And the priests dwell, and the Levites, and of the people, and the singers, and the gatekeepers, and the Nethinim, in their cities; even all Israel in their cities.

And the seventh month cometh, and the sons of Israel [are] in the cities, and the people are gathered, as one men, unto Jerusalem.

|Esdras 3:2|
And rise doth Jeshua son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and they build the altar of the God of Israel, to cause to ascend upon it burnt-offerings, as it is written in the law of Moses, the man of God.

And they establish the altar on its bases, because of the fear upon them of the peoples of the lands, and he causeth burnt-offerings to ascend upon it to Jehovah, burnt-offerings for the morning and for the evening.

And they make the feast of the booths as it is written, and the burnt-offering of the day daily in number according to the ordinance, the matter of a day in its day;

and after this a continual burnt-offering, and for new moons, and for all appointed seasons of Jehovah that are sanctified; and for every one who is willingly offering a willing-offering to Jehovah.

From the first day of the seventh month they have begun to cause burnt-offerings to ascend to Jehovah, and the temple of Jehovah hath not been founded,

and they give money to hewers and to artificers, and food, and drink, and oil to Zidonians and to Tyrians, to bring in cedar-trees from Lebanon unto the sea of Joppa, according to the permission of Cyrus king of Persia concerning them.

And in the second year of their coming in unto the house of God, to Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all those coming from the captivity to Jerusalem, and they appoint the Levites from a son of twenty years and upward, to overlook the work of the house of Jehovah.

Filipenses
Filipos. Na internet, você pode ver as fotos das ruínas da antiga cidade de Filipos. Era uma cidade importante no Império Romano por causa de sua localização geográfica na região montanhosa entre a Ásia e Europa. O nome vem de Filipe II, rei da Macedônia, fundada por ele em 356 a.C. Antes, existia nesse lugar um vilarejo traciano conhecido pelo nome grego Krenides ("fontes"), que em 361 a.C. foi tomado por colonos da ilha de Tasos, comandados por um exilado ateniense chamado Calistrato.
O maior atrativo desse lugar era o fato de localizar-se nas proximidades das minas de ouro do monte Pangéus, que Filipe fez questão de controlar ao fundar de novo a cidade. Filipos tinha também importância estratégica por constituir a rota terrestre para o Helesponto (Dardanelos) e Bósforo, e portanto, para o interior da Ásia. Lucas descreve Filipos como "a primeira cidade dessa região da Macedônia" — isto é, o primeiro entre quatro distritos em que a Macedônia fora dividida pelos romanos, em 167 a.C. — e acrescenta que se tratava de uma colônia romana (At 16:12).
A cidade foi transformada em colônia em 42 a.C, pelos líderes romanos Antônio e Otaviano, após obterem vitória ali sobre Bruto e Cássio, os assassinos de Júlio César. Os comandantes vitoriosos estabeleceram um batalhão de soldados veteranos em Filipos. Doze anos mais tarde Otaviano, havendo por sua vez derrotado ali as tropas de Antônio na batalha de Actium, instalou na área parte das tropas desbaratadas de Antônio, bem como algumas famílias, às quais despojou a fim de estabelecer também seus próprios soldados veteranos, dando à cidade seu próprio nome: Colônia Júlia Filipense. Três anos depois, quando Otaviano assumiu o título de Augusto, o nome da cidade foi ampliado: Colônia Júlia Augusta Filipense.
Em Filipos, ocorreram as primeiras conversões na Europa e, por isso, Filipos tem sido chamada de berço do cristianismo europeu. A igreja em Filipos cresceu e se fortaleceu e trouxe muitas alegrias ao coração do apóstolo.
Paulo escreveu esta carta, muitos anos depois de a igreja ter ali se formado. Ele estava na prisão em Roma, em condições subumanas, mas que não puderam tirar o gozo do servo de Deus. A igreja de Filipos amava muito a seu pai na fé, e mostrou-lhe muito afeto, enviando-lhe uma carta viva na pessoa de seu representante Epafrodito. Não esqueceu, também, de enviar-lhe algum dinheiro para alguma necessidade temporal.
E nesta carta podemos aprender que a unidade depende da humildade (2:3-4). O orgulho e o egoísmo trazem divisão. Para demonstrar o valor da humildade, Paulo usou a pessoa de Cristo como exemplo (2:5-11). Afinal, concordamos: não haveria exemplo melhor.
