“Son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say, ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD.

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: The enemy said of you, “Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession.”’

|Ezequiel 36:3|
Therefore prophesy and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because they ravaged and hounded you from every side so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations and the object of people’s malicious talk and slander,

|Ezequiel 36:4|
therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign LORD: This is what the Sovereign LORD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and the deserted towns that have been plundered and ridiculed by the rest of the nations around you —

this is what the Sovereign LORD says: In my burning zeal I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against Edom, for with glee and with malice in their hearts they made my land their own possession so that they might plunder its pasture-land.’

Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I speak in my jealous wrath because you have suffered the scorn of the nations.

Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I swear with uplifted hand that the nations around you will also suffer scorn.

“‘But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and fruit for my people Israel, for they will soon come home.

I am concerned for you and will look on you with favour; you will be ploughed and sown,

and I will multiply the number of people upon you, even the whole house of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.

SEMPRE AO SEU LADO
Josué 18-21
Ao fazer a leitura de hoje, você perceberá que as coisas que aconteciam na vida do povo eram grandes cumprimentos das promessas que já haviam sido feitas. Deus sempre cumpre as promessas? Às vezes, pode até parecer demorado, como uma história que aconteceu na Romênia.
Havia um cidadão romeno, que sempre dizia ao filho:
- Filho, haja o que houver, sempre estarei ao seu lado.
Naquela época, aconteceu um terremoto muito grande, que arrasou muitas das construções. Aquele cidadão estava na estrada, longe do seu filho. Imagine como deve ter ficado o coração desse pai! Ele foi direto à escola onde o filho estudava. Quando chegou lá, ficou decepcionado. A escola estava totalmente destruída.
Aquele homem foi tomado de uma tristeza tão grande, que na cabeça dele ficavam latejando aquelas palavras: “Filho, haja o que houver, sempre estarei...”
Ele não podia acreditar. Teorizou isso tantas vezes, mas agora, na hora da morte, ele não pudera cumprir a promessa. Seu coração estava dilacerado.
Ele ficou andando por cima dos entulhos até descobrir a altura do local onde tinha sido a sala de aulas do filho. Desesperado, começou a cavar com as próprias mãos. Com um enorme peso na mente, ficava repetindo aquelas palavras da promessa: “Haja o que houver, sempre estarei ao seu lado.”
Outros pais chegaram, até bem intencionados, e tentavam afastá-lo, dizendo:
- Amigo, vai pra casa. Não adianta, não sobrou ninguém.
E ele, decidido, respondia:
- Você vai me ajudar?
Ninguém o ajudava. Pouco a pouco, todas as pessoas iam se afastando. E não adiantava tentar convencer aquele homem. Desesperado, cavando com as mãos, repetia a mesma frase.
A polícia, parentes e até os bombeiros tentaram convencê-lo de parar com aquela loucura, mas não adiantou. Ele continuou por 30 horas.
Aí, depois de trinta horas, quando afastou uma enorme pedra, sempre repetindo aquela frase: “Filho, haja o que houver, sempre estarei ao seu lado”, então ouviu:
- Papai! Estou aqui!
- Filho, você está bem?
- Estou. Mas tenho sede, fome e estou com medo.
Impressionante! Aquele pai conseguiu, contra tudo e todos, encontrar seu filho ainda vivo, além de mais 14 crianças sobreviventes, as quais até os bombeiros já tinham dado por mortas.
O filho teve toda essa força de sobrevivência devido à promessa: “Filho, haja o que houver, sempre estarei ao seu lado.”
Deus também sempre cumpre Suas promessas. Creia que o Senhor, o seu pai, é o pai mais amoroso e fiel do mundo. Ele nunca desiste dos Seus filhos. Sua promessa para você é: “Filho, haja o que houver, sempre estarei ao seu lado.”
Deus é apaixonado por você!
