“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

|Lamentações 2:2|
Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

Deuteronômio (Especial)
Hoje, 29 de fevereiro, é um dia especial. Afinal de contas, não é todo ano que tem 29 de fevereiro, certo? Então, minha proposta é para que você faça uma leitura bíblica especial, dando uma revisada no que você já estudou até aqui, no livro de Deuteronômio, já que a leitura de ontem continua amanhã.
Estou sugerindo isso porque o livro de Deuteronômio é muito especial. Tanto é, que quando Philip Yancey - o maior autor evangélico que atualmente está escrevendo, na minha opinião -, foi escrever um livro sobre o Antigo Testamento, intitulado A Bíblia que Jesus Lia, ele escolheu quatro livros dos 39 para comentar esses livros que representariam os outros do Antigo Testamento. Um dos quatro livros que Philip escolheu foi Deuteronômio. Isso mesmo! Deuteronômio.
Dentre outras coisas, esse é um livro de ensinos. Nele, vemos Moisés fazendo aquele discurso agridoce para o povo, a prática intensiva da sistemática de ensino-aprendizagem. Percebemos o grande líder aplicando vários métodos de ensino e, também, ensinando ao povo várias dicas de didática.
Pensando nesse livro especial, com o que ele tem de especial, que é um verdadeiro sistema educacional, lembrei, também, de uma matéria especial que saiu na revista Veja.
No dia 12 de setembro de 2007, saiu uma matéria de três páginas, falando sobre os colégios adventistas e o bom ensino que eles oferecem. No lead da matéria, diz assim: “As escolas adventistas aparecem entre as melhores do país”. Isso aqui não é propaganda. É uma matéria jornalística da revista Veja, que chama essa rede de escolas de fenômeno, com alta capacidade de ensino, satisfazendo as exigências do MEC, tratando bem seus clientes, colocando os seus alunos nas universidades e crescendo 37%, ultrapassando os 130.000 alunos, só no Brasil. É uma educação especial? Um sistema educacional especial? É. Mas, aqui, cabe uma pergunta básica: a que se deve esse sucesso da rede educacional adventista? A resposta está no próprio título dessa matéria: “Graças a Deus – E não a Darwin”, que, ironicamente, foi atribuído por essa rede de escolas ser criacionista.
Mas, é realmente, graças a Deus e não a Darwin ou qualquer outra teoria meramente humana, que o que é bom pode ser ensinado com sucesso. E se você observar a pedagogia de Moisés, no livro de Deuteronômio e comparar com a filosofia dessa atual rede cristã de escolas adventistas do século XXI, encontrará esse segredo especial, que torna o ensino e o aprendizado, especiais. O Senhor é o Mestre dos mestres, e o livro mais importante dessa rede de escolas é a Palavra dEle.
