|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

|Lamentações 2:2|
Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

Jeremias 39-41
Pense em um camarada que sofreu sentimentalmente. Pensou? Agora, pense em uma pessoa que tenha passado por grandes sofrimentos físicos. Pensou? Além disso, pense em um grande sofrimento mental. Conseguiu imaginar, numa opressão mental? Esses foram alguns dos sofrimento de Jeremias. E todos estes sofrimentos – físico, emocional, mental – terminam afetando, também, a vida espiritual. Não que a pessoa, fatalmente, vá se apostatar. Mas a fé sofre bombardeadas. Uma área afeta a outra, pois, na visão holística bíblica (que não é dicotômica nem tricotômica), somos um todo indivisível. E Jeremias, holisticamente, sofreu. Ele teve o destino de passar pelas circunstâncias mais terríveis.
Está sofrendo muito e quiser sentir um alívio? Olhe uma vitrine onde está exposto um grande sofredor, Jeremias, e você vai ver um sofrimento tão maior que o seu, que vai até ficar aliviado. Não que precisemos que alguém sofra mais do que nós para que encontremos alívio. Não é isso. Mas, quando olhamos para pessoas assim, vemos poderíamos estar sofrendo muito mais. Então, graças a Deus por não estarmos com maiores consternações.
Sofrimento emocional. Quem já não teve os sentimentos abalados, não é verdade? Se você está sentindo-se assim, além de recomendar que você, indispensavelmente, faça a leitura bíblica de hoje, recomendo também uma leitura adicional indispensável. Leia “A Cura Para os Traumas Emocionais”, de David Seamands, Editora Betânia. E, acima de tudo, entregue o seu coração a Deus.
Sofrimento físico. Dor, doença, deficiência, limitação... Já passou por isso? Está passando por isso? Mais de 80% das doenças são psicossomáticas. Não é popularizar, dizendo que a doença esteja só na cabeça. Não é isso. É que o poder da mente tem uma influencia muito grande na patologia, porque, afinal de contas, quem manda e desmanda em todo o corpo é o cérebro. Então, que tal, em vez de deixar seu cérebro concentrado demais só no sofrimento da sua doença, abrandar-lhe, distraindo-o com uma boa leitura. Uma boa pedida é a leitura bíblica de hoje: Jeremias 39-41. Mas também não deixe de ler a revista “Vida e Saúde”, da Casa Publicadora Brasileira.
Sofrimento mental. Perturbação, depressão, estresse, toque, síndrome do pânico, tristeza, e coisas semelhantes... Você já experimentou? É? Então, vai aqui também a recomendação de um outro livro: “Mente Caráter e Personalidade”, também, da Casa Publicadora Brasileira. E, além disso, evite colocar as bobagens desta vida na sua mente. Mantenha a sua mente ocupada, preenchida, com coisas boas, sadias, construtivas. Combinado?
Não há dúvida, de que se você seguir todas essas dicas, vai ter uma boa saúde espiritual, além de conseguir evitar muitos outros tipos de sofrimentos. Pense em alguém que não precisa sofrer: você.
