|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

|Lamentações 2:2|
Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

|Lamentações 2:4|
Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

|Lamentações 2:5|
The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

|Lamentações 2:6|
He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

|Lamentações 2:7|
The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

|Lamentações 2:8|
The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

|Lamentações 2:9|
Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

|Lamentações 2:10|
The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

O NOSSO DEUS É INTERNACIONALMENTE SOBERANO
Isaías 15-19
Hoje, quero dar uma injeção de ânimo em você para que fique mais ativo ainda no programa “Por Dentro da Bíblia”. E sabe como se faz isso? Lendo, diariamente, os capítulos bíblicos escolhidos. É um plano que temos de ler a Bíblia toda em um ano, apenas alguns capítulos a cada dia. Fácil, não é mesmo?
Nem sempre! Durante esses dias, por exemplo, estamos lendo uma sequência de capítulos do livro de Isaías, que desanima muito. Tem que ter raça para continuar lendo. Sei que você tem essa garra, mas quero lhe dar uma dica. Estamos lendo uma série de profecias que o Senhor fez naquela época, no tempo de Isaías, contra várias nações diferentes. E o que isso tem a ver conosco? Hum! Esse é o desafio que quero lhe dar. Não desanime de ler! Está desafiante ter perseverança para continuar lendo? Então, nessas horas, é aí que você pega e lê cavando bem a fundo, em todos os detalhes, para ver que lições espirituais você pode encontrar para sua vida.
Os capítulos para hoje são 15-19, mas essa seção de profecias contra as nações estrangeiras vão do capítulo 13-23. São oráculos contra nações estrangeiras, pronunciados em diferentes ocasiões, em aproximadamente 634 a.C. a, no máximo, 700 a.C.
Dentre as várias lições espirituais que essas profecias sugerem, podemos mencionar as seguintes:
1. Deus é um Deus Universal. Ninguém escapa da Sua visão panorâmica. Assim como julga a todos, então pode amar a todos também;
2. Deus tem interesse em todas as nações, em todas as pessoas. Ele não as quer só para puni-las, mas também para salvar;
3. Aprendendo, juntamente com o item 2, todo o mundo, não escapando ninguém, deve uma resposta ao Juiz, que é o Senhor de toda a Terra;
4. Um dia, as nações reconhecerão que o Deus de Israel é o Deus soberano e deve ser o Salvador. Para poder cumprir o plano de Deus de que um dia Ele quer oferecer para todas as nações, os mesmos privilégios espirituais que Ele dá ao Seu povo, vemos isso em Isaías 18:22.
Mas veja bem. No capítulo 17, versos 12 e 13, você aprende que as nações, em seu desassossego, são como o mar agitado por uma tempestade. Porém, voltando para Isaías 14:32, você vê que no meio da tempestade tem um farol, que é Sião. E no capítulo 19, versos 24 e 25, vem a esperança de que, depois da tempestade, num futuro trazido por Deus, surgirá um continente de nações remidas pela graça divina. Amém!
