|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

|Lamentações 2:2|
Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

|Lamentações 2:5|
The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

|Lamentações 2:6|
He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

|Lamentações 2:9|
Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

|Lamentações 2:10|
The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

A VIDA COMO ELA É
1Reis 17-19
Recebi uma ligação telefônica de uma filha de Deus, que durou uma hora e vinte minutos. Depois que enxugou as lágrimas, ela me disse que sua angústia era porque estava voltando para Jesus. Fiquei encabulado, porque, que eu saiba, voltar para Jesus é algo bom. Longe de Jesus há oito anos, durante esse tempo, sempre pensava que quando quisesse voltar para a igreja seria fácil. Mas, agora, o problema é que ela havia descoberto que a volta é muito mais dolorosa.
Essa moça tinha muitas dores no coração. Uma delas, a dúvida. Enquanto ela estava fiel à fé na qual tinha crescido e sido educada, possuía um coração puro. Depois de conhecer da “árvore do conhecimento do bem e do mal”, não tinha mais aquela pureza e clareza de mente que lhe ajudaria a saber o que é certo. Como conheceu tanta coisa no mundo lá fora, tinha uma angústia muito grande por ter muitas dúvidas.
Comecei a tirar-lhe as dúvidas, e a conversa foi ficando longa. Percebi que ela demoraria alguns meses para resolvê-las, então, ao invés de ficar respondendo perguntas, recomendei alguns livros para ler, cursos para assistir e disciplinas pessoais que deveria adquirir, para, ao longo do tempo, resolver-se neste assunto de religião. No fim da conversa, disse: “Minha amiga, lembre-se: mesmo depois que você resolver-se neste assunto da fé, que é uma área importante da sua vida, ainda terá duas coisas: a primeira é que você ainda terá perguntas não respondidas. Todo cristão tem. Eu também tenho! A segunda é que sua vida não será um mar de rosas. Céu, só no Céu. Entendeu?” Ela agradeceu e depois que oramos juntos, desligou o telefone, não com todos os seus problemas resolvidos, mas com a paz de Jesus no coração.
A leitura de hoje mostra a vida como ela é. Veja a experiência de Elias em 1Reis 17-19. Nela, esse servo do Senhor expressa exatamente o que é ser um cristão e não o que se mascara falsamente. A falsa teologia, chamada de teologia da prosperidade, prega um “cristianismo-mentira”, onde tudo daria certo na vida da pessoa. Deus o sustenta, mas também o prova. Como filho de Deus, ele prega. Deus o desafia. O ministério dele tem sucesso, mas também é perseguido. Parece que Deus desaparece, e então Elias fica com medo. Depois de um tempo de silêncio, Ele reaparece a Elias, e a vida continua. Finalmente, Elias deixa outro para ser seu suceder.
A vida de um cristão não é exatamente assim na vida real? E qual é a vantagem? Elias está no Céu. Lá sim, é o verdadeiro céu.
