|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

|Lamentações 2:2|
Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

|Lamentações 2:5|
The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

Ezequiel 42-44
Uns têm medo, outros têm vergonha, servir ao Senhor. Falta-lhes coragem até para distribuir folhetos, dizer “Jesus te ama” a alguém, dar testemunho pessoal ou convidar outra pessoa para ir à igreja. Não fazem nada, e, mesmo assim, ainda têm a desculpa esfarrapada de dizer que o melhor serviço que prestamos a Deus é o testemunho silencioso de uma vida pessoal devota. Santa ignorância!
Mas eu também, no passado, já tive uma época na minha vida em que sofri dessa síndrome de covardia. As razões que nos levam a isso são muitas, mas aqui vamos bater forte em apenas uma destas teclas, ao comentarmos os capítulos de hoje.
Ezequiel 42 apresenta uma preocupação bem fina quanto a todos os detalhes pertinentes aos quartos dos sacerdotes, que ficariam no Templo. Aqui, os aposentos dos sacerdotes na casa do Senhor, podem nos fazer lembrar: a ocasião em que Jesus disse que na casa do Pai há muitas moradas que estão sendo preparadas para nós estarmos com Ele para sempre; ou o Salmo 23, onde Davi expressa seu desejo de querer habitar – morar - na “casa do Senhor para todo o sempre”. Tentativas humanas de aproximação com o divino.
E Deus fica super feliz! Sabe quando um namorado que está distante telefona para a noiva avisando que vai chegar de viagem? Ela suspira fundo e, de peito estufado, tem a impressão de que foi a casa toda que encheu-se de um novo clima que está no ar. Quando o apaixonado Deus vê que o motivo de Sua paixão, o ser humano, quer aproximar-se, Ele se manifesta; a glória do Senhor retorna e enche o Templo. Naquela época, o templo físico. Hoje, o seu ser, que é o templo do Espírito Santo. É aí que acontece a adoração. E é por isso que quando o Senhor se manifesta assim, a presença do altar é tão importante. Porque é diante do trono, ao pé do altar, que fazemos as descobertas mais nobres.
Em Ezequiel 44, Deus é a voz ativa que fala sobre o príncipe, os levitas e os sacerdotes. O príncipe era o representante mais direto do governo de Deus, que trabalhava diretamente para Ele, servindo o Seu povo. Os levitas eram os obreiros da causa de Deus que punham a mão ma massa, no avanço da obra do Senhor. E os sacerdotes dedicavam a vida toda à orientação e à liderança de todo esse contexto religioso. E o Senhor faz questão de conversar bem de perto, com eles, sobre estes trabalhos deles, dando-lhes todo o suporte necessário.
Se Deus tem tanto interesse em nos acompanhar na obra, por que iremos temer?
