|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

Até quando uma pessoa pode seguir fazendo alguma coisa errada sem ser punida? Depende, né? Essa é a resposta. Infelizmente.
Um dia desses, eu estava ouvindo o depoimento de um excriminoso traficante, ladrão, bandido, assassino, que testemunhava da sua transformação de vida. Ele ficou por 20 anos no mundo do crime. Atualmente, já tem 14 anos que ele tem uma vida transformada, respeitada, tem faculdade e é um grande profissional numa das maiores instituições de saúde do nosso país. Mas ele foi uma exceção raríssima: uma em um milhão. Coisa difícil de acontecer. Se você que está lendo este comentário estiver pensando em fazer besteira, imaginando que talvez tenha a mesma sorte que a pessoa citada, digo-lhe: não entre nessa porque é uma fria!
Não se iluda pensando que você será o felizardo 0,01%. Mas o que chamou minha atenção na palestra desse excriminoso é que quando ele estava falando da sua sorte, disse que a média de vida de um marginal como ele era de 28 anos.
Já pensou? Enquanto temos uma expectativa de vida de uns 70 anos, um jovem que está no extremo dos atos errados tem a expectativa de que não chegará nem aos 30 anos de idade. Que coisa, hein?
Diante disso, a pergunta que fiz no início do comentário é relativa. A resposta dela pode ser “depende”, mas nem tanto. A resposta mais óbvia é a de que ela não vai muito longe. O Senhor, a vida, as pessoas, a sociedade e as consequências dos atos não deixam isso se prolongar nesse estado por muito tempo.
Dê uma olhada na leitura de hoje. Há várias pessoas, que nas leituras dos dias anteriores, vinham só reinando na desgraça dos outros e se aproveitando porque estavam no poder de fazer o que bem queriam. Seguiam fazendo uma porção de ações erradas, seguindo os próprios desejos do coração, da carne, do egoísmo e de tudo que é coisa que não presta. Penso que quem vivesse naqueles dias ficaria imaginando o quanto a vida é injusta. Enquanto um cidadão normal, que faz tudo certinho sofre, os poderosos permanecem no erro e só se dão bem? Mas o quadro muda. Jorão e Acazias morrem, os dois reis do povo de Deus, corruptos, no mesmo dia... Também, eram da mesma laia, né? Jezabel, a família de Acabe, os ministros de Baal e até Atalia também morrem.
Parece um filme de Mel Gibson, com sangue espirrando da tela. Mas não é. Esse é o simples reflexo que responde à pergunta inicial. Cedo ou tarde, cada uma das nossas ações erradas e maldosas terá suas consequências. Reflita sobre suas ações!
