And the priests dwell, and the Levites, and of the people, and the singers, and the gatekeepers, and the Nethinim, in their cities; even all Israel in their cities.

And the seventh month cometh, and the sons of Israel [are] in the cities, and the people are gathered, as one men, unto Jerusalem.

|Esdras 3:2|
And rise doth Jeshua son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and they build the altar of the God of Israel, to cause to ascend upon it burnt-offerings, as it is written in the law of Moses, the man of God.

And they establish the altar on its bases, because of the fear upon them of the peoples of the lands, and he causeth burnt-offerings to ascend upon it to Jehovah, burnt-offerings for the morning and for the evening.

And they make the feast of the booths as it is written, and the burnt-offering of the day daily in number according to the ordinance, the matter of a day in its day;

and after this a continual burnt-offering, and for new moons, and for all appointed seasons of Jehovah that are sanctified; and for every one who is willingly offering a willing-offering to Jehovah.

From the first day of the seventh month they have begun to cause burnt-offerings to ascend to Jehovah, and the temple of Jehovah hath not been founded,

and they give money to hewers and to artificers, and food, and drink, and oil to Zidonians and to Tyrians, to bring in cedar-trees from Lebanon unto the sea of Joppa, according to the permission of Cyrus king of Persia concerning them.

And in the second year of their coming in unto the house of God, to Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all those coming from the captivity to Jerusalem, and they appoint the Levites from a son of twenty years and upward, to overlook the work of the house of Jehovah.

O QUE É PECADO?
João 16-18
“É um pecado!” Foi o que um passageiro de um ônibus coletivo, suspirou, ao contemplar, pela janela, a enorme foto de uma mulher bonita, em um outdoor. Eu não sei o que ele estava realmente querendo dizer. Pensei em algumas suposições, de o que seria o ‘pecado’, na opinião daquele paulistano: a) O ato publicitário de postar uma imagem tentadora; b) A mulher em si; c) Uma possível ação imaginária que tenha rodado em sua mente, decorrente da contemplação que fizera àquela peça. Sobre esta última hipótese, ainda há duas possibilidades da definição do seu conceito de ‘pecado’. Se ele estava imaginando-se com aquela mulher, poderia estar lamentando-se por “cair” naquela tentação, ou, poderia ainda, estar deliciando-se com seus pensamentos de luxúria, julgando-os bons, dando assim, ao pecado, uma conotação positiva. Que pecado!
Mas o que é, realmente, ‘pecado’? Muitos crentes gostam de responder a esta pergunta com 1João 3:4, que diz que “o pecado é a transgressão da Lei”. Sim, a Bíblia diz isto. Mas não diz que é só isto. Logo, pode ser isto e algo mais, concorda? Indo mais a fundo, na outra ponta da corda, chega-se quase à filosofia (mas ainda é teologia) da consciência de que pecado é a situação humana de sua alienação de Deus. Este conceito é muito bem defendido por Frank B. Holbrook em seu livro “O Sacerdócio Expiatório de Jesus Cristo”.
E quando Jesus estava para realizar o seu sacrifício por nós, a fim de quebrar esta alienação que existe entre o homem e Deus (Isaías 59), Ele quis deixar bem claro, sob a faceta mais prática possível, o que vem a ser realmente pecado, numa definição que já esclarecesse também o que não é pecado e ainda como não estar em pecado. Jesus, além de ter uma profundidade de conteúdo incomparável, tinha um poder de síntese fantástico. Vemos tudo isto em apenas um verso, quando Ele disse: “Do pecado, porque os homens não crêem em mim ” (João 16:9). Aqui, encontramos uma das definições bíblicas para “pecado”: deixar de crer em Deus, deixar de ter fé. A descrença desagrada tanto a Deus (Hebreus 4:17), ao ponto de, como conseqüência, causar um impacto quase irreparável no relacionamento entre o Criador e aqueles que Ele tanto ama.
É preciso crer em Deus, porque “tudo que não provém da fé é pecado (Romanos 14:23)”. A dúvida foi o primeiro grande mal, e é a origem de todos os males (leia Gênesis 3). É por isto que a obra do Espírito Santo e a intercessão de Jesus (cf. João 16-18) são tão importantes para nós. Peça-Lhe força para crer!
