|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

|Lamentações 2:2|
Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

|Lamentações 2:5|
The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

|Lamentações 2:9|
Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

OÁSIS NO DESERTO
2Crônicas 14-16
Se você está cansado de ler a respeito de coisas erradas cometidas por alguns reis mencionados na Bíblia, convido-lhe a dar um suspiro de alívio. Apesar da infidelidade de Salomão, Roboão e Abias, Deus, por amor a Davi, lhe deu um “oásis no deserto”, fazendo com que Asa se tornasse rei de Judá. Através do seu governo, a estabilidade de Jerusalém foi recuperada por dez anos. “Asa fez o que o Senhor, o seu Deus, aprova” (2Crônicas 14:2).
A despeito da idolatria da época, Asa permaneceu fiel ao Senhor e decidiu fazer uma faxina no território que estava sob o seu controle: retirou os altares dos deuses estrangeiros; despedaçou as colunas sagradas e derrubou os postes sagrados. A cultura da adoração a outros deuses e ídolos era impressionante devido às práticas feitas no culto de adoração. Alguns chegavam até a sacrificar os filhos. O povo de Deus seguia as outras nações. Asa foi corajoso ao tentar levar o povo a adorar ao Deus vivo e a tê-Lo em primeiro lugar na vida deles.
Hoje, podemos nos tranquilizar por não participarmos de tais práticas, mas permita-me fazer uma pergunta a você: o que tem priorizado na sua vida? Que lugar Deus ocupa na sua lista de prioridades?
Li a história de uma mulher que sonhava em ter um carro zero quilômetro na garagem. Ela trabalhou muito por isso, até que, finalmente, estava com seu sonho dentro de casa. Que emoção! Ela cuidava do carro mais que tudo na vida. Embora já não fosse tão novo, estava sempre impecável.
Certa manhã, porém, aconteceu um acidente e sua casa pegou fogo. O desespero tomou conta dela ao perceber que seu carrão estava começando a pegar fogo e saiu correndo na busca de tirá-lo da garagem a tempo. Graças a Deus, os bombeiros já estavam no local e seguraram aquela mulher para que não viesse a perder a vida em meio às chamas. Ela chorou copiosamente porque seu carro foi destruído.
Fiquei refletindo sobre minha vida e aquilo que tenho buscado como prioridades. É fácil dizer que amamos a Deus, ir ao culto uma vez ou mais por semana, dizer que somos cristãos, mas... Como é difícil colocarmos Deus como nossa “primeira” prioridade, de verdade. Para mim, a caminhada cristã tem seus desafios e sei que para você também não é brincadeira. Precisamos investir “pesado” na nossa devoção pessoal, estudo da Bíblia e ter o foco em Jesus 24 horas por dia.
Corremos o risco de deixar de lado Aquele que merece nossa verdadeira adoração. Reflita sobre isso neste dia e não deixe de priorizar aquilo que é verdadeiramente importante.
