“People have heard my groaning, but there is no-one to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my distress; they rejoice at what you have done. May you bring the day you have announced so that they may become like me.

|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

|Lamentações 2:3|
In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

|Lamentações 2:6|
He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

NA PRESENÇA DE DEUS

E aí, tudo bem com você? Tem feito sua leitura bíblica diária? Tem se colocado na presença de Deus? Pergunto se você tem se colocado na presença de Deus por três motivos:
1. Acabei de acessar o site www.elef.org.br – “ELEF: Encontro de Louvor em Família”. É um projeto de louvor e adoração que é uma bênção. Que ministério! Que unção! Fiquei encantado! E sabe qual é o tema desse evento de louvor e adoração? “Na presença de Deus”. Então, esse é um dos motivos porque lhe fiz a pergunta acima.
2. No comentário de ontem, fizemos uma oração de dedicação da nossa vida a Deus. Você o leu? Se sim, deve ter feito a oração “comigo” e dedicou sua vida ao Senhor. Mas, se não participou dessa oração, ainda tem a oportunidade de dedicar-se a Ele. É só dizer isso em oração, ok?
3. Estamos no programa de ler um livro da Bíblia que trata de alguém que realmente se colocava na presença de Deus: Samuel. E a própria palavra Samuel, na sua forma etimológica, nos faz pensar na presença de Deus, porque ela significa “ouvido por Deus” ou “Deus ouve”. Transmite a ideia de diálogo com Deus, na presença dEle. Samuel era mesmo desse jeito. Aliás, ele viveu em um contexto onde existia a preocupação da certeza da presença de Deus ou não.
Ao fazermos a leitura indicada para hoje, vemos que essa era uma discussão corrente naquela época. Naqueles dias, a presença de Deus era representada pela presença da arca. É claro que cada pessoa deveria amar a Deus de todo o seu coração, como já estava ensinado em Deuteronômio 6. No entanto, o sinal de que a presença de Deus estava atuando de maneira mais efetiva, poderosa, manifestante e coletiva entre eles era determinado pela presença da arca. Onde ela estivesse, ali a mão de Deus estaria atuando de maneira impactante e poderosa.
Podemos ver como isso acontece, logo no início da leitura, quando os filisteus vêm e tomam a arca. É até engraçado, porque a mesma presença da arca trazia bênção para alguns, para outros, era uma maldição. Por quê? Já pensou nisso?
Isso é muito sério! Mas muito mais sério que estar na presença de Deus é a disposição do coração, ao estar em Sua presença. Amanhã, comentarei um pouco mais sobre essa questão do coração. Mas, quando fizer sua leitura de hoje, gostaria que você já pensasse em como está a disposição do seu coração para, realmente, estar, de fato e de verdade, na legítima presença de Deus.
