|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.

Você já ouviu falar a frase “A violência é o último refúgio dos incompetentes”? Trata-se de um provérbio muito antigo e óbvio, mas é uma verdade muito relevante. Aliás, muitas vezes só sabemos avaliar os clichês e jargões fazendo críticas negativas sobre eles. Mas, no fundo, gosto dos clichês. Apesar de que pareça um vício de linguagem, na realidade, a pobreza não está em ficar repetindo esses provérbios, mas na perda da sensibilidade em perceber a riqueza dessas pérolas de pensamento. E aí vem o perigo da leitura de hoje: perda da sensibilidade. Por nos acostumarmos demais com o que é bom, chegamos ao ponto de perder o respeito.
Com isso, refiro-me ao relaxo que aconteceu na casa de Davi, pelo fato de que ele e outros membros da família passaram a ver a família, que é uma instituição tão sagrada, de qualquer jeito. E o relaxo no respeito pode fazer com que a sensibilidade vá embora. Sem sensibilidade, as pessoas podem agir com violência. E violência gera violência e tudo vira uma violação sem fim. Já percebeu?
O perigo de tanta violência faz com que corramos o risco de perder a sensibilidade até para com a própria violência. Imagine chegar ao ponto de um dia dizer: “Vivo numa vizinhança calma. Eles usam silenciadores...”
Infelizmente, vivemos numa sociedade que caminha para esse rumo. Este mundo está se tornando tão perigoso que podemos nos sentir felizes por continuarmos vivos! Esse é o suspiro! E isso é muito perigoso. O perigo da insensibilidade para com a própria violência gerada é mais perigoso que o perigo da insensibilidade que gerou a violência. Se quiser ver o perigo que isso pode gerar antecipadamente, faça a leitura de hoje. Esses capítulos mostram violência gerando violência, mas, felizmente, vemos exemplos através dos quais podemos aprender deles para não cairmos nos mesmos erros.
Ao concluir a leitura bíblica, imagino que você estará mais sensível ao temor da violência que gera violência. Como disse Mahatma Gandhi: “Olho por olho e todos nós acabaremos cegos.” Redundando, é justamente por que a violência gera violência, que ela não compensa.
Agora, mais bonito que tudo isso é quando alguém consegue, lá de dentro do mar de violências, dar um suspiro de graça. E isso pode acontecer. Contra tudo e todos dessa sociedade selvagem, ainda aparecer alguém que saiba agir com misericórdia. Veja a atitude de Davi. Sua capacidade de conceder graça era incrível. Esse é um grande desafio!
Enquanto o mundo está se agitando no estresse do mar de notícias ruins, “seja do contra”, gastando o seu tempo lendo o livro que pode lhe dar a paz, a Bíblia.
