“Por que necessitamos de Mateus, Marcos, Lucas, João, Paulo e todos os escritores que deram testemunho quanto à vida e ao ministério do Salvador? “O Evangelho segundo Lucas é a narrativa mais completa da vida de Jesus que veio até nós proveniente da era apostólica. Teve a intenção de ser uma descrição completa do curso da vida do Salvador desde o seu nascimento até a sua ascensão, e faz parte de uma obra maior que inclui o livro dos Atos, o qual prossegue com a história das atividades missionárias da igreja até o estabelecimento da comunidade cristã em Roma (Dwight Lyman Moody).”
