|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

|Lamentações 2:2|
Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

|Lamentações 2:5|
The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

|Lamentações 2:7|
The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

|Lamentações 2:9|
Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

POR CAUSA DO PODER OU POR CAUSA DO AMOR?
Deuteronômio 04-07
Certa vez, um menino estava sentado perto de uma porteira, que dava acesso a uma propriedade. Ele estava ali fazendo o papel de porteiro quando, de repente, diante dele estava, nada mais, nada menos que o poderoso imperador Napoleão Bonaparte, juntamente com todos os seus homens. E quando o grande e seus homens se aproximaram, querendo passar por aquela propriedade, tiveram um problema. O garoto, ousado, simplesmente teve a audácia de impedir o imperador.
- Não senhor! Por aqui o senhor não passa porque não pode! – o garoto disse.
Depois de argumentar um pouco, Napoleão já estava bravo. Zangado, ele gritou com o menino:
- Oh, rapaz, eu sou Napoleão Bonaparte, o imperador. Abra já este portão!
E agora? Muito educado, o menino tirou o chapéu e perguntou ao poderoso:
- Grande imperador, meu pai me deu uma ordem: não deixe ninguém passar. Aprendi que devo obedecer ao meu pai. Agora, me diga uma coisa, o senhor vai querer que eu desobedeça meu pai? Este portão está fechado por isso. É por isso que aqui ninguém passa, conforme meu pai determinou!
É... Parece que o garoto não tinha noção de que seu pai era só mais um, um simples camponês.
Então, Napoleão, como imperador, virou-se para seus generais e disse bem alto:
- Deem-me mil homens como este menino e conquistarei o mundo todo.
E daí ele deu meia volta e se foi por outro caminho.
Existem pessoas que acham tão difícil obedecer! Mas você sabe o que fazia com que aquele menino fosse tão obediente? O relacionamento com seu pai. Bem ali naquela porteira, no limite da estrada, pôde ser visto que o amor falou mais alto que o poder.
Agora, na encruzilhada da nossa leitura bíblica, nos encontramos com outro poderoso. Mas Ele não é só poderoso. Ele também é o pai do relacionamento próximo. E a discussão permanece: obediência. A grande questão é: obediência por causa do poder ou por causa do amor?
No começo da leitura, primeiro nosso Pai chega e conversa conosco sobre a importância da obediência, como ser obediente, o que obedecer... É um bate-papo legal! Mas também faz algumas proibições: “Olha, por essa porteira, não se pode passar.” Do verso 32 em diante, Ele deixa claro que é porque é Deus. É poderoso!
Se alguém tem dúvida, no capítulo cinco, as explicações estão bem detalhadas. Elas valem para hoje ainda. Mas no capítulo seis está a razão da obediência: o amor. É por amor que guardamos os mandamentos. E sabe qual é o fim da história? Leia o capítulo sete e você descobrirá.
