|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

|Lamentações 2:2|
Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

|Lamentações 2:4|
Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

|Lamentações 2:5|
The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

|Lamentações 2:6|
He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

|Lamentações 2:7|
The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

|Lamentações 2:8|
The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

|Lamentações 2:9|
Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

|Lamentações 2:10|
The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

COMO COMEÇAR
1Crônicas 01-03
Hoje, começamos um novo mês e uma nova leitura: mais um livro da Bíblia. É o livro das Crônicas, que nos leva à lembrança de como tudo começou, as origens.
Existem muitos desinformados deste mundo que se apóiam em um homem que já morreu. A influência de Charles Darwin foi e ainda continua sendo uma maldição para a humanidade, comemorando aí os 200 anos do seu nascimento e os 150 anos do lançamento da teoria não-científica e equivocada dele. Portanto, desafio você para que se apóie num relatório que tem muito mais bases, porque sabe de onde viemos e para onde vamos. Refiro-me à Bíblia, é claro!
A Palavra de Deus existe para nos dar esperança, o rumo, e nos colocar no caminho do destino certo. E para nos situar bem nesse contexto de mundo, ela conta como tudo começou. A leitura de hoje é muito boa para isso. Começa com a descendência de Adão. Você pode acompanhar aí e ir conhecendo todo mundo que participou dessa história, seus nomes, quem foi quem e como tudo aconteceu no decorrer da História. A partir daí, emende essa leitura de hoje com as genealogias que tem nos evangelhos e Hebreus 11-12 e você verá que também faz parte dessa história.
Você não está perdido no espaço. Hoje, se atualize, pegue sua Bíblia e a leia. Mesmo que você já tiver parado com sua leitura bíblica várias vezes, dê continuidade a ela e não deixe que sua letargia e preguiça de ler a Bíblia se torne uma doença crônica. Crônicas pode ser um livro a desafiá-lo a algo a mais, porque exige aplicação de leitura, pesquisa, atenção para com os detalhes e, acima de tudo, disciplina e determinação, porque é uma leitura bem diferente. Mas incentivo você a dar origem a um novo hábito de ser um leitor assíduo do Livro Sagrado.
E falando em origens, não esqueça de que, desde o princípio, alguém fora do Universo estava pensando em nós. Você não é fruto do acaso, é a realização do sonho do grande Criador. E se você se encontra detonado pelo pecado, Ele tem o plano da redenção. Por esse plano, já lhe redimiu pelo sangue de Jesus no Calvário e quer levar-lhe um dia para o Céu.
Quero concluir recomendando a você que leia os três primeiros capítulos com papel e caneta na mão, anotando todas as curiosidades que você conseguir garimpar no meio desse monte de nomes. Acesse, também, o site www.scb.org.br para entender um pouco mais sobre o começo da vida.
