“People have heard my groaning, but there is no-one to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my distress; they rejoice at what you have done. May you bring the day you have announced so that they may become like me.

|Lamentações 2:1|
“Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint.” [This chapter is an acrostic poem, the verses of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.] How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! [Or How the LORD in his anger has treated the Daughter of Zion with contempt!] He has hurled down the splendour of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonour.

In fierce anger he has cut off every horn [Or all the strength; or every king; horn here symbolises strength.] of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.

Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.

The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.

|Lamentações 2:6|
He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.

The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.

Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

Você já percebeu que existem coisas que não temos medo que aconteçam conosco por pensarmos que são coisas que só acontecerão em um futuro distante e não agora? Um exemplo: quando a Bíblia fala do fim do mundo, um pouco antes da volta de Jesus, relata o surgimento de uma apostasia e de um anticristo que vão enganar, se possível, até os escolhidos. Muitas vezes as pessoas ficam tranquilas, pensando que não correm esse perigo, pois isso é só para quando o mundo acabar e não agora. Está tudo tão normal, né?
Sabe, o perigo não é só o fato de que a volta de Jesus aconteça para essa pessoa antes que ela espere. O maior perigo é a insensibilidade, que pode trazer a morte para uma pessoa enquanto ela ainda está respirando. Na leitura de hoje, mostra um profeta mentindo. Alguém visto como homem de Deus, idoso, respeitado. O curioso é que não enganou qualquer pessoa mal instruída. Ele enganou o mensageiro oficial de Deus no reino. Imagine! Alguém que fala em nome de Deus, mas não é de Deus e engana, se possível, até os escolhidos. Só no fim dos tempos?
Essa história aconteceu há quase três mil anos. E a Bíblia ensina que isso acontecerá novamente agora, nos últimos dias da história da Terra. Tome cuidado! Se até um homem mensageiro oficial de Deus foi enganado, que segurança podemos ter se confiarmos em nós mesmos? Como escreveu São Mateus, nem todo aquele que diz Senhor, Senhor, entrará no reino dos Céus, mas somente aquele que faz a vontade de Deus. E que vontade é essa? Isaías responde, quando fala sobre os profetas: “Têm que estar de acordo com a lei e o testemunho”, que são a verdadeira característica do povo verdadeiro de Deus: guardam os mandamentos de Deus e o testemunho de Jesus. Então, se alguém aparecer por aí dizendo que tem uma revelação, um sonho, uma profecia, um recado de Deus, avalie bem a mensagem e a pessoa. Essa pessoa guarda os mandamentos de Deus? Dá um verdadeiro testemunho de Jesus? Acredita no Espírito de Profecia segundo a Bíblia? Se não, lembre-se de que maldito é o homem que confia no homem.
Às vezes, as pessoas ficam perguntando por que os reinados de Israel, com Davi e Salomão foram tão bons e como pôde haver um contraste tão grande em tão pouco tempo com tantas coisas ruins, com praticamente todos os reis sucessores. Veja como tudo começa. Dê uma olhada em 1Reis 13-14, é só mentira e enganos! Quem diz que a mentira não leva a nada está mentido. A mentira leva à morte.
