|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

|Lamentações 2:2|
Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

Jeremias 10-13
Qual era o grupo racial étnico de Michael Jackson? Negro? “Sim”, “talvez”, ou “não”... a resposta depende da perspectiva. Mas ele mudou de raça? Não! De raça não se muda. A pele dele, e não ele, mudou, mas não de raça, e sim de cor. Não foi porque ele quis, nem por algum tipo de racismo de sua parte. Ele sofreu de uma doença chamada vitiligo, que é um tipo de doença não contagiosa em que ocorre a perda da pigmentação natural da pele. Michael Jackson começou então a ter manchas na pele que antes era escura, mas agora sem pigmentação, começou a ficar, em várias partes do corpo, mais clara. O todo-poderoso da música pop ficou sem opções. Ele não tinha domínio sobre o próprio corpo, por mais dinheiro que tivesse. E a única opção que lhe restou foi terminar “despigmentando” a pele inteira, ficando todo mais claro. O que eram manchas virou uma mancha só, no corpo inteiro, e logo passou a não mais ser visto como mancha.
Isso ilustra um tipo de perigo. Quando o pecado começa aqui e ali, temos o costume de repugná-lo. Mas quando ele passa a estar por todas as partes, podemos ter o repugnante comportamento de nos acostumarmos com ele. Caso sério! O que, a princípio, era errado, passa a ser visto como certo. Uma mentira que é repetida muitas vezes passa a ser “verdade”.
O coitado do Jackson não teria a opção de reverter a mudança de cor que lhe ocorreu. “Será que o etíope pode mudar a sua pele? Ou o leopardo as suas pintas? Assim também vocês são incapazes de fazer o bem, vocês, que estão acostumados a fazer o mal” (Jeremias 13:23). E realmente, a vida desse astro, infelizmente, foi apenas uma mancha existencial. Vida vazia, inútil para a eternidade do plano bíblico divino. Ele poderia ter usado seus talentos para glorificar a Jesus, mas preferiu viver sem Deus. Morreu de parada cardíaca em 25/06/2009, aos 50, em Los Angeles... e pronto. E daí? De que valeu toda a fama sem Deus? E quanto ao Céu?
Não há dúvidas de que ele foi idolatrado, e esse foi um dos grandes problemas. É um problema-alerta para que todos nós (Jeremias 10) nos lembremos de que assim como no passado, hoje ainda existe a idolatria. De que adianta idolatrar ou ser idolatrado, se “não está nas mãos do homem o seu futuro; não compete ao homem dirigir os seus passos?”
É por isso que, por nós mesmos, não conseguimos abandonar o pecado. Para livrar-se disso, precisamos nos entregar a Jesus e deixar que ele opere a cura.
