|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

|Lamentações 2:2|
Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

|Lamentações 2:5|
The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

|Lamentações 2:6|
He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

|Lamentações 2:7|
The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

|Lamentações 2:9|
Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

|Lamentações 2:10|
The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

Provérbios 04-07
E de capítulo em capítulo, vamos avançando, passo a passo, dia-a-dia, em direção ao final da Bíblia, na mesma medida que vamos avançando para o final do ano. Está certo que o final do ano não esteja tão perto assim, mas já estamos passando da metade dele. Já se foram 192 dias e faltam 163 para o ano acabar. Já fizemos a leitura de 19 livros da Bíblia, e estamos agora lendo o vigésimo, o livro de Provérbios.
Provérbios tem muita coisa boa a nos ensinar. E como é impossível uma pessoa aprender aquilo que ela acha que já sabe, pelo fato de que quem ensina a si mesmo tem um tolo como professor, então, vamos aprender com o sábio Salomão, lendo a Bíblia. Quando fizer sua leitura de hoje, irá aprender muito. Esse será seu maior aprendizado. Além dele, quero dar um toque sobre alguns pontos de cada um desses quatro capítulos.
Com Provérbios 4, podemos aprender que a revelação das Escrituras é progressiva. O verso 18 diz que a vereda do justo é como a luz da alvorada, que brilha cada vez mais até a plena claridade do dia. Ou seja, aquilo que o ser humano sabe hoje sobre Deus, provavelmente não é o que ele saberá amanhã. Amanhã saberemos o que já sabemos hoje, e um pouco mais. Nosso conhecimento sobre Deus deve estar sempre de mente aberta ao novo, ao aprendizado.
No capítulo cinco, há uma advertência contra o adultério, que é um emaranhado de enganos que levam o ser humano à morte. Como dizia Carlos Drummond de Andrade , "No adultério há pelo menos três pessoas que se enganam." E o engano leva à morte. Então, se você quer se livrar da morte, leia esse capítulo.
Em Provérbios 6, vemos as advertências contra a insensatez (versos 6-13). Encontramos uma grande lição sobre a conduta cristã, que poderíamos parafrasear num ato de proverbiar mais contemporâneo dizendo simplesmente que se mexer faz bem.
E no capítulo 7, percebemos o quanto o assunto da pureza sexual, versus a lascívia, o adultério e a luxúria é um assunto sério. Se há quase três mil anos, esse era um assunto com o qual precisava haver tanto cuidado, imagine hoje, no nosso mundo moderno, onde as tentações são tantas, tão assustadoramente escachadas. É realmente um perigo de morte. Ainda bem que os ensinos bíblicos nos ensinam a proceder diferente.
Mas estou feliz com você, porque fez a escolha certa, ao ler um comentário que fale sobre Deus. É de escolhas assim que o seu destino feliz será construído. Então, escolha também fazer sua leitura bíblica de hoje.
