo. A luz solar é necessária para produzir vitamina D. Luz solar em excesso aumenta o risco de câncer de pele. A melanina protege os que vivem em climas tropicais do câncer da pele causado por excesso de luz solar. Isso explica porque pessoas que vivem nos trópicos têm tipicamente pele mais escura. Pessoas que vivem em latitudes mais altas não necessitam de muita proteção contra o sol e têm pele mais clara.
